3 Section 2: Cattle Stud Cattle Judging Commences: 8.30am SHARP Chief Steward: Mr Michael Duff Fax (07) Assistant Chief Steward: Kathy Duff Stewards: Richard Grimes Entry Fee: $4 CONDITIONS OF ENTRY Stud Cattle exhibitors are required, under the National Livestock Identification System (NLIS), to make sure ALL cattle coming onto the Showgrounds carry an approved NLIS device (ear tag or bolus). Cattle that do not have a NLIS device will be sent home. It will be necessary to bring your Waybill Book on Show Day. NLIS scanning will be done at the Showgrounds. All cattle must be tick free. Age of cattle to be taken from the day of the Show. In the event of any dispute the decision of the Chief Steward and Committee shall be final. All cattle must be secured by lead ropes whilst in the stalls. Proston Show Grounds is ticky. Cattle will be sprayed to go back to clean country. 10 Prime Beef Cattle Chief Steward: Ashlee Cecil, Mob: Entry fee: $5 All entry fees must be paid on Friday, 9 March (before Show Day) and must be accompanied by a Way Bill. Prime Young Judges Competition commences at 5.30pm Friday 9 March. Class 1: 15 years (as at 1 May 2018) and under 25 years. Winner will be eligible to compete in Sub Chamber Finals at Blackbutt Show on 19 May, Class 2: Under 15 years of age. CONDITIONS OF ENTRY ARRIVAL TIME: All cattle must arrive at Proston Showgrounds prior to 3.00pm on Friday, 9 March, to enable drafting by the Stewards. PRE-SHOW WEIGHING: Weighing, mouthing and ear tagging of cattle will be done when cattle arrive at showgrounds. Animals will then be placed in their allocated class pens. Weights as outlined in class schedule will be strictly adhered to. JUDGING: Judging will commence at 9.00am, Saturday morning. Show Regulations on pages 10 to 11 apply to this section. Stud Cattle exhibitors are required, under the National Livestock Identification System (NLIS), to make sure ALL cattle coming onto the Showgrounds carry an approved NLIS device (ear tag or bolus). Cattle that do not have a NLIS device will be sent home. It will be necessary to bring your Waybill Book on Show Day. NLIS scanning will be done at the Showgrounds. All cattle must be the property of the vendor for 60 days prior to Saturday, 10 March, Any ear tags which may identify the vendor or property must be removed. 12 Cattle Champions Champion Grass Fed of Show Champion Grain Fed of Show Champion Pair of Show Supreme Beast of Show Carcase Competition Chief Steward: Ashlee Cecil, Mob: Cattle for the Carcase Competition must be booked in by Friday 9 February to allow for booking of kill space at meatworks and arrangement of transport. CONDITIONS OF ENTRY All cattle must be in the hands of the stewards by 5.00pm Friday, 9 March. A current NVD and entry form must be filled out or cattle will not be accepted. A 2.5% commission of each exhibitors proceeds shall be paid to the Proston Show Society. The Show Society will supply hay to feed the cattle. All cattle must be dehorned or tipped. All payments will be made excluding GST as the Society is not GST Registered. The Chief Steward has the right to disqualify an entry if deemed not fit to load or not adhered to the rules of entry.
