3 WHY CLOVER BOWL? Help 4-H members learn about 4-H Learn how to work as a team and to communicate First Place: Award in the County Office Individual Members: A trophy and Clover Bowl Shirt
4 RULES First Person: Buzzes in and is able to answer a question TEN SECONDS TO ANSWER 1 Match= 16 questions Toss Up Round: Each team member will be numbered 1-4 First question answered by number one Only that person can answer Each member will have the opportunity to answer 2 questions during this round. All araound Round: All-Play will be a simple toss-up question in which all 8 members will have the opportunity to answer. These are the final 8 questions
5 RULES CONTINUED Each correct answer= 10 points Incorrect= -5 points If you answer incorrectly, the other team will be given 5 seconds to buzz in and 10 to answer. If they answer correctly= get 10 points If they don t answer correctly= THEY DON T LOSE POINTS
6 RULES CONT. BUZZING IN If you Buzz before the whole question is read, moderator stops reading You then answer the question Other person may answer immediately if inccorect Other team will be allowed to have the question re read If no one pushes the button, no points are awarded Blurting answers out Re-read it to the person with the light on if its from another team If the member is on the same team as the contestant, you get peanalized 5 points and the question will be thrown out
7 POINTS Bonus 5 points automatically awarded if you answer everything correctly Discussion is only allowed on bonus questions No bonus points for tie-breakers In addition to receiving 5 points, you will have a bonus question worth 15 points 20 second time period for discussion Team captain will have 10 seconds to give the answer

10 SO WHAT EXACTLY IS 4-H? 4-H is a club for kids in grades 4 th -12 th in Tennessee and ages 9-19 Nation Wide. It is FREE!!!! 4-H ers are students of the University of Tennessee. We learn by doing, it is the 4-H slogan after all! What s a motto? Motto is one thing we live by our motto is to make the best better! Our Colors are Green and white.
11 WHEN CAN PEOPLE JOIN? 4-H is first offered in 4 th grade Your official 4-H career end date is December 31 st of the year you graduate. 4 th graders: Explorer 4-H ers Some 4-H groups in 4 th grade get a book called Exploring 4-H 5 th grade: Junior 4-H ers 6th -8 th grade: Jr High 9-12 th grade: Sr. High

13 THE 4- HS The 4-H Pledge and emblem was adopted in During a club meeting, the Pledge of Allegiance is said facing the flag, and the 4-H pledge is said facing the group. I pledge my HEAD to clearer thinking, My HEART to greater loyalty My HANDS to larger service My HEALTH to better living..for my club, my community, my country, and my world. FUN FACT!!! and my world was NOT part of the original 4-H pledge! They didn t know 4-H would get so big!

15 WHO RUNS 4-H 4-H is organized and maintained by the The University of Tennessee All of 4-H is lead by the State 4-H Director. County Extension Offices run 4-H programs across the state. The organization is called UT Extension. (University of Tennessee Exension) A 4-H Agent is the person who is employed by the University of Tennessee to conduct the 4-H program. We NEED Leaders to be able to function. Leaders: Adults, Teens and Volunteers who conduct the programs 4-H Volunteer leaders are those who work with 4-H members in any shape or form.
16 FOR YOUR INFORMATION..NATIONAL 4-H 4-H happens across the whole country. The National 4-H Center is located in Washington D.C aka Chevy Chase, Maryland. National 4-H week is the first full week of October.

18 4-H: A TENNESSEE TRADITION 4-H is often called 4-H: a Tennessee Tradition. 4-H agents were originally called demonstration agents. The first 4-H member in Tennessee was named Mertie Hardin. Pat Head Summit, old coach of the Lady Vols Basketball team, was a famous 4-H er She even made a 4-H promotional video called Be a champion Weather man Lelan Statom of Channel 5 was a 4-H member from Dyer County

20 4-H IN SCHOOL CLUBS There are many ways clubs can be run, some are run by officers. Each officer has several responsibilities The President Presides over all meetings Calls the meeting to order Ask for corrections of the minutes The Vice President Presides in the President s absence Gets people to do parts of the programs Arranges the room for each meeting Secretary Checks roll Writes the minutes
