TNLS Rodeo Tryouts March 22, 2012 Barney Wiggins Arena at 5pm ******TNLS BROILER PICK UP WILL BE MARCH 1, 2012 Polk County 4-H Rodeo Sweetheart Alyssa Puckett CEA 4-H Mark Currie- CEA AG/NR Congratulations to the Polk County 4-H Sweetheart, Paige DeBlasio, 6 th grade student and Livingston 4-H member. Paige is the daughter of Steve and Pam DeBlasio of Livingston. This is her first year to actively participate in 4-H and is showing both breeding goats and meat goats and participates with the 4-H Rodeo Club. Paige and her horse Hickory have been partners for two years and they compete in Team Penning, Ranch Sorting and Barrel Racing. She has been very successful as she has won numerous awards and prizes in each category. Her goals are to compete in Jr. High Rodeo next year and eventually compete in High School Rodeo and attend college where she can be a part of a rodeo team. Paige also is a devoted member of the Central Baptist youth group known as Crave. She is all country, as she enjoys hunting, fishing and skeet shooting. Wish her luck at the TNLS Rodeo! Register on by Monday March 19, st Annual Four-States 4-H Timed Event Championships April 27, States Fair grounds, Texarkana 4 Saddles Awarded Breakaway/Tie Down/Goat Tying/Team Roping etc. Playday Series 2012 Hemphill 4-H Horse Project March 17th, April 21st, May 19th, June 16th High-Point Award Each Playday TEXAS 4-H CONGRESS Texas 4-H Congress is the premiere citizenship and leadership experience for Texas 4-H Members between the ages of 15 & 18. Texas 4-H Congress allows 4-H members to experience the law making process first hand by writing, submitting, and then serving as a member of the House of Representatives, the Senate, The Press, or as a Lobbyist. From these roles, the 4-H members determine the fate of each bill submitted over the four day event. You must be an active 4-H member, be 15 years of ate at the time of event, have a willingness to research and prepare a legislative bill for consideration during the event and be willing to meet new friends, have fun and learn all at the same time. Let us know if you would be interested!!!! The session will be from July 15-18,
3 Beef and Horse Quiz Bowl There will be no quiz bowl practice in march We will pick back up with practice in april after trinity neches livestock show. NO BULL Teen Video Contest Invitation for 4-H Members Fifteen finalists will be selected by a panel to attend the star-studded NO BULL Teen Video Awards show in San Francisco, promoted by Live Nation. The spotlight will shine on the student-made films pertaining to NO BULL. Students have the chance to win thousands of dollars worth of prizes, and have their video presented center stage for the world to witness. Upload the NO BULL videos at Checking Equipment Out from the Office We have a lot of prospect shows coming up and need all our equipment back into the office ASAP. When you check items out please be considerate and return for others to use. Please make sure all items are clean and in good repair. Clipper blades will be sharpened in March during the Houston Livestock Show for our April County show. Please call the office prior to picking up any equipment. Thanks!
