3 ELIGIBILITY 1) Queen contestants must be ages ) Princess contestants must be ages ) Little Miss Contestants must be ages ) Sweetheart contestants must be ages 7 and under and will not be judged. 5) Contestants must be single, never been married, and have no children. 6) Contestants must sign and return all required forms by April 1 st, ) Contestants must agree to abide by pageant rules with the possibility of disqualification for infractions. 8) When a contestant becomes Queen, Princess, or Little Miss she must be available to fulfill all the required duties of her reign. QUEEN, PRINCESS, & LITTLE MISS RULES AND REGULATIONS 1) Contestants must conduct themselves in a proper lady-like manner and portray high moral standards. 2) Each contestant is required to submit a $50 NON-REFUNDABLE entry fee. 3) Each contestant must sign a waiver agreement and release of liability forms and complete the application form upon entering the pageant by April 1st, ) Contestants must provide their own horse (unless approved by committee) for the horsemanship portion of the contest. 5) Contestants must provide their own wardrobe and must be of western attire. 6) Contestants must include an 8x10 photo with their application and (if possible- info@wscrodeo.com) a head shot strictly by the guidelines for the program. Photo should be a head and shoulder shot of you only with cowboy hat and western attire. Please make sure it is a nice quality picture also. The photo will not be returned to the contestant. 7) All contestants must be checked in by 8 am Friday, June 8th, ) Contestants will draw for positions after everyone has checked in. 9) Crowned Queen, Princess, and Little Miss winners will ride in the Friday, Saturday and Sunday Grand Entry. Also Coronation will be Friday night. Queen and Princess Winners may also be asked to carry flags during Rodeo Performance. Rodeo attire must meet Roughrider rules. 10) Modeling attire will be dressy western consisting of western dress or western blouse/skirt outfit. 11) Immediately following the horsemanship patterns, the contestant will make a Queen s Run and Flag Run. 12) Miss WEVSC Queen, Miss WEVSC Princess, and WEVSC Little Miss will be crowned Friday night during Coronation at 5:30 pm before the Ranch Rodeo. Sweethearts must also be present during coronation and will be escorted in to do their Queen wave.

4 13) All contestants must sign a contract agreeing to represent the Saddle Club in a business-like manner. 14) ALL DECISIONS OF THE JUDGES ARE FINAL. 15) Rudeness toward the judges, other contestants, and/or committee members by contestants or contestant s parents WILL NOT be tolerated. Not everyone can walk away with a crown so put your learning hat on and practice good sportsmanlike conduct at all times. 16) Contestants will be required to do the horsemanship pattern of their category only. 17) A participant may ONLY HOLD ANY TITLE ONCE. They may participate for experience only, will not be judged, and are not eligible for any prizes. Such participants MUST submit the $50 entry free, but will not be required to do any fundraising. 18) Queen, Princess, and Little Miss will be required, as part of their duties, to be present for the WEVSC Rodeo and Ranch Rodeo. They will be given 3 weekend passes during the coronation. All others who choose to attend the rodeo will pay gate fees. 19) Each contestant will receive a wristband that is good for a Friday pass only to the White Earth Valley Ranch Rodeo and the dance. You will receive this upon check in at the office. 20) Some of the questions for the written test will be taken from but not limited to the test study guide. Impromptu questions may range from current events to basic rodeo questions. Queens, Princesses, and Little Misses need to be well rounded and knowledgeable horsewomen. 21) Queens & Princesses are required to present a two minute speech during/after the modeling portion of the contest. Little Misses are not required and will not be judged; however, if they would like to participate for practice they are more than welcome. The speech must be on a horse related subject. 22) The horsemanship patterns are posted on the website. One girl to a horse per age division unless pre-approved by committee. Tack used during the competition should be sufficient for the horse. Split reins are preferred but optional. If a tie-down is necessary please use it. 23) All prizes awarded are property of the recipient with exception of the traveling Queen chaps and the traveling Queen, Princess, and Little Miss Crown. These will be passed on to the new winner at the end of your reign and are property of the WEVSC Queen Pageant. All prizes will be forfeited to the WEVSC to turn over to the 1 st Runner up at anytime the reigning title holder cannot fulfill her duties. 24) vertising space will account for 50 points of your possible score. If you do not meet the minimum requirement no points will be received. Minimum requirements are as follows: Queen-$250, Princess-$250, Little Miss-$200. Sweethearts are encouraged to sell advertising space but are not required to. There will be a prize for Top Seller of each division. You are responsible for making copies of all sponsorship

5 sheets and giving receipt to the sponsor and tracking complete information on your tracking form. 25) Queen, Princess, Little Miss Crowns will now be traveling as of year Please also remember winner is responsible at all times during reign for the crowns. They must be turned over at coronation and contestant will receive their bracelet. However, the previous year s winners are required to remove the crowns at the start of the award ceremony. If any previous winners are caught wearing their crown anytime during the White Earth Rodeo they forfeit the crown to the club. 26) Required application and application fee is due April 1st, Any additional sponsorship is due May 1, ) Scoring is based upon the following: Horsemanship 250 pts. Interview 100 pts. Modeling / Impromptu 50 pts. Speech (2minutes) 75 pts. Photogenic 25 pts. (Total of points split by 3 judges) Test 50 pts. Sales 50 pts. Grand total of 1600pts. SWEETHEART RULES 1) Sweetheart contestants must be 7 years old or younger. 2) Sweetheart contestants will not be judged. 3) Sweetheart contestants will not be allowed to ride horses during the Grand Entry. 4) Sweetheart contestants may participate in the modeling and impromptu question if they would like to This is not required but offered as an educational learning experience. 5) Sweetheart contestants will be escorted into the arena in a truck or a horse drawn wagon to do their Queen Wave. 6) Contestants are required to submit a $50 NON-REFUNDABLE entry fee. 7) Sweetheart contestants are encouraged but NOT REQUIRED TO sell advertising space. 8) Contestants must include an 8x10 photo with their application and (if possible- info@wscrodeo.com) a head shot strictly by the guidelines for the program. 6 2018 WEVSC Queen, Princess, Little Miss and Sweetheart Expectation Statement If I become Miss WEVSC Rodeo Queen, Princess or Little Miss or Sweetheart, I will: 1. Wear my Miss WEVSC Rodeo sash, western hat, western boots, and appropriate western attire at any time I am acting in the capacity of WEVSC Rodeo Club and Pageant Committee, according to the standards set by the WEVSC Rodeo Pageant Committee. 2. Avail myself for all opportunities to appear as Miss WEVSC Rodeo to the public and to be prepared for photographs and interview opportunities to promote the sport of rodeo and future participating in pageants. 3. I understand that I am responsible for replacement cost of the traveling crown in the occurrence of anything damaging or the disappearance of it. I also understand that I will receive a bracelet to keep upon turning in my crown at the end of my reign. (Sweethearts are an exception as they receive a tiara.) I agree to uphold the title of Miss WEVSC Queen, Princess, Little Miss and Sweetheart, encourage others to participate in future pageants, fulfill the provisions of my reign, to act as hostess to contestants in future pageants and assist in promotion and conduct of the pageant in every way. I agree that during official Miss WEVSC Rodeo activities, I will cooperate fully with the directors and Pageant committee members, as well as judges and any arena moms. I understand that during my reign, I must notify the committee of all appearances as Miss WEVSC Rodeo including but not limited to the required events. I agree that during the term of my entry as contestant and through my reign as Miss WEVSC Rodeo Queen, Princess, Little Miss and Sweetheart, I shall remain unmarried, shall not co-habitate with any male/female considered to be having a relationship with and shall observe a high standard of moral and ethical behavior befitting my title. I understand that I am responsible for providing transportation for myself and my horse to the required appearances. These appearances consist of: 1. WEVSC Rodeo & Ranch Rodeo (June 8,9,10) 2. Tioga Farm Festival Parade (September??) 3. Stanley 4 th of July Parade (July 4 th ) 4. ND State Fair Parade (Required by Queen Only) I understand that if I do not attend the required appearances my title shall as well as prizes consisting of Traveling Crown, Sash, Saddle, Breast collar, Buckle, and Traveling Chaps be forfeited to the 1 st Runner up. I understand that Optional appearances may include but are not limited to: 1. Blaisdell Rodeo 2. Ray Grain Palace Days 3. Epping Buffalo Days 4. ND State Fair Parade 5. Roughrider Finals (Jamestown)

7 I, WEVSC Rodeo Queen, Princess, Little Miss, and Sweetheart will educate myself concerning the care and treatment of animals in rodeo, and agree to treat all animals in a humane way. I understand that the WEVSC Queen Pageant is not a beauty contest, rather a competition, which recognizes a number of attributes including horsemanship, personality, public speaking, rodeo knowledge, speech, and appearance. Therefore, it is my responsibility to act, speak, and dress according to the esteem my title deserves at all times. I understand that my every action and behavior as a legal minor or adult, at all times, has a direct reflection upon everyone. These actions and behaviors include but are not limited to the following: 1. Public displays of affection 2. Flirting 3. Sexual exploits 4. Posing nude 5. Dirty dancing 6. Swearing 7. Chewing Tobacco 8. Smoking 9. Drinking 10. Lying, cheating, and theft 11. Use of Drugs I understand that these actions and behaviors will pose an embarrassment to the WEVSC Rodeo, Pageant committee, Directors, communities, parents, fellow contestants, judges and general public. The WEVSC Pageant Committee feels that if such or like actions or behaviors are brought to our attention and could lead to potential loss of sponsors, or embarrassment, we reserve the right to exclude you from running in the WEVSC Rodeo Queen Pageant and reserve the right to have you resign from your title. 8 HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT AND RELEASE I,, the undersigned, have the authority to execute this Agreement and release and make the following declarations: 1. I am registered to take part in the following activities: 2. That the activity is taking place at the White Earth Valley Saddle Club rodeo grounds located near White Earth, North Dakota. 3. I understand and recognize that I am responsible for my own well-being and the well-being of the other participants. 4. I declare that I recognize that it is in my best interest, as well as that of the other participants, to follow the suggestions, guidelines, and/or rules of the activity, supervisors, and/or coordinators and that my participation in this activity is entirely voluntary or is at the direction or request of persons or entities not associated with the Queen Pageant committee or with the White Earth Valley Saddle Club. 5. I fully understand and appreciate the potential dangers, hazards, and/or risks, directly and/or indirectly inherent in participating in this activity, which could also include the loss of life, serious loss of limb, or loss of property. 6. I understand that the consumption of alcohol and/or the use of drugs are strictly prohibited and could result in my dismissal from further participation in the activity. 7. I understand that any personnel or agents also participating in this activity are not necessarily medically trained to care for any physical or medical problems that may occur during this activity. 8. I understand that the neither the White Earth Valley Saddle Club nor its members nor its officers carries medical or liability insurance for me while I am participating in this activity. 9. By signing this document below, I acknowledge that I have adequate medical and hospitalization insurance for any and all injuries that I may incur as a result of my participation in this activity. NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration for being allowed to participate in this activity, I agree to hold the supervisor(s) and/or coordinator(s) of this activity, White Earth Valley Saddle Club, their directors, members, officers, committees and committee members, and volunteers harmless for any and all direct, indirect, special, consequential damages, or costs, legal and/or otherwise, which I may incur as a result of my participation in this activity, even if due to the negligence of any one or a combination of several of the above-named parties. I have read the above terms of this Agreement/Release, and I understand and voluntarily agree to the terms and conditions stated herein. This Agreement/Release shall be binding upon the heirs, administrators, executors, and assigns of the undersigned. I further agree to indemnify White Earth Valley Saddle Club, their members, officers, committees and committee members, and volunteers, against any and all actions brought against White Earth Valley Saddle Club, and also which may be brought against by the participant named on Page #1 of this Agreement/Release, including, but not limited to an action brought by him or her upon reaching the age of majority. Sponsorship Form Size Example Sheet Contestant Sponsorship Tracking Form The Sponsorship Form is for collecting data from the sponsor. The top part of the form is to be filled out with all information pertaining to the sponsor. Please make sure to check which donation it is for. If it is a monetary donation and no mention is requested check the appropriate line. If it is an ad donation and business has business card or logo to be used please mark line and staple to the sheet or to advertising@wscrodeo.com along with a note on the back any additional information needed to be printed in the booklet. For example, Good Luck Girls! from White Earth Valley Saddle Club. Once all information filled out on Sponsorship form please tear along dotted line and give receipt for donation to sponsor. Please also follow the size example sheet and use as a reference guide when explaining the sponsor s ad size. The Contestant Sponsorship Tracking Form is to log your sponsorship received. Please make sure to fill out all information correctly and add in notes to additional info if there is a business card or note attached to Sponsorship Form.
