POSITIVELY no animals will be ear tagged, tattooed, or recorded after scheduled dates. (See above for each individual project eligible.) Proof of ownership and hauling papers are required by the Arizona State Livestock Board at the time of ear tagging, tattooing, or registration with FFA, GCYLA, and 4-H advisor. Special regulations apply to any animals coming from out-of-state. Consult project leader(s) for compliance with these regulations. Swine exhibitors must have a Certificate of Inspection to exhibit swine. 6) Every effort will be made to protect and care for entries, but in no case will the FFA, GCYLA, and 4-H advisor, Superintendent, or any Fair official be responsible for damage or loss that may occur. 7) The Superintendent and Jr. Livestock Committee jointly have the right to reject any exhibit showing any evidence of disease, infection, or deformation, as well as any exhibit that is, in their opinion, a hazard to spectators, exhibitors, or other exhibits. Any animal not considered in "Show fitted conditions" may be rejected also. Animals showing serious physical impairment will be removed from the exhibit area. The Jr. Livestock Committee may request a veterinarian to inspect any animal at any time during the fair for health and/or safety reasons. No substitution will be allowed. 10) Market animals must be entered in either junior division or open division and may not be shown in both. Only 4-H, FFA, and Greenlee County Youth Livestock Association market animals will be eligible for Junior Livestock Sale. Exhibitor must designate the organization at initial registration 2
3 (4-H, FFA, or Greenlee County Youth Livestock Association) and show as a member of that organization at the fair. 11) The USDA Wholesome Meat Act applies to all slaughter animals at this show. The Act requires the following: A. The animal does not have any illegal level of any drug or other chemicals. B. The withdrawal periods for all approved medications, drugs, pesticides, or feed additives administered have been adhered to. C. The animal has not been fed any feed known to contain protein derived from mammalian tissue such as meat and bone meal. D. If drug or chemical residues are found in carcass tissue, and the carcass is condemned, the exhibitor will forfeit all premium monies and sale proceeds from that animal. Please consult your project leader if you do not understand this statement. 12) All market animals will be weighed on scales at the County Fairgrounds. This weight will be both for judging classifications and sale. Weight lots previously determined will be set by FFA, GCYLA, and 4-H advisor and Superintendent jointly after all animals are weighed. Steer classes will be set by weight. If more than 15 animals it will be divided into 3 classes. If there are 5 or less animals there will be only 1 class. 13) All animals should be fed and watered normally after being brought to the fairgrounds. Each exhibitor is required to provide their own feed. Any exhibitor, who, in the judgment of the Livestock Superintendent or Jr. Livestock Executive Board, is neglecting to properly care for an animal. Should an exhibitor receive ANY reprimands at a fair, appropriate action will be taken that could include being barred from competing for one year. Jr. Livestock Executive board will make final decision. 14) Weight limits for market animals. MARKET STEERS: Market steers minimum weight at fair 900 lbs.
