To enter in the 4-H/FFA Departments you must be a registered member those programs. Entries in all open divisions are open to all residents of Lincoln County. 2. Residents must complete online entry. Exhibitors must complete all steps including the last step, printing your entry tag. Online Entry- Then click on the Online Entries/Tickets Tab. (The system requirements for on-line entry are: Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or above with Java Script and Cookies enabled. This program will not work with Firefox Browser!) Non-Animal Entries - Print your tags and place them on entries along with your skill statements). 3. All Entries must be completed by deadline - ENTRIES RECEIVED AFTER THE DEADLINE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. On-line entry July 1 August 2, 2017 PREMIUMS Premium cash will be distributed during the fair Wednesday-Saturday 11 am to 6:30 pm at the payout window by the fair board office. Premiums can then be picked up at the Extension Office from August 17 August 31. Premiums not picked up will be forfeited. No checks will be mailed. 8

No Reservations will be taken until July 15, You will be allowed to park your trailers starting Wednesday, August 2, 7 am. Payment is due before you can park your trailer. LIVESTOCK GENERAL RULES 1. Large Livestock & Small Animal Entries must be made prior to Midnight, WEDNESDAY, August 2 for online entries. NO EXCEPTIONS! Online entry link: Click on Online Entries/Tickets Tab. (See the open community entry page for instructions. No tags will be printed for animal entries). IF YOU DO NOT ENTER BY THE ABOVE DEADLINE, YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY $100 PER PERSON FINE TO ENTER FAIR. Contact the Show Coordinator or one of the two Livestock Fair Board members to pay fine 2. 4-H/FFA Exhibitors are to be Lincoln County residents, or students at Lincoln County Schools. The open show will follow the 4- H/FFA show. 3. All shows are limited to two (2) animals per class per exhibitor. This excludes large livestock breeding classes. See specific animal sections for additional rules. 4. All large livestock animals are to be in assigned stalls by 3 pm on Tuesday. If not in place, animals will stay in the trailers and weigh in last. A written health inspection (signed by a vet) is required in hand, if animals are brought to the fairgrounds before 2 pm on Tuesday of fair. There will be NO modifications of pens/stalls. See the Judging Schedule for weigh-in times. (SEE NEW RULE ON THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF 4-H/FFA LIVESTOCK MEMBERS FORM) 5. Stalls, pens, & cages will be assigned. 6. No animal will be allowed to run at large on the grounds. 7. Persons having stock to be exhibited will be required to have it in readiness at the call. The judges are instructed not to wait more than five minutes after the call and those not ready will be excluded No ribbons previously won shall be exhibited with animals in the show ring. 9. No animals will show that have any hereditary or transmissible defects or unsoundness. Animals showing signs of disease or illness will not be allowed on the grounds. 10. All animals will be subject to a check by a veterinarian. Any animal that appears to be drugged will be subject to disqualification and/or blood test. 11. All sheep & goats (regardless of sex) to be on the fairgrounds must have a scrapies ear tag, registration tattoo, or other identification accepted by the Wyoming Department of Ag. If you have questions or need additional information, please contact Hudson Hill, Ext. Ag Educator at (County Tail Docking Rule): No extreme docked lamb will be tagged for the Lincoln County Fair. Lambs that have been redocked after they have been tagged will be disqualified. Any qualifying fair exhibitor who wants to go to State Fair will have to follow the State Fair Tail Docking Rule. 13. No test for brucellosis, tuberculosis, pseudorabies, or EIA (Coggins Tests) is required on legitimate Wyoming origin exhibits. No exhibit from a herd under quarantine for any contagious or infectious diseases will be allowed on the grounds. 14. ALL BREEDING BOVINE (Dairy & Beef Cattle) STOCK should have a brucellosis tattoo. It is recommended that horses be vaccinated for Influenza. 15. All animals must be clean and fitted before entering the show ring. Livestock will be cleaned and properly groomed at all times. Livestock must be well broken to halter. This denotes pride of ownership and that the animal is being cared for properly. 16. All animals must conform to breed standards. 17. Alleyways must be kept free of trash and manure. 4-H/FFA project exhibitors alone are responsible for the cleanliness of the stalls and pens. If the superintendent or livestock show coordinator tags an unclean pen and it is not cleaned within eight (8)

Livestock bedding will be clean and neat. Excessive bedding is discouraged. 19. Livestock will be cared for in a proper and humane way. Exhibitors are responsible for all feed, water & care of animals. Exhibitors in livestock departments must furnish their own feed. 20. Comfort of the animal is a primary concern. Therefore, fans and insect control are allowed. 21. Stallions must be registered. Papers must be in owner s possession and presented to the superintendent if called for. 22. All participants in open class must be properly and modestly attired and show at their own risk. There will be no opentoed shoes or sandals allowed for all ages. 23. Any animals stalled and/or exhibited on the fairgrounds remain the responsibility of the owner. Any animal that is unruly or dangerous to participants and fair goers will be released from the fair with a participation ribbon. 24. Non-specified classes may be made at the discretion of the Livestock Show Coordinator. 25. Open Horse Show Rules on Class List Pages. 26. Show Order: The order would be 4-H/FFA Market, 4-H/FFA Showmanship, Open Showmanship, and then 4-H/FFA Breeding, and then Open Breeding. 27. To be eligible to receive a premium all large and small animals must be displayed on the fairgrounds for the week of fair. The exception to this rule would be dogs, pocket pets, and dairy goats. Resale animals can leave the fairgrounds only when the resale trailer leaves. All other large and small animals (includes poultry and rabbits) cannot leave the grounds until 5 pm. 28. All buckles, awards, and premiums must be claimed within the same fair year as they were won. 29. All decisions from the Livestock Show Coordinator are final. An exhibitor and/or parents may be asked to leave the fairgrounds for improper conduct. 4-H/FFA JUNIOR LIVESTOCK RULES (These rules are for 4-H & FFA members and are in addition to the general rules listed above) 4-H/FFA Stall Fee: There will be a $10 per animal (one-time) stall fee. This fee needs to be paid online by the deadline (Midnight, on Wednesday, August 3 for online entries). Online link: Click on the Online Entries/Tickets tab. The Responsibilities of 4-H/FFA Livestock Members form must be signed by 4-H/FFA Member and Parent/Guardian. Then it is returned to the forms table under the tent before weigh-in. This form replaces the mandatory sale meeting. Health Certificate, Brand Inspection, proof of entry into the Lincoln Co. Fair, and forms table receipt will be required before you are allowed to weigh-in your animal. AGE ELIGIBLITY - for determining eligibility for competition, the age of the 4-H or FFA member will be used as of January 1 of the current year. If you are an enrolled 4-H/FFA member, have a tagged market animal project, and have entered separately in the Lincoln County Fair, you are eligible to compete in the county fair s livestock shows and eligible to sell at the Junior Livestock Sale. 4-H DRESS CODE If you are not in official dress, you will be disqualified. Beef - Feb. 1 Sheep, Swine, Market Goats June 1 Horses, Dairy Cattle, Breeding Animals - June 1 JUNIOR LIVESTOCK (4-H & FFA) RULES 1. 4-H & FFA members can only be registered in one state 4-H program and one county 4- H program H & FFA exhibits will be judged and placed 1 and 2 then as many 3-6 as needed. Premium money will be paid according to Junior Livestock Show placing. 3. Club members should exhibit their own livestock personally, but in case they have more than one animal to show or two 11 shows at the same time, they may have another club member help show their animals. While in the show ring, the person showing the animal must do so without aid, and all adults, except those qualified to be in the show ring, must remain outside of the show area while the animals are being shown. 4. Livestock Fitting Rule - A 4-H or FFA member is expected to fit his own animal at fair. However, in the interest of safety, a 4-H or FFA member may be assisted by others (i.e. member, parent, or other adult). Assistance is defined as a learning situation where the teacher (helper) is teaching the 4-H or FFA member a technique in fitting or showing. The teacher-adult is allowed only to show how; the member is expected to perform the majority of each technique and/or skill required. If the fair committee decides there is a violation of this rule, it may result in the disqualification of the animal and the forfeit of premiums and ribbons. If the 4-H or FFA member is found to be in violation of the fitting rule, he/she will not be allowed to show in any 4-H or FFA division entered, including the showmanship contest. The fair committee for each livestock division will be the livestock superintendent, the Fair Board chairperson, the Fair Board livestock members, FFA Advisor, Ag Extension Educator, and the Livestock Show Coordinator. 5. Herdsmanship/Stall Information a. Stalls will be assigned and the stall cards will be in place by 2 pm on the Thursday before fair. A written health inspection (signed by a vet) is required in hand, if animals are brought to the fairgrounds before 2 pm on Tuesday of fair. There will be NO modifications of pens/stalls. b. Breeding Sheep & Goats may be brought the day of the show & taken home after, if there are not stalls available. The breeding animals must

The large animal Herdsmanship Award will be based on a score sheet so clubs can improve from year to year. The award s objectives are to create pride in the barn area and promote healthy competition between clubs. The large animal Herdsmanship winners will receive recognition at the rodeo; a banner to display in the barn for the next year, and a traveling trophy to be awarded at Awards Night and be able to pick their stalls for the next county fair. d. Exhibitors alone are responsible for the cleanliness of the stalls and pens. e. Alleyways must be kept free of trash and manure. 6. Tagging Rule a. Death Clause Rule- an animal can be tagged for 4-H/FFA kids with the same guardian as long as the animals are being raised together. In the event of a tagged animal s death, the Extension, FFA, personnel need to see the deceased animal to qualify for the death clause. A vet may also be able to call an Extension or FFA personnel to verify the death of the tagged animal. Members must notify the Extension Office or FFA right away, when an animal dies. b. The number of animals tagged may not exceed two animals per kid per species per 4-H or FFA program. The Death Clause would apply to families who did not want to/ or could not tag two animals per kid per species. The floater animal tagged needs the name of the family members tied to it at the time of tagging. Floater animals are only eligible for county fair and are not eligible for State Fair. c. An animal can be tagged in multiple names for special animal science educational programs conducted by the Extension Office at the discretion of 4- H/Extension Staff. d. 4-H/FFA members can exhibit no more 12 than TWO animals in a class in any livestock program. Any animal may be shown ONLY IN ONE (1) (Except Non-Meat Pen Rabbits). ALL MARKET ES 1. The classes will be established by the Livestock Show Coordinator after weigh-in. THERE WILL BE NO RE-WEIGHS TO MAKE WEIGHT. 2. The 4-H and FFA market animals (Beef, Sheep, & Goat) will be weighed in at the fairgrounds scale (with the exception of Swine which will be weighed in the Pig Barn). (See the Schedule of Judging Events for each species weigh-in times.) If you are late for your species weigh-in time, you will weigh-in last when all other animals have been weighed. Scales will be open for 30 minutes after last scheduled species has weighed-in. 3. Proper attire and footwear is required at all times. 4. Resale animals can leave the fairgrounds only when the resale trailer leaves. All other large and small animals (includes poultry and rabbits) cannot leave the grounds until 5 pm. 5. See the class page for rules specific for each species. JUNIOR LIVESTOCK SALE RULES 1. 4-H and FFA members must complete the 4- H/FFA Responsibilities form and have it signed and dated by parent/guardian and member. This form must be turned in at the forms table before weigh-in to be eligible to sell their animals at the auction. 2. ELIGIBLITY - If you are an enrolled 4-H/FFA member, have a tagged market animal project, and have entered separately in the Lincoln County Fair, you are eligible to compete in the county fair s livestock shows and eligible to sell at the Junior Livestock Sale. 3. Sale participant must complete the consignment and sign the brand inspector sheet to be eligible to sell their animal at the sale.

A 4-H or FFA member may exhibit more than one species and will be allowed to only sell ONE (1) animal. The member must notify the show coordinator which animal is to be sold by Friday at the end of the Market Lamb show. 6. Any drugs used must be in accordance with label directions and on the advice of a veterinarian. Any drug that has a withdrawal time must be reported and it is the exhibitor s responsibility to care for the animal until the withdrawal period is over. 7. All animals must be exhibited at County Fair to be eligible for the sale and add-ons. Market animals that receive a participation ribbon will not be sold. 8. Grand or Reserve Market Animals must be sold at our county livestock sale unless both animals are owned by the same 4-H member then the Grand must be sold at the sale. 9. Any lambs that won t be accepted by the resale buyer because of short tails will be returned to the sale participant at the expense of the sale participant. The sale participant will have the market price deducted from his/her sale check. 10. Pictures: The Fair Board will not be taking pictures of the kids! A card stock thank you form can be picked up from the Fair Board Office or payout window. A picture backdrop will be provided. 11. Commission Fee Reminder: Animals that sell at the livestock sale will be assessed a 2% commission fee of the sale price. 12. If by the end of the Sheep Show, you have not told the Livestock Coordinator or show clerks which animal you are selling, your highest placing animal will be picked for the sale order and that is the animal you will sell. 13. Sale Order: Sale to start with selling the Grand Champion Steer, Reserve Champion Steer, Overall Grand Champion Lamb, Overall Reserve Champion Lamb, Grand Champion Hog, Reserve Champion Hog, First Place, Second Place. Then random draw - Third through Sixth places, including Grand and Reserve Born & Raised Animals. 14. Add-on lists from buyers must be received by September The sale participant/owner of the animal can purchase only their animal back from the resale contractor. The sale participant will have to make all the arrangements with the resale contractor. 16. The sale participant is responsible for the processing of the fryer pen animals. SHOWMANSHIP CONTEST 1. Sign up for all showmanship classes on the entry form. No entries will be allowed the day of the show H/FFA Participants in the Showmanship contest must show their own animals. 3. No boars, stallions, bulls, or bucks (goats) will be allowed in showmanship. Rams (sheep) can be shown. No lactating animals should be shown. 4. The Lincoln County Fair will award rosettes and buckles or plaques to the 4-H/FFA Champion Senior, Intermediate and Junior showman in Beef, Sheep, Goat, Swine, Rabbit, Dog, Poultry and Horse. Open Class Showmanship champions will be awarded rosettes (except Open Pee Wee). All other showmanship participants will receive nonpremium ribbons. 5. Open class showmanship is for persons not enrolled in that 4-H or FFA livestock project. Classes will be broken down into the following categories: Adult - 19 years and older Youth Intermediate Youth Pee Wee - 7 and under Note: There will be an Open Pee Wee Division Showmanship (Ages 7 & 6 only) Classes in Beef showing a 400 lb. calf or lighter. The animal is brought the day of the show and taken back home the same day and has to be owned by the person showing it. 13

FFA attired members must show a FFA animal in showmanship and 4-H attired members must show a 4-H animal in showmanship. FFA INFORMATION 1. FFA members are eligible to show at county fair through the summer of their graduating year of high school. 2. All students enrolled in Agricultural Education Classes are expected to carry a supervised Agricultural Experience Project. In addition to livestock projects students are encouraged to exhibit agronomy, mechanics projects, record books and notebooks to realize the full benefit from instruction and hands on. 3. Exhibits must be of competitive quality and approved by the instructor prior to the show. Awards will be given according to the accepted standard of the Fair Board. Prize money will be awarded on the basis of the number and quality of the exhibits, except where otherwise specified. 4. Projects exhibited must be part of the FFA member's SAE Program and, in the case of livestock, must be owned, fitted and shown by the FFA member. FFA members showing livestock (including horses) must also show in official dress or premiums will not be paid. Purchasing animals trained and fitted for showing is prohibited. 5. If transportation and financial arrangements can be made, the following may be entered in the Wyoming State Fair: a. Top FFA animals in Dairy, Beef, Sheep, Swine, and Horses. b. Classroom notebook or Record Book. c. Agriculture Mechanics Exhibit - depending on available transportation. ROUND ROBIN SHOWMANSHIP Awards: Champion Choice of Jacket/Buckle Reserve Champion Choice of Jacket/Buckle 1. There will be five (5) divisions of animals: 14 Horse, Sheep, Beef, Swine, and Market Goats. 2. There will be categories for Intermediate and Senior Members only - No Junior division. 3. If the Grand or Reserve Grand Champion Showman of any section cannot compete in the Round Robin Contest, the entry will then be open to succeeding winners until there are two (2) showmen in each section, (i.e., the person immediately under the Reserve Champion would be given the chance to compete if there was a vacancy in that division; if that member did not want to compete, the next one would be given the chance.) 4. General rules will be the same as the original showmanship contest in each division. 5. Members must show the same animal as they showed in the individual division showmanship contest 6. Timing of events: Five minutes on first (your own) animal this will include fitting. Three minutes on each of the other four species. 7. Scoring: Seven total categories with a possible of 105 points. Four categories of animal showmanship with 20 points each One category of fitting of your own animal with 15 points. One category of personal appearance with 10 points. The personal appearance will be scored by each judge on each individual and averaged for the final so that it can be used as a tiebreaker. The fitting and showmanship in each division will be by the judge for that division only. STATE FAIR INFORMATION 1. To be eligible for a trip to State Fair, 4-H/FFA member must have an eligible project that was exhibited at the current year s county fair. 2. For animals to be eligible to show at State Fair, they must be shown at County Fair and

State Fair Registration Forms must be completed and given to the Extension Staff by end of Mandatory State Fair Meeting. The information needed to register for State Fair is: Classes to be entered Class numbers Tag Number for Animal Number of animal pens needed We need to know if you are entering in the Junior Jackpot shows or Champion of Champion show (These shows have fees that need to be paid to the Extension Office before you can be registered). 5. A Health Form must be completed and accompany the state fair registration form. 6. Dorm & Meal Information is needed. 7. Division winners who are under 14 years of age must have a parent/guardian chaperone to accompany them. They will compete in the Junior Division at State Fair. 8. Wyoming 4-H Equine Competition Guidelines 2013 shall govern questions of policy, in the absence of specific rules. 2. Members must use the same horse or horses IDed in FFA or 4-H. 4-H members must pass the Wyoming Horse Certification with each horse to be used in the horse project H members must have passed the Wyoming Horse Safety Certification (Section 1A & 2A) to show Halter and Showmanship. They must pass Section 1A, 2A, & 2B to show Western Equitation, Western Riding, Reining and English Hunt Seat. Section 3 Special Endorsements must be passed to participate in Roping (on a horse), Speed Events, Trail, and Hunter Hack (jumping). You may select which special endorsements from Section 3 you want to participate in. FFA members must pass the FFA State Safety test to be eligible to show at fair. Eligibility verification from the high school FFA Advisor will be required. 4. Winners in all classes are eligible to compete in these same classes, if available, at State Fair. Exhibitors must furnish their own transportation to State Fair. The Lincoln County Fair Board may assist in transportation charges. 8. Showmanship and halter is open to any horse member exhibiting their enrolled horse and who has met requirements of eligibility. 9. In all timed events the horse may enter the arena in the safest way, whether it is led or ridden. NO HORSE WILL BE ALLOWED TO RUN THROUGH THE GATE INTO THE ARENA. After the horse and rider are in the arena, the gates will be closed and the riders will complete their ride. 10. In speed events the contestant must wear his/her hat into the arena. The hat can then be removed or worn, whichever the contestant chooses. Safety helmets are recommended for all performance classes. 11. Parents or leaders will be allowed to hold or lead the horse in timed events and in preparation for the showmanship classes. Members are to "fit" their own horses. 12. Intermediate and Junior riders will not be asked to mount or dismount. 13. Safety around obstacles should be kept in mind. 14. The reining patterns will be posted and announced. The judge will assist in pattern selection. 15. Be familiar with all reining patterns in the Wyoming 4-H Equine Competition Guidelines A pony is classified as 14.2 hands or under (58 inches). 17. HORSE HEALTH A health inspection will be required for any horses entered into the fair. Any horse showing any signs of sickness: coughing, running nose and eyes and fever will be sent home. It is recommended that all horses be vaccinated for the following at least 1 month prior to show: Influenza, Eastern & Western Sleeping Sickness, Rhino, Tetanus, Potomac Fever, & Strep (strangles). 18. SPLITTING OR COMBINING ES. Classes may be combined or all age classes may be split at the discretion of the judge and the show management. 5. PROMPT ENTRY INTO THE ARENA. All horses entered in a class to be judged must be assembled at the entrance to the arena in ample time for the judging to start promptly and to continue without delay. Full schedules require that we keep the show moving. Contestants may be disqualified for failure to follow this rule. 6. SHOW HELP. Please leave gate and prize help alone. If you have questions or problems, find the Show Superintendent, Layne Cazier, or Fair Board Member, Robert Linford. 7. BACK NUMBERS. Competitors showing multiple horses must keep track of which back number is assigned to which horse and wear the appropriate number when showing. Failure to do so is grounds for disqualification. 8. CROWS NEST. Competitors or competitor s family members are not allowed to watch from inside the crow s nest when judge is in there judging. 9. ANIMAL WELFARE. Every horse shall, at all times, be treated humanely and with dignity, respect and compassion. The standard by which conduct or treatment will be measured is that which a reasonable person, informed and experienced in generally accepted equine training and exhibition procedures or veterinary standards, would determine to be cruel, abusive or inhumane. 10. MARE/FOAL RULE. If any mare has a foal at its side, the foal must be kept in a trailer or stall. 11. DOG RULE. No dogs allowed except for seeingeye dogs. 12. HIGH POINT AWARDS: To be eligible for high point award, horse can only be shown in one division by one rider. All Thursday classes except halter classes contribute to High Point points. No fee is required to be eligible for high point honors, but it is necessary to nominate your horse so that points will be kept on horse and rider. High Point will be awarded in the following categories: Thursday Open Show Award in each age division classes 1-50 (excluding halter classes). 13. After entering arena for Western Pleasure, contestants will stay in arena until Western Pleasure for their age division is finished. If not entered in Western Pleasure, contestant may be excused after Western Horsemanship or if not entered in Western Horsemanship but entered in Western Pleasure, contestant may enter arena immediately following the Western Horsemanship class. Those entered in both classes will not leave arena between the two classes. 14. FREE-STYLE REINING WILL FOLLOW NRHA FREE STYLE REINING RULES Free-style reining provides an opportunity to creatively expand moves that a cowhorse must use in performing its duties with choreography and music. Riders are encouraged to use musical scores which permit them to show the athletic ability of the horse in a crowd appealing way. NRHA Rule Book is online. Time Limit is a maximum of 4 minutes. The time will be from the beginning of the music and will end with the music. Costumes are permitted but not required. Emphasis is placed on performing the reining maneuvers to music. CDs and cassettes will be used and cued at the beginning of the tape or song. 15. RANCH HORSE VERSATILITY Contestants will have to jump the pine boughs, lope the length of the arena and over the logs. Drag a log around the post, run down and do a sliding stop. Back your horse at least 10 feet, two spins to the right, two spins to the left. Box cow, turn cow off the fence each direction. Must rope the cow and stop it. (Cannot figure 8 the cow, must rope it). Contestants will be given two loops. 16. ACCEPTABLE ATTIRE. All three days of the horse show are governed by AQHA &/or NCHA rules. Western attire will be required for all events except English classes; proper English attire will then be necessary. Helmets are optional. 17. TEAM SORTING. A team of two riders have to move the cattle one at a time from one pen to another in numerical order, starting with a random number called by the announcer. Time will start when the first horse crosses through the opening between the pens. If already sorted cattle cross back into original pen or the wrong number goes through, the team is disqualified. There will be a Top 10 call back. The team with the most cattle sorted in the fastest time on the combined two runs wins. The open will be a 60 second clock and the youth will be a 90 second clock. Youth is 12 and under. Open will be first with the youth to follow. It will be a pick two draw one or all rides can be a draw. If you want 38

Lincoln County Fair will exercise all reasonable precaution to protect your property while at the fairgrounds, but under no conditions will Lincoln County be responsible for lost, stolen, damaged, or destroyed items. COMMUNITY INFORMATION COMMUNITY BOOTH INFORMATION The Lincoln County Fair Board displays exhibits in Community booths. Outside of Star Valley, these are defined as areas recognized by a community name. Within Star Valley, L.D.S. church ward boundary lines have traditionally been used to define easily recognized communities of approximately equal size. This is not intended to reflect a church sponsorship of the fair. Anyone who feels like a part of a community may exhibit in that community booth whether or not he or she actually lives within the boundary lines of that community. All open class exhibits from each community will be placed in the community booth, with the exception of flowers; they will be placed in the flower booth. However, they will count toward the community prizes. All community booth chairmen will receive $ to defray decorating costs. Each community booth chairman will be responsible for decorations and arranging their own booth. There is electricity at each booth and all decorations must not extend into the isle or make a mess in the building. They must provide sufficient help during the judging (two helpers) to assure that all entries are brought promptly to the judges' table when the classes are called. They must provide helpers to watch the booth during the hours that the building is open to the public. Booths will be judged and 1 st, 2 nd, 3 rd place awarded, based on expression of the theme and overall appearance, not on the number of entries. THIS YEAR, in order to simplify for those traveling, Flowers, Crops and Baked Goods will be brought to the fairgrounds on Monday, August 7, 2017 between 7:30 and 8:30 am. They will also be judged that day. Items that do not meet these deadlines will not be judged. The building is not open to the public until Wednesday, August 9, at 12:00 pm. The building is open to the public from Wednesday through Friday, 12:00 noon to 6:30 pm. Saturday, 12:00 noon to 5:00 pm. 2. No article may be entered which has won a prize in the fair in previous years. 3. No exhibit may be removed before 6 p.m. on the last day of the Fair. Exhibits can also be picked up on Monday, August 14 between 10 am and 1 pm. 4. Judges will award no higher prize than exhibit merits. 5. NO is to be discussed until the judge has completed the placing. ONLY the superintendent is to speak to the judge while he or she is placing the class, if necessary. 6. Any superintendent or any other person, concerning an exhibit or exhibitor, should make NO COMMENTS within hearing range of the judge. 7. NO exhibitors will be allowed to watch the judging. 8. Exhibitors shall be permitted to make ONE entry only in any one-class number. 9. Any exhibitor entering an item in a specific class may not have another of the same item entered in the miscellaneous class. 10. Articles will not be judged if they are soiled or unfit for exhibition. The judge may also disqualify items that are old. 11. Every article entered must be entirely the work of the exhibitor; however, a group of people may enter as single exhibitor. Example: church organization or club. The name of the group should be on the tag. Quilts are an exception. The quilt maker may exhibit them, provided the maker was responsible for the design of the quilt and did a major portion of the work. 12. No item should be entered if purchased, received as a gift, or borrowed. 13. The maker should enter all items. 14. Names and addresses are required on the entry tag. Names will be hidden during judging by turning the tags over. 15. All entry tags MUST be filled out completely and correctly in order for premiums to be paid. 16. Youth will receive a participation ribbon if they do not receive a blue, red or white ribbon. There is no premium paid for the participation ribbon. 17. Intellectual and Developmental Disability (I.D.D.) sections will be listed as I.D.D.. An exhibitor choosing to enter in the I.D.D. division may not enter in any other division. 18. Professionals are welcome to enter if the tags are so marked. The definition below is to be used. Individuals determine this for themselves. We feel that there is more honor in winning against other professionals. (A professional is one who sells his/her work or receives remuneration for teaching). 19. The same photograph changed and entered again under a different class is not permitted. 3. All images must be original and may not include elements produced by anyone else except scanning, cropping, and printing. When submitting an entry the exhibitor certifies the work to be their own. 4. Photographs that have been entered and judged in previous years are not permitted. 5. Photographs must be mounted on foam and/or core board. Gallery wraps are acceptable. No framed photographs or photos mounted on cardstock will be accepted. 6. All photographs must be at least 8 x 10 inches and may not exceed 16 x 20 inches. Panoramic photographs are defined as having an elongated shape and are exempt from the 8 X 10 restriction. 7. Tags must be attached to the front of the matte along with any before pictures for the restoration classes. All tags must match the clerk s records. 8. Normal adjustments to a photograph such as cropping, brightness, contrast, are allowed in any class. 9. Sepia tone and duo tones are allowed in Black & White if it is the only "altered" part of the photo. 10. Montages are photos combined with other photos or graphics to create a larger whole. The photos in the montage can be any size as long as the whole montage follows rule #6 and must be printed out on one sheet of photo paper. Panoramic photographs are defined as having an elongated shape and are exempt from the 8 X 10 restriction. 7. Tags must be attached to the front of the matte along with any before pictures for the restoration classes. All tags must match the clerk s records. 8. Normal adjustments to a photograph such as cropping, brightness, contrast, are allowed in any class. 9. Sepia tone and duo tones are allowed in Black & White if it is the only "altered" part of the photo 10. Montages are photos combined with other photos or graphics to create a larger whole. The photos in the montage can be any size as long as the whole montage follows rule #6 and must be printed out on one sheet of photo paper. Photographs in the Restoration class are for old, damaged photographs that have been digitally repaired. They must have a before picture or they will not be judged. 12. BEETS, TABLE - Diameter should be 2 to 2 1/2". Side rootlets should be removed, but the tap root should not be removed. All specimens should be uniform in color, shape and size. Tops trimmed, leaving 1" of leaf stalk above crown. BROCCOLI - Heads should be uniform in dark-green color, condition and size. Should be compact, not less than 3" in diameter, and free from damage by disease, insects, worms, or wilting. Cut the stems squarely above the first whorl of leaves, to give an overall length of 5". CABBAGE - Heads should be the same variety, uniform in color, shape and size. Should be firm, heavy in comparison to size, free from damage by freezing, disease, or insects. Midribs should not be large and the leaves should not be trimmed to close. Leave stem 1/4" long to hold leaves firmly. CARROTS - Select carrots that are smooth, straight, firm, deep orange in color, and free from greening at top. Specimens should be typical of their 95 variety. Avoid oversize. Should be free from side roots, cracks, or other damage. Cut off tops to 1". CAULIFLOWER - Heads should be pure white, solid, uniform and close flowered. Should not have leaves appearing through the head. Trim the green outer leaves to 1" above the head. Trim the butt or stem to allow 4 to 6 leaves to remain. CUCUMBERS, SLICING - Straight, firm, uniform in color, shape and size, same variety. Not overgrown, but should be uniformly medium or dark green, 6 to 9 inches long. Clean by gently brushing with a soft brush to avoid removing the natural bloom. Cut the stem off to 1/4 ". CUCUMBERS, PICKLING - Deep green fruits of uniform size and shape. Avoid misshapen or crooked fruit, insect or mechanical damage. Do not wash fruits. Brush off soil. GREEN ONION " bulb, small, peeled, etc. Uniform in color, shape and size. Uniform in color, shape, and size, with green calyxes attached. Free from any kind of injury, such as insects, diseases, or hail. PEPPERS, BELL - Leave stems on and trim them to 1 inch long. Should be smooth, thick fleshed and firm although they may yield to slight pressure. RADISH - Medium sized, firm, crisp, uniform roots; true to type. Avoid wilted or soft roots, insect damage, growth cracks. Gently wash in cool water. Trim tops to 1 inch; do not remove taproot. RHUBARB - All stalks should be uniform in color, shape, size and texture. Each stalk should be at least 2 inch across its flat face at the center of the length. Length after trimming should be at least 10 inches. Stalks should be tender, crisp, fresh, not pithy, limp or wilted. Neatly trim the tops, leaving 1 inch of leaves and prongs. The stalks should be pulled when harvested, not cut off. The basal stalks should be removed from the bottom of the stalk. SQUASH, SUMMER - Pick when small (best eating, 4 to 7 inches, depending upon variety). The specimens should be extremely soft, fairly tender, and have undeveloped seeds. 104 Online Entry July 1-Aug. 2, 2017 Lincoln County Fair FLOWERS 1. Items will be brought to the fairgrounds MONDAY, August 7, 2017 between 7:30 and 8:30 am and will be judged on Monday. 2. BRING FLOWERS IN CLEAR, GLASS JARS, SO STEMS MAY BE SEEN CLEARLY. 3. Don't exhibit in tiny or flat container which tips easily and won't hold water. 4. A stem means just that. When the exhibit specifies "1 stem" or "8 stems", etc., it means that many STEMS, not that many blossoms. DO NOT CUT EXTRA BLOSSOMS from stems. 5. Don't add Baby's Breath or any extra foliage to your bloom exhibit in Division 1. It is strictly a competition of the flower itself - not an arrangement. 6. Do not enter more stems than called for. It is easier to see more clearly and judge a few flowers than a whole jarful packed in together. 7. The exhibitor must be responsible to see that his/her flowers are entered in the right division and class. 8. Flowers entered in Division 1 & 2 must be raised by person making the exhibit. 9. EXHIBITORS ARE TO TAG OWN FLOWER ENTRIES. DO NOT LEAVE UNTAGGED FLOWERS ON RECEIVING TABLE. 10. Long stems are desired on flowers - don't cut your stems short. 11.
