1 NEVA DANS AGAINST GARBAGE Nevada is our home, NOT a landfill! To Whom It May Concern: We are a non-political, single issue group of concerned citizens. We are working together to prevent Northern Nevada's wide open spaces from becoming a "waste" land for out-of-state garbage. The beautiful desert of Northern Nevada is being threatened by the possibility of becoming the site of one of the nation's largest Class I landfills. This poses an absolutely unacceptable risk to our region's air and water quality, our state's reputation, and our sense of well-being. As you might imagine, we are frightened and outraged by the Jungo Disposal Site proposed in Humboldt County. These feelings are due to both the idea and magnitude of the landfill project, as well as the project progression without wide spread public awareness. People are only now realizing the incredible threat this poses to all of Northern Nevada. It is my intention to inform you in writing that I am in opposition to the Jungo Disposal Site as well as using any other Nevada lands for out-of-state landfills. I urge you to take action against this critical issue. Sincerely, For facts and information, please visit: Or write to: notrashland@yahoo.com P.O. BOX 1685 W1NNEMUCCA, NV (775)
2 CITIZEN'S PETITION AGAINST THE NEW LANDFILL The below signed individuals hereby declare their opposition to the application of the JUNGO LAND & INVESTMENT, INC. to bring millions of tons of garbage to Humboldt County, Nevada from the San Francisco, California area for permanent storage. The below signed demands that all local elected and appointed officials take all necessary steps to prevent and oppose this landfill and protect our community and our beautiful desert from the horrible effects of the extremely large landfill that will operate 24 hours per day for thirty years, and consist of about 200 million cubic yards of waste. No amount of money will compensate this community for the landfill, and we don't want it. Our sense of well being is not for sale. NAME ADDRESS - PHONE
