4 Miss Rodeo California Pageant Raffle Fundraiser All MRC contestants will be required to sell 100 raffle tickets to support the pageant and to demonstrate the ability to gain support from their local sponsors and community. Tickets are $5.00 each. Contestants will earn five pageant points for the required first 100 tickets sold. Each additional 20 tickets sold will earn the contestant 1 point. The maximum number of points that can be earned in this category is 15 points for selling 300 tickets. In addition, an award will be given to the contestant with the highest number of tickets sold Please complete and return this form with your application packet. Contestants are responsible for creating & submitting their ad by August 15, 2017 as per instructions given below. Additionally, a special discounted rate is offered for Thank You & Contestants Sponsoring Rodeo ads. In appreciation for your support of the pageant, you will receive a 20% commission from every sponsor ad sold. EXPECTATION STATEMENT I understand that if I win the title of Miss Rodeo California, I will be California s Official representative and responsible to present the sport of rodeo in it s true light to the general public. I will strive to represent unexcelled sportsmanship, while exhibiting high moral and ethical character during the pageant. I have read the rules regarding sportsmanship and proper conduct during the pageant and agree to follow these rules. I will educate myself concerning the proper treatment of animals used in rodeos and agree to treat all animals in a humane way. I understand that the Miss Rodeo California Pageant is not a beauty contest. Rather it is a competition that recognizes a number of attributes: Horsemanship, personality, public speaking and appearance. Therefore, it will be my responsibility, as California s official rodeo representative to act, speak and dress according to the esteem my title deserves, any time that I am in the public eye. Riding and horsemanship skills are key to the promotion of the sport of rodeo. Therefore, I will strive to improve my riding and horsemanship skills so that I can better promote the sport of rodeo. If I become Miss Rodeo California, I will: Wear my Miss Rodeo California banner, western hat, western boots, as well as suitable western attire, any time I am acting in the capacity as Miss Rodeo California. Avail myself of all opportunities to appear as Miss Rodeo California to the public and to be prepared for photographs and interview opportunities to promote the sport of rodeo. Attend specific rodeos as requested by the Miss Rodeo California Pageant Executive Board with expenses being paid by the organization that requests the appearance, and attend other rodeos, when I am able, in my area of the state. Attend and compete in the Miss Rodeo America Pageant held in November/December the year of my reign with entry fee and advertising fee to be paid by Miss Rodeo California Pageant, Inc. I understand I am responsible for raising the funds needed for clothing requirements, travel expenses and all other expenses related to competing at the Miss Rodeo America Pageant. I understand and agree to execute a contract with the Miss Rodeo California Pageant Inc. with respect to my duties as Miss Rodeo California. I agree that during official Miss Rodeo California Pageant activities, including the Miss Rodeo America Pageant, an official chaperone or chaperones will be designated and that I will cooperate fully with these chaperones. I understand that during my reign as Miss Rodeo California, the Miss Rodeo California Pageant Executive Board s representative in charge of appearances must approve all of my appearances as Miss Rodeo California and I agree to maintain close contact with that representative. I agree that during the term of my entry as a contestant and throughout my reign as Miss Rodeo California, I shall remain unmarried and shall observe a high standard of moral and ethical behavior, including all internet sites, including my space, facebook, etc. befitting my title and setting a good example to the public, future competitors and the Miss Rodeo California Pageant. I agree to provide my own horse and transportation to all events as necessary. I agree to execute the accompanying Waiver Agreement. I agree that I have read and understand the MRC Pageant, Inc., Rules and Regulations and will abide by these rules during the entire Miss Rodeo California Pageant and during my reign as Miss Rodeo California, should I earn the title. I attest that I meet the Miss Rodeo California Eligibility Requirements and I understand and agree, as a contestant of the Miss Rodeo California Pageant, to comply with the expectations set forth in the Miss Rodeo California Pageant Contestants Expectations, copies of which I received in my official contestants packet. I understand that if I fail to meet the aforementioned Eligibility Requirements or Contestant Expectations, I will not be eligible to hold the title Miss Rodeo California, and will not be permitted to compete in the MRC Pageant. 10 WAIVER AGREEMENT THIS AGREEMENT is made between the Miss Rodeo California Pageant, Inc. of P. O. Box 1777 City of Tehachapi, State of California, hereinafter referred to as Pageant and, State of California, hereinafter referred to as Contestant. WHEREAS, Pageant conducts the Miss Rodeo California Pageant (hereinafter referred to as Contest ), including the creation, publication and administration of all rules and regulations thereto, and WHEREAS, Contestant desires to compete in Contest, NOWTHEREFORE, In consideration of the mutual promises sent forth herein, the mutual benefits derived here from and other good and valuable consideration provided each unto the other, the receipt and sufficiency of which is acknowledged by deliver hereof, it is agreed: 1. Contestant represents she (a) has read all Contest rules and regulations; (b) has received a copy of all Contest rules and regulations; (c) has otherwise been fully advised as to any and all written and/or verbal amendments, if any, to Contest rules and/or regulations, and all such questions have been fully answered. 2. Contestant will adhere and comply with all Contest rules and regulations. 3. Contestant shall upon observing and/or being informed of any violation of, and/or perceived violation of, any Contest rule and/or regulation; a. Inform Pageant of the alleged and/or perceived violation, at the earliest and most proximate time to the instance, but in no event, no to be less than two hours of scheduled naming of the contest winner (s) and b. In no way act to withhold information from Pageant and/or from other third party contestant (s), as to deprive Pageant of the opportunity to determine alleged violations. In this regard, the National Director, is hereby designated as the person to receive any and all alleged and/or perceived rule violation (s). 4. Unless timely reported as defined above in paragraph 3 (a) each and every alleged violation of, and/or perceived violation of, Contest rules and or regulations shall be deemed waived, and the complaining party shall be stopped from presenting allegations regarding the same. 5. Pageant agrees that with respect to reported violation(s), it shall (a) timely and fully investigate each allegation, (b) report its findings to the person presenting the allegation and (c) enforce its rules and regulations as against any contestant found to have violated the same. 6. Contestant agrees that Pageant is the sole and exclusive entity to determine the existence and/or non-existence of a violation of rules and regulations, and that Contestant shall be finally bound by Pageant s determination, the same to be final and binding between the parties hereof. Contestant further agrees that Pageant is the sole and exclusive authority to interpret and enforce its rules and regulations 7. In any legal proceeding in which Pageant shall be awarded any judgement enforcing any term and/or condition of this Agreement, Pageant it s employees, agents, sponsors, and/or representatives shall also receive a reasonable attorneys fees and all cost incurred in the prosecution and/or defense of said action. 8. I agree to indemnity and hold harmless committee members, MRC Board Members, agents and employees or any of the contestants together with those persons and entities who allow use of vehicles, donate horses for use by myself and other contestants from any claims resulting from the loss, accident or injury received by me in connection with participation by me in any event, parade or performance or other pageant activities. 9. I agree to abide by the rules and regulations and understand that any violation of the rules and regulations may disqualify me from the competition. I certify that I have read and agree to abide by the rules and regulations of the Miss Rodeo California Pageant. 10. I hereby release the right, title and claim of any photographs that may be taken by the Miss Rodeo California Pageant, Inc. for their use in promotion and publicity.
