2 General Information 3N CATTLE Vaughan Family Ranch We at the Vaughan Family Ranch would like to welcome you to our Spring Bull Sale. This year marks our 41st year in the Purebred Charolais Beef cattle business. Each and every year we meet new people in the Industry, and we are excited to be a part of American Cattle Ranching. We appreciate all of our customers past and present and want to remain a source of quality genetics in the years ahead. Bull Sale Saturday, April 1, p.m. Farmers & Ranchers Livestock Salina, Kansas This year we have a nice set of bulls for your evaluation. We have brought another set of big, powerful spring Two year olds that can go out and cover a lot of cows. We think there is added value in these Two s based on the cows they will be able to cover this breeding season. We expanded our fall breeding program and in future sales offer more numbers of fall yearlings. We also have a nice group of younger yearling bulls to balance out the sale. We strive to produce sound, functional cattle by focusing on strong maternal characteristics as well as genetically stacked with growth performance and carcass merit. We want calves that can be born unassisted, grow and grade. We have culled heavily in cow families based on udder evaluation, body condition, phenotype and disposition. Many of our cow families trace back to our walking herd sire Baldridge Fasttrack 82F. He continues to be a multi-year, multi-trait leader Role of Excellence Sire and is an icon in the Charolais Industry. His daughters are known for strong maternal traits and make exceptionally broody females. We AI all of our heifers to Fasttrack and LT Rushmore and have been very happy with the results. All of the Fasttrack bulls should be good for heifer breeding based on their birth weight and EPD s. We have selected two herd sires that we are excited about introducing into our program. WC Transformation and WC Boardwalk. You will read more about these bulls later. They each have individual performance and merit to be great walking herd sires. This year will offer the first progeny from WC Transformation. The bulls are thick and stout while still being moderate on their individual birth weights. The bulls are generally developed on a higher roughage diet with supplemental protein to ensure sound structural development and performance longevity. They will be conditioned to wheat pasture prior to the sale so they will be properly conditioned and ready for heavy service.
