1 2015 Colorado State Fair OPEN BEEF OTHER PUREBRED CATTLE SHOW CATTLEMEN DAYS SCHEDULE Aug. 30th thru Sept. 2 nd Dear Colorado State Fair Breeding Beef Exhibitors: Thank you very much for your interest and participation ation in the Colorado State Fair Beef Cattle Shows. Again this year we are adding additional activities to draw attention to the agricultural exhibits at the fair. All of these events are being produced to attract an agricultural audience and to help with the Colorado State Fair mission of: PROMOTING AGRICULTURE AND SUPPORTING YOUTH IN COLORADO Best of luck at the Show and we look forward to visiting with each of you while you are at the Fair. 2 OPEN BEEF SPECIAL SHOW COMPETITION REQUIREMENTS ABSOLUTELY NO EARLY ARRIVALS SEE SCHEDULE FOR ARRIVAL TIME 1. Please read General Competition Requirements, Livestock General Competition Requirements, Junior Livestock Competition Requirements and Health requirements carefully. All entrants for livestock exhibited in open, breed, or market competitions shall provide a premises identification number at the time of entry. Any exhibitor failing to abide by these Competition Requirements will be disqualified and all premiums withheld. 2. Each individual breed will show in their scheduled classes for that day, in this show order: Shorthorn, Simmental, Angus, Gelbvieh, Maine-Anjou and Other Purebred, until each breed has completed. 3. No Group Classes will be offered in any of the Open Beef Division. 4. Refer to your breed sections for weigh-in requirements, classes offered, association specials and individual breed Competition Requirements. 5. Cow/Calf Pair Classes will show on Wednesday during the Female show. Association specials will show after Female classes on Wednesday. Refer to schedule. 6. All Champions from each breed that day will compete for the designated Supreme Champion title, Monday - Jr. Breeding Heifers and Cattleman s reception, Tuesday - Breeding Bulls; Wednesday Breeding Females. 7. Tie outs will be available on a first come basis. Designated stall assignments (1 per entered animal), will be made at the time the entry fees are completely paid. Cow/Calf pairs are considered one (1) entry. Late entries will not be guaranteed a stall. 8. Tack stall requests must be submitted in writing with no guarantee the request can or will be honored. There will be no tolerance for stall switching or altering of stall area. 9. No Exceptions: Butt fans and blocking chutes have restrictions; refer to General Livestock Competition Requirements. 9. Releases may be allowed after the Supreme selections each day at the discretion of the Beef Superintendent. All entrants must have read and be familiar with the Colorado State Fair General Competition Requirements, General Livestock Competition Requirements, and Health Requirements. When applicable all association rules shall apply. 2. All entrants for livestock exhibited in Open, Breed, or Market competitions shall provide a premises identification number at the time of entry. 3. There will be no outside bedding allowed on the State Fairgrounds. The Colorado State Fair Management is making it mandatory for all exhibitors to purchase their animal bedding through the Colorado State Fair Feed/Bedding Concessionaire. If you choose to violate this rule and bring your own bedding, you will be asked to remove it from the grounds immediately! This rule will be highly enforced by the Colorado State Fair Management team 4. A photocopy of registration papers must be sent in at the time of entry. Entries will be returned if this requirement is not met. Original papers must be available for inspection at the show. 5. Registered cattle, not previously designated in a specific sanctioned breed classification, are eligible to participate. Crossbred Cattle do not qualify in open classes. 6. Each Breeds Associations Rules, Regulations, and Policies for which the animal is registered shall be followed.
4 7. Cattle shall meet conformation characteristics, as set forth by each association's standards. Exhibitors in these breeding cattle classes are subject to their association's special rules on class qualification, defects and unethical practices. 8. Association Representatives may check tattoos to confirm they match the original certificate and entry form. 9. Colorado State Fair Officials have the right to combine any class with 5 or less animals presented. 10. There is no limit to the number of animals an exhibitor may enter in this show or in any one of these classes. Premiums will be paid in accordance with the premium schedule listed in this division. Each different recorded ownership (or coownership) constitutes a different "Exhibitor". An award will be given to the exhibitor accumulating the most points on six animals or less. In the event of tie, the winner will be the exhibitor (1) earning points in the greatest number of classes excluding champion classes, (2) winning the most first places and (3) winning the most second places, etc. The same point system as Premier Breeder will be used in all Breeds, unless otherwise stated under individual breed. OPEN OTHER PUREBRED CATTLE SPECIAL AWARDS COMMUNITY BANKS OF COLORADO, 121 West 1 st Street, Pueblo, CO; sponsors the cash award presented to the Supreme Champion Open Bull as well as being the title sponsor of the Cattleman s Reception.
