Showmanship: The purpose of the show is to enable youth to have a positive, educational experience in the show ring. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the 4-H or FFA exhibitor to show his or her own animals. The only exceptions that will be allowed are: If sickness or physical injury after arriving at the show prevents the owner from showing his or her own animal(s). In the case of a preexisting injury or illness that prohibits an exhibitor from showing, a physician s excuse will be required. If the exhibitor has two animals in the same class or animals entered in a conflicting 4-H or FFA show. If an exhibitor finds it impossible to attend due to scholastic or military commitments. If this is the case, the 4-H Educator or FFA Advisor must provide written permission for the use of a substitute showman. Band, chorus, sports, and similar activities will not be considered justification for the use of a substitute showman. 3.
