2 A: REËLS T.O.V. AFSNY DATUMS/ RULES REGARDING CUT OFF DATES Die 1ste Augustus is die afsny datum vir die Registrasie van deelname, Hemp Groottes en betalings vir die Nasionale Skou. Indien daar enige veranderinge is na 1 Augustus sal daardie deelnemer se inskrywings geld verdubbel. Geen veranderings sal gedoen word binne 1 week voor die skou begin nie. Alle inbetalings van fooie mag slegs deur die Provinsie gedoen word. Geen inbetalings deur Ouers sal aanvaar word nie The cut off date for Registration for participation, T-shirt Size and payments for the National Show will be August 1. For any registration or changes to registration after this date, the fees will be double. No changes will be made with in 1 week before the show start. All payments must be done by the province only. No payments from Parents will be accepted. B: REËLS T.O.V. DIERE/ RULES REGARDING ANIMALS Alle beeste wat ingeskryf word moet n geldige (12 maande) BM (Besmetlike Misgeboorte) en TB (Tuberkulose) sertifikaat hê.varke wat ingeskryf word moet Leptospirose vry wees. Skape en Bokke moet vry wees van Inwendige sowel as Uitwendige Parasiete. Perde moet inbesit wees van n geldige Paspoort en alle entings kry wat vereis word vir die beweging tussen provinsies. n Getekende sertifikaat van n veearts wat bogenoemde vereistes sertifiseer, moet ingedien word by Registrasie vir alle diere. Gas Provinsie moet seker maak van alle Veeartsenykundige Vereistes daar in die Provinsie is en dat dit deurgegee word aan die deelnemende Provinsies All cattle entered must have a valid (12 month) CA (Contagious Abortion) and TB (Tuberculosis) Certificate. Pigs entered must be Leptospirosis free. Sheep and Goats entered must be free of any External and Internal Parasites. Horses must have a valid Passport and that they did have all the necessary vaccinations for traveling between provinces. A signed veterinary certificate verifying the information above must be handed in at registration for all animals. Host Province must make sure what all the Veterinary Requirements are for their Province and give the information to the participating Provinces 2

The age of the animal is taken as at the first day of the month in which the show takes place. BEHEER VAN DIER /CONTROLE OF ANIMAL Alle Bulle moet n neusring hê. Alle perde moet van behoorlike halters voorsien word. Alle verse en koeie moet dragtig gesertifiseer word. Indien hulle nie dragtig is nie moet hulle behandel word om nie bronstig te raak nie(oestrus) Bewyse moet by Registrasie ingedien word. All Bulls must have a nose ring. Horses must have a proper halter. All heifers and cows must be certified pregnant. If they are not pregnant they must be injected to prevent them from coming on heat(oestrus) Proof must be handed in at registration DIERE WAT NIE GESKOU MAG WORD NIE / ANIMALS THAT MAY NOT BE SHOWN Geen Suiwel Bulle, bronstige vroulike beeste, varkbere of burge, hingste, ramme, kapaters of hammels. Merries wat bronstig is moet met.n rooi lint in die stert gemerk word. Geen siek dier mag geskou word nie. Indien n dier op die skou sou doodgaan moet hy dadelik verwyder word van die terein. N nadoodse ondersoek moet deur n veearts gedoen word om te bepaal wat die oorsaak was en die skou Bestuur moet ingelig word van die uitslag No Dairy Bulls, female cattle in Oestrus, Boars or Castrated Boars, no stallions, no male or castrated small stock may be shown. Mares that are on heat must be mark with a red string in its tale. No ill animals may be shown. If an animal die during the show it must be removed from the grounds immediately and taken to a Vet for a post mortem. The show Management must be informed of the results of the Post Mortem. ONHANTEERBARE DIERE / UN-MANAGEABLE ANIMALS Indien n dier uit die ring hardloop word hy nie weer toegelaat nie. Alle diere moet haltermak wees. Deelnemers moet ten alle tye hulle dier kan beheer. Deelnemers wat nie hulle diere kan beheer nie sal gevra word om die ring te verlaat. 3

4 An animal leaving the ring during the class will not be permitted to re-enter. All animals must be fully halter- trained. Participants must be in control of their animal at all times. Participants that can not control their animals will be asked to leave the show ring. C. REËLS TEN OPSIGTE VAN SKOUMANNE / RULES WITH REGARD TO SHOWMAN OUDERDOM VAN SKOUMANNE/ AGE OF SHOW MAN As die kind in die jaar van die skou 10 word is hy/sy onder 10. As die kind 11 word is hy/sy onder 14. As die kind in die jaar van die skou 19 word kan hy/sy nie deel neem nie. / If a child became 10 in the year of the show, the child will show as Under 10. If the child become 11 in the year of show he/she will show in the under 14 Group. If a child becomes 19 in the year of the show he/she may not participate. NASIONALE KAMPIOENSKAPPE / NATIONAL CHAMPIONCHIPS Junior Junior: Onder/under 10 jaar/years Juniors: Onder/ under 14 jaar/years Seniors: Onder/ under 18 jaar/years Junior Groep/Group: Onder/ under 14 jaar/years Senior Groep/Group: Onder / under 18 jaar/years Afskrif van geboorte sertifikaat of ID dokument, as ook n vrywaringsbrief moet by inskrywingsvorm aangeheg word / Copy of birth certificate, ID document and a indemnity form must be attached to entry form. PROVINSIALE SPANNE / Provincial Teams Die kind se adres waar hy/sy skool gaan is die Provinsie wat hy/sy voor kwalifiseer om voor deel te neem by n Nasionale Kampioenskap. The child s address where he/she attends school determines which Province he/she represents at a National Championship DEELNAME / PARTICIPATION Elke individuele skouman mag slegs in een afdeling skou. Deelnemers kan slegs in die afdeling groepsklas skou waarin hy/sy as skouman deelneem. M.a.w die groepsklas van elke afdeling word uit die betrokke skoumanne verkies. Deelnemers mag nie in staties en niestatiese afdelings deelneem nie. Mag ook nie in meer as een groepsklas deelneem nie. Each individual showman may show only in one section. Participants may show only in the group class section where they participate in the showman class. The group classes must be selected from the showmen. Participants are not allowed to show in static and nonstatic classes on show. No participation in more than one group class. 4

5 STALKNEGTE / GROOMS Geen stalknegte word toegelaat nie. Indien eienaar van diere n verteenwoordigers daar wil hê word dit toegelaat maar die persoon mag glad nie help om dier te versorg, voorteberei of om stalle skoon te maak nie. No grooms are allowed. The owner of the animal am allowed to have a representative at the stable but this person may not be involved with the caretaking and preparation of the animal or cleaning of the stable. KLEREDRAG ( Skouman en groep klasse) / CLOVING ( Showman & Group classes) Alle deelnemers word verplig om die amptelike pet, hemp en Blou (ongebleikte) denim langbroek te alle tye in die skou arena te dra. Wit of swart Rubberstewels kan tydens was en voorbereiding gedra word maar slegs wit stewels vir skouman. Met die skou van statiese uitstallings word skoene met veters gedra. By perde word skoene gedra. Lang,Blou oorpak broeke by was en voorbereiding is toelaatbaar.(geen wapens of kentekens) By groep klasse moet die klere eenvormig wees All entrants are requested to wear the official shirt,cap and Blue Long Jean Pants (not bleached) at all times when in the ring. White or black gumboots are used during wash and preparation but only white are allowed when doing showman. When showing static exhibitions participants wear shoes with layses. Long Blue overall pants at preparation and washing are allowed. (No badges) In showing horses, shoes must be worn. At groep classes the cloving must be the same. D. REËLS TEN OPSIGTE VAN BEOORDELING / RULES WITH REGARD TO JUDGING GROEP KLASSE Die groep klasse is nie verpligtend nie. n Groep moet bestaan uit 3 skoumanne. Slegs een Junior en een Senior groep per provinsie in elke afdeling. Kinders mag in n ander klas skou in die groep afdeling as wat hy die skouman in doen maar geen oorkruis tussen Grootvee en Kleinvee nie. Geen groep klasse word in varke geskou nie. The group classes are not compulsory. There must be a group of 3 in all classes. Only 1 Junior and 1 Senior group per province in every section. Children may show in a different group class as the showman class he have done but no cross between Cattle and small stock. No group class for pigs. 5

7 SUIWELBEREIDING / DAIRY PRODUCTS Beoordeling sal gebaseer word op / Judging are based on: Kennis Knowledge Uitstal / Presentation Blinde Proe / Blind Tasting Junior Junior 10% 20% 70% Junior 20% 10% 20% 50% Senior 20% 10% 20% 50% Maak van produk/ Making of Product PLASING / PLACING Beoordelaar se plasing is finaal. Die beoordelaar doen die eerste 5 plasings in die ring vir SKOUMAN. Die finale plasing word bepaal deur die totale punte. Indien deelnemers gelyk eindig met totale uit 100 word die een met hoogste vertonerspunt eerste geplaas. Daarna volgens voorbereiding en laastens kennis. Deelnemers moet n sekere persentasie behaal om vir n medalje te kwalifiseer : Goud - 75% Silwer - 65% Brons - 55% Judges decision is final. The judges do 5 placings in the ring for SHOWMAN. The final placing is done by the total points. If participants have equal marks out of 100, the one with the highest showmanship mark is the winner. Then they must be placed accordingly preparation and knowledge. Participants should receive a certain percentage to qualify for a medal: Gold: 75% Silver: 65% Bronze: 55% TYE / TIME Daar mag nie aan die tye van klasse soos in die program aangedui is verander word sonder die Gasheer Provinsie of Skou Bestuur se toestemming nie. Ensure that you are on time for specific classes. Once the gate of the ring is closed it won t be re-opened. 8 WAS VAN DIERE / WASHING OF ANIMALS Diere wat skoon na die was area gebring word vir beoordeling sal gepenaliseer word. (5 punte) Diere mag skoongemaak word tot en met 16H00 van die dag voor die aanvang van die toernooi. Slegs n halter en tou mag gebruik word om diere vas te maak vir was en voorbereiding. Dieselde dier moet gebruik word vir was, voorbereiding en skouman. By Grootvee en kleinvee word die hele dier gewas, al word die dier gedeel. Droëwas: Dit is n mondelinge, stap vir stap beskrywing van die volle was proses van die dier. n Deelnemer kan gevra word om n droëwas te doen indien omstandighede dit vereis. Die beoordelaar saam met die Skou Kommitee sal besluit of dit gebruik gaan word. Animals brought to the wash area already clean for judging will be penalised.(5 marks) Animals may be cleaned up to 16H00 of the day before the start of the tournament. Only a halter and rope may be used to fasten the animals for wash and preparation. The same animal must be used for wash, preparation and showman. With the was of all animals the total animal are wash by the competitor even if the animal are shared. Dry Wash: It is a verbal, step by step description of the total washing process by the participant. Participants can be asked to do a Dry Wash if circumstances permit. The Judge together with the Show kommitee will decide when it will be used. Tyd vir was/time allocation : JJ & JNR 35 min SNR 25 min VOORBEREIDING VAN DIERE / PREPARATION OF ANIMALS Slegs Junior en Senior doen voorbereiding. Diere kan skougereed (geskeer en hoewe geknip) by skou arriveer. Ander voorbereiding word wel beoordeel. Penalisasie vir vooraf voorbereiding (5 punte). By kleinvee doen die Junior voorbereiding op die LINKER KANT van die dier en die Senior die REGTER KANT al word die dier nie gedeel nie. Beoordeling vir Junior is lings en Senior regs Only Junior and Senior are doing Preparation. Animals can arrive prepared for showing (sheered and hooves clipped). The rest of preparation will be judged. Penalisation for prior preparation (5marks) With Small stock the Junior prepare the LEFT HAND SIDE of the animal and the Senior the RIGHT HAND SIDE. This stay the same even if they are NOT SHARING an animal. Juniors will be judged only on the LEFT HAND SIDE of the animal and the Senior on the RIGHT HAND SIDE of the animal. Only with SMALL STOCK. ALGEMENE SKOUREËLS / GENERAL SHOW RULES Alle Dooie Diere / All Animals That Die Indien n dier sou dood gaan gedurende die skou moet die dier so gou as moontlik van die skou terein af verwyder word en na n veearts geneem word vir n nadoodse ondersoek. Die naddoodse verslag moet by die skou kommitee ingehandig word. All animals that die during the show must be taken to a Veterinary Surgeon as soon as possible for a post mortem. The post mortem report must be handed in with the show kommitee. Vleisbeeste / Beef Cattle Vleisbees skouman loop vorentoe. Vleisbeeste beweeg vinniger in die ring. Daar word altyd klokgewys in n ring geloop. Daar word altyd aan die bees se linkerkant geloop en nie voor of aan die regterkant nie. n Halter moet van n leiriem en kenketting voorsien wees. Skoustok is nie verpligtend nie. Indien n vleisbees met n skoustok geskou word moet die stok spaarsamig gebruik word. As n skouman nie met n skoustok skou nie word die dier se halter gebruik om hom vorentoe of agtertoe te laat staan. n Vleisbees se voete is altyd blokvormig gespasieer as die dier stilstaan. Beef cattle showman walks facing the front. Beef cattle walk faster than dairy animals in the ring. Participants must walk on the left hand-side of cattle, not in front or on the right hand side. Halter must have a chain lead and a lead rope. Show stick are not a must. If beef cattle are shown with a show stick, the stick must be used sparingly. Beef cattle s feet are placed with show stick or if no stick is used the halter may be used to move forward or backward. Beef cattle s feet are spaced in block format, when standing still. Suiwelbeeste /Dairy cattle Melkbees skouman loop agteruit. n Melkbees se agterbene is uitmekaar sodat die beoordelaar die uier kan waarneem as die dier stilstaan. n Melkbees skouman gebruik die dier se halter om dit vorentoe of agtertoe te laat gaan. Die skouman mag ook sy voete gebruik om die voorvoete reg te plaas. 9

10 Dairy cattle showmen walk backwards. Dairy cattle s hind legs are parted in order for the udder to be observed, when standing still. Dairy cattle showmen use the halter to move the animal forwards or backwards. The showman may use his/her feet to move the animal s front feet. PERDE / HORSES Geen helpers word toegelaat in die ring nie. Perde word slegs aan die hand vertoon en word Beoordeel volgens die heersende rasstandaarde. Perde word geskeer volgens rasstandaarde. Geen skere mag gebruik word by voorbereiding van die perd nie No helpers allowed in the ring. Horses will be shown in hand classes only and will be judged according to current breed standards. No scissors may be used at the preparation of a horse WOLSKAPE /WOOLSHEEP Die wollengte moet tussen 4 en 8 maande wees. Dubbeldoelskape wat in die klas gebruik word moet aan wolreëls voldoen. Hoewe moet geknip wees. Wool length must be between 4 and 8 months of growth. Dual purpose sheep that are used must qualify in wool rules. Hooves must be clipped. VLEISSKAPE / MUTTON SHEEP Vleisskape moet geskeer wees. Hoewe moet geknip wees. Dubbeldoelskape wat in die klas gebruik word moet aan vleisreëls voldoen en n maksimum van 5 mm wol op he sodat hy gewas kan word.. Mutton sheep must be sheered. Hooves must be clipped. Dual purpose sheep that are used must qualify in Mutton sheep rules and have a maximum of 5mm wool on them so that they can be washed. VESELBOKKE /FIBRE GOATS Bokke mag nie geskeer wees nie. Minimum vesellengte van 4 maande (Langer as 70 mm) en n maksimum van 6 maande. Goats may not be sheered. Minimum fibre length of 4 months (longer than 70 mm) and a maximum of 6 months KULINêRE KUNS & SUIWELBEREDING / CULINARY ART & DAIRY PRODUCTS Geen ouers sal in voorbereiding lokaal toegelaat word nie. Geen selfone word in die lokaal toegelaat nie. Geen produkte mag uit die lokaal verwyder word voor dat die Beoordelaar nie toestemming gegee het nie. 10

11 No parents are allow in the prep hall. No cell phones are allowed. No Product maybe removed with out the permission of the Judge Deelnemers aan die klasse moet self die produkte op die skou maak en sal daarop asook op die finale produk beoordeel word. Deelnemers moet hul eie toerusting saambring vir die maak en verpakking van die produkte as ook versiering van tafels. Slegs wit eetgerei dws grootbord, kleinbortjie, koppies en pierings wat deur die Gas Provinsie voorsien word mag gebruik word Participants in these classes must make the products on the show and will be judged on how they did it. Participants must bring their own equipment and packaging material for packing there product as well as decorating the table. Only white cutlery, that means big plates, side plates, cups and saucers that will be provided by the Host Province, may be use. PUNTE / POINTS Volledige puntestate moet so spoedig moontlik na afloop van die Kampioenskappe aan elke Provinsie gestuur word. Die beoordeelaar plaas die eerste 5 deelnemers en ken punte toe soos uit een gesit. Final mark sheets should be made available to each Province as soon as possible after the Championships. The judge places the first 5 participants and award points as stipulated. ADVERTENSIES / ADVERTISING Vertoners sal toegelaat word om stoetname en ander advertensiemateriaal alleenlik by hulle stalle te vertoon. Herd name and other advertising material are permitted at the stall area only. BYSTAND EN AFRIGTERS Ouers en raadgewers se bystand is nie toegelaat op enige stadium gedurende deelname aan n item nie. Indien iemand hom skuldig maak daar aan sal hy onmiddelik van die skou terrein verwyder word en verbied word om weer daar te kom. Een afrigter per agt deelnemers word toegelaat. 11

12 Parental and advisors assistance is not permitted at any stage during any event. If someone is found guilty of this they will be removed from the show ground immediately and not allowed to come back. One coach for eight participants is allowed. PROSEDURE VIR APPELERING 1) Die Provinsiale voorsitter, vise-voorsitter en sekretaris van die provinsie wat die appel aanteken moet die saak ondersoek en probeer oplos. 2) Indien onopgelos moet die Provinsiale voorsitter die probleem binne n uur na die voorval plaas gevind het aan die Skou kommitee skriftelik voorlê, vergesel van R500, 00 3) Die Skou kommitee sal op n uitslag besluit. Die besluit is finaal. 4) Indien die besluit ten gunste van die klaer is, sal n maksimum van R400, 00 terugbetaalbaar wees. THE PROCEDURE FOR AN APPEAL: 1) The Provincial chairperson, Vice chairperson and secretary must first investigate the complain and try to resolve the problem. 2) If they can not resolve the complain the chairperson will then lodge the complain from the province to the executive committee together with R500, 00 with in an hour of the incident. 3) The Show Committee, will then decide on a outcome. The decision is final. 4) In the case of a legitimate complain a maximum amount off R400 will be paid back F.
