3 2019 Besthorsegear Spring Challenge May 3rd & 4th, 2019 Rim Rock Riders Arena, Powell Butte, OR Friday May 3rd BSCC 5D $1000 Added Saturday May 4 th $5000 Slot Race -OPEN 5D $7500 Added Judge Cash Side Pot $500 Added - $10,000 Future Fortunes BY ENTERING YOU AGREE TO ABIDE BY AND FOLLOW ALL RULES. Barrel Racing Rules DRESS CODE Cowboy hat or helmet, long-sleeved shirt, pants and boots are required. Refund: Full refund less office fee will be granted before April 19th. After April 19 th entry fee less office fee will only be refunded with a vet/medical release. Refunds will be mailed after completion of race with a vet/medical release. No Refunds in the Slot Race. Slot Race: Slot race entries must be paid and postmarked by March 8 th, No Refunds. Will pause the 5D Barrel race at the nearest big 50 drag to start the Slot race at 2:00pm. The Open 5D will resume after the slot race. Entries:Must be postmarked by April 19 th to be in the pre-draw and to avoid the late fee. With the consolidation of Post Office locations and closing of Post Office Sorting Facilities-please be aware that mail deposited at some postal sites can take 2-3 days to be postmarked. We strongly recommend any payments sent on the 18th or 19th be mailed at the Post Office's inside counter with a hand stamped postmark to avoid any postmark delays that could have ramifications we are not responsible for. Open Barrel Race: 5D Format 1/2 second splits. Standard Barrel Pattern with 40 ft score. Circling: One circle in the arena permitted prior to your approach to the first barrel. Payments: Cash-Check-Credit Card (5% processing fee for Credit Card). NO CHECKS ACCEPTED AFTER APRIL 19 TH. Pre-Draw Will be posted online at May 1st, Late Entries: Will be accepted up to the last 20 runs both days. Late entries are subject to late fees. Late entries, stalls, RV spots after April 19th will only be accepted onsite at the office. If pre entered and enter another horse after books close you will incur a late fee on the additional horse. One late fee per rider max. Exhibitions: Will be in a Group Riding format, 15 min. intervals with 5 spaces/riders available per slot. $20 per slot. No refunds can sell to someone else. *After April 19th check onsite with gate person for availability and purchase. no exceptions RV Camping: If RV camping was selected on entry form a card will be issued and it must be placed in a visible location. No charge for Dry Camping (Parking Lot Only) No Time: Contestants will receive a no time for knocking a barrel over or breaking the pattern. Timers: An electric timer will be used. Reruns will be given only in the event of a timer malfunction. If a rerun is given, it will be up to the contestant to decide when the rerun will take place; they must notify staff with rerun Drags: There will be a drag after every 5 numbers and a big drag every 50. Disqualification: Contestants must be ready when called. Failure to be in position in the holding area will result in a disqualification. Contestants must be in holding pen during your drag. If a horse is ran out of order, it will be disqualified. Announcer will call rider name three times, failure to be ready after 3rd call will be a turnout.

4 Stalls & Shavings: No outside shavings per facility. Stalls will include 1 bag of shavings for the 1st night only. Additiona bags can be purchased for $10 on site. Stalls required, no tie outs or self pen per facility. Future Fortunes: 4D option ½. You must provide a copy of Registration Papers, Future Fortunes entry form and W9. If you are not sure if your horse is paid into FF go to their website and you can look up your horses registered name. Checks will be mailed by Future Fortunes Inc. two weeks after results are received and posted by Future Fortunes. Judge Cash Sidepot: No entry fee, $100 to each D winner. 5D ½ sec splits.you must provide a copy of Registration Papers. YBC Sidepot: 4D option ½. Your Barrel Connections Sidepot. Must fill out YBCS entry form. Must roll time from Open. To be eligible for YCBS finals, you must enter a minimum of 10 side pots. This count would be on the person not the horse. Qualifications are based on 10 entries per contestant gets them one entry into finals. In other words, 10 times entered, 1 entry to finals, 20 times entered 2 entries into finals, 30 times entered 3 entries into finals and so on. No membership required. MORE SIDEPOTS ENTERED THE MORE MONEY AND PRIZES AT FINALS AND MORE QUALIFIED ENTRIES. Upon entering a minimum of 10 side pots, you are eligible to enter the finals for a $75.00 entry fee WITH 70% payout (30% to cover facility and office expense with no office charge). All accumulated $$'s will be paid out in a 5D format minus awards expense. Year end dollars will be split 60% purse and 40% awards. We will go as deep as we can for money and awards in divisions. Anyone can enter, not limited to age or ability of rider or horse. Year end finals with purse and prizes to be October 20th, 2019 along with Team Challenge weekend at Moses Lake, Washington. Xtreme Bonus Bucks Side Pot:XBB select Xtreme Sanctioned events will have a XBB side pot. 5D ½ splits. Entries for the XBB will be taken on must be received online before you run in the sanctioned event). Xtreme will send the winners of the XBB side pot their winnings. XBB: $35 EF for every 10 runners Xtreme will add $50 to the XBB side pot. The XBB will count for 1 qualification; you will receive 50 participation points and 1 point for every dollar earned. Must be a member, roll your time from the open and pay the $3 co-sanction fee. for membership forms. NBHASenior Race & NBHA Youth Race: 4D option ½, Senior 50 & over, Youth 18 & under. Do not need to be NBHA member to enter. Must roll time from Open. BSCC racesunday May 5 th $1000 added 4D. Entering all 3 races, May 3rd, May 4 th and May 5 th will qualify you for the BSCC Finals July 19th -21st, Cottage Grove Fairgrounds, Cottage Grove, OR.
