1 Poinsettia Sales Are Coming to Town Poinsettia sales will begin in October. Order forms will be handed out in late October during school clubs. Any youth selling 5 or more poinsettias will receive 4-H sunglasses. Any youth selling 10 or more poinsettias will receive a 4-H backsack. Any youth selling 20 or more will receive a 4-H t-shirt as well as the 4 -H backsack and sunglasses. The top 3 sellers in the county will receive cash prizes of $75, $50 and $25 for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place. Please do your best at selling these beautiful flowers to your teachers, family, friends, local churches and businesses as the profits go toward the Todd County 4-H program that directly benefit you as a 4-H member. See the poinsettia guidelines at right. Sale Guidelines... All youth enrolled in Todd County 4-H should try to sell at least 5 poinsettias. Money should be collected at the time of sale. All money and forms are due to the 4-H office by Friday, Nov. 9th. Todd County had 8 teams in the top 3 at state and 3 individual state champs! Any new youth interested in getting involved in shooting sports should plan to come to the Kick Off meeting next April. Date to be announced later!

2 4-H Teen Council News - Join Now! The next big upcoming teen event is the Winter 4-H Leadership Ski Retreat. This is a weekend trip that will take place in January The cost will be around $ Only those 4-H teens who attend Teen Council, sell at least 5 poinsettias and help out or attend another 4-H club or activity before the end of the year will be eligible to attend. Teens are needed to help out with the after school 4-H craft clubs, the cooking club, the annual poinsettia sales and other activities. The 4-H Teen Council will meet on Friday, October 12th at the Courthouse/4-H office from 1:45 2:45 p.m. The Todd County 4-H Performing Arts Troupe is looking for any middle or high school student interested in singing and performing. The first tryout will take place on Friday, Oct. 26th at the high school auditorium from 1:45-4 p.m. The new troupe will be performing the Star Spangled Banner at TC s Veterans Day Celebration on Nov. 9th at the High School. Call the 4-H office or lmccuist@uky.edu to sign up for this vocal group. Stuck In the Middle Camp (a camp for middle school 4-H members) Join the fun on Monday, Nov. 5th - Tuesday, Nov. 6th for an exciting overnight trip to West KY 4H Camp. November 5th is Election Day so there s no school that day! Participants will leave from the middle school on Monday, Nov. 5th and travel to 4-H camp. Spend the night at camp and spend all day Tuesday in outdoor adventures, leadership classes, arts & crafts, break out games, team work activities and so much more. The cost to attend is $48.00 made payable to Todd County 4-H. Forms and fees are due to the 4-H office by October 19th. 3 Join The Fun of a 4-H Club Meeting This Month! The 4-H Horse Club will meet on Tuesday, October 2nd from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the barn of Tim & Britany Prather in Trenton. Horse riding, grooming and chili supper is planned. Then on Thursday, October 25th from 5-7 pm. the club will meet at the arena of Eddy Lee Glenn (The Rushing Farm) on Davis Mill Road (Trenton end) for a team roping demo. Anyone 9-19 years of age is invited to attend. You don t have to own a horse to join! 4-H School Clubs 4-H school clubs are gearing up this Fall. The schedule is: TCMS 8th Grade -Fri. If you plan to attend, you must call or to let us know you are attending, so we know how much food to purchase. Youth between 4th 8th grade are invited to attend. Teen and adult volunteers are always needed! 4-H After School Attention all 3rd - 5th grade students - 4-H After School craft club will be making a duct tape key chain craft at your school.
