The Cowboy Fast Draw Association and Shoot Magazine will host the three day cowboy fast draw competition to see who the Master Gunfighter is. A Celebrity Charity Match will be held on Thursday May 10th to help raise money for Cystic Fibrosis. Sponsorships and donations are being accepted. A special edition shooters booklet will be distributed by SHOOT! Magazine. This booklet will be available to all shooters, vendors, attendees, and the public throughout this event. Reservations for advertising spots are now available. An advertising agreement and charity sponsor packet has been attached for your convenience to illustrate available ad sizes and price options for this exciting event. 3 2007 Celebrity Charity Match for Cystic Fibrosis May 10, 2007 May 11-12, 2007 CFDA Santioned Match Cowboy Fast Draw (CFD) was started by Brad Hemmah who has a long-standing reputation as a fast gun in World Fast Draw (WFDA) circles, and has hosted the WFDA world championship at his First Gold Hotel and Casino in Deadwood, South Dakota. Brad has incorporated his experience with the WFDA and public shooting demonstrations, along with the nostalgia of the Old West, and created a new shooting organization called the Cowboy Fast Draw Association (CFDA). The purpose of the CFDA is to promote and sanction fast draw shooting events that are safe and fun, and also to help individuals relive a part of our western history and nostalgia by requiring shooters to use pre-1900 equipment and western apparel. Cowboy Fast Draw requires that all firearms be of single-action design in caliber.45 Colt. The ammunition consists of wax bullets propelled by either shotgun primers only, or pistol primers and up to six grains of black powder or substitute. The targets are steel dishes, 24 inches in diameter, at a distance of up to 21 feet depending on the match. CFD events are held only when there is complete assurance that the safest environment possible has been established. This organization is about safety first, fun second. It s about handshakes, camaraderie, a man s word, morality and friendship, fair play and honest competition. Our credo is The Cowboy Way in action and deed, and requires no explanation. 6 This year s charity shoot will be an extra special event. There will be three different events conducted on Thursday, May 10th. All proceeds will go to charity. 9:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m. ELECTED OFFICIALS AND CELEBRITIES CHARITY SHOOT OFF All of the Mayors from the surrounding area, as well as state elected officials, are invited to participate. There will be a $25.00 entry fee that goes to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. All contestants must be at the Idaho Expo Fairgounds in Garden City ready to sign in and have a safety meeting by 8:30 a.m. The top five winners will receive place certificates. Mayors: you are hereby challenged by John Evans, the Mayor of Garden City! 11:00a.m. 1:00 p.m. LAW ENFORCEMENT TOP MARSHAL SHOOT OFF All area Law Enforcement officers and workers are invited to participate see who the top dog and top agency is! There will be a $25.00 entry fee that goes to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. All contestants must be at the Idaho Expo Fairgounds in Garden City ready to sign in and have a safety meeting by 10:00 a.m. The top five winners will receive place certificates. The distance for both events mentioned above will be 15-feet. You will be shooting wax bullets out of single-action.45 Colt revolvers at a 24-inch diameter steel target set at 50 inches above the ground. Only cowboy fast draw approved holsters will be used. All ammunition is provided. This is a person-on-person competition with the best two out of three shots (only one shot is fired for each draw). It is a 2X contest until the top five are reached. Once the top five has been determined, they will reverse order and commence with the CFDA Championship Shoot Off, as described in the Guidelines. Sixguns and holsters will be available at the event. For those who would like to try it out or practice beforehand you can do so at Shoot! Magazine s office in Boise, call to make arrangements for instruction and practice. 1:00 p.m. 5:00 p.m. TOP GUN CHARITY SHOOTOUT This is event is primarily for the participants in the CFDA Nationals. There will be a $25.00 entry fee that goes to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. There is an additional $25.00 charge for Cystic Fibrosis if you are not a participant in the CFDA nationals. Two divisions only Men & Ladies. This is a 2X contest until the top five. Once the top five is determined, they will commence with the Championship Shoot Off, as described in the Guidelines.
