2 Welcome Cattlemen, We would like to welcome you to our annual production sale. It once again has been a roller coaster in the markets. This drop in prices has left many of us scratching our heads. The one thing that has been consistent throughout is the demand for Red Angus Genetics. Red Angus genetics are topping sale barns all over the country. This is the best set of bulls I have raised to date and I am excited for you to come and evaluate them. The depth in this offering is outstanding. It has never been about trying to sell the most bulls I can. It has always has been about selling the best bulls I can. Over the past few years we have spent a lot of money on herd bulls and donor cows in order to bring you the best genetics. It is starting to pay off and really shows in this offering. You will see it in this year s set of bulls. These bulls were weaned on Sept 16. All natural born bulls received no creep feed. We feel its important to know what these bulls can do on the dam s milk and grass. It is also important for us to know how the cow performs in order to cull accordingly. We did creep feed all the ET bulls this year to help them show their full genetic potential in case the recip cow wasn t as good. The bulls are fed a growing diet of corn silage, grass alfalfa mix, corn and distillers and a Vigortone mineral to help semen development. 3 Welcome Welcome, Thank you for making plans to attend our third annual Angus bull sale. We are third-generation ranchers in the heart of North Dakota. We use proven family practices and meticulous management. We have carefully built our herd with traits such as reproductive effi ciency, docility and performance, all in moderately framed cattle. We continue to enhance our bloodlines with the addition of outstanding donor cows from Ellingson Angus, Blair s Angus, and Nelsons Ranches. You will see these results in our sale bulls and phenomenal replacement heifers as our herd continues to incorporate these high end genetics. This set of bulls is the most uniform group of bulls that we have raised. Over half of them are out of the breed-leading AI sires. This year we are offering something new. We have 50k d all of the bulls in the sale. We invested in this newer technology to help guarantee the accuracy in the EPDs. It is our intent to take the guess work out of breeding, especially when it comes to traits like birth weight. These bulls have been fed a ration of alfalfa, corn silage, corn dry distillers and a complete mineral package. These bulls have been fed to grow and mature but not pushed too hard, in order to promote longevity of the bull. The results allow us to share our success with you. You will be pleased with your investment. At weaning, the bull calves and sale heifers received Vista Once SQ, Vision 7 Somnus, vaccinations and pour-on dewormer. Health papers will be furnished sale date for interstate shipment. In this catalog you will fi nd a few bulls with larger birth weights. Each calf born on our facility is weighed on an electric scale. These weights are 100% accurate, they are NOT taken with a foot tape or lifted up with a bouncing scale. These dams have the pelvic capacity in which to have a larger birth weight calf and their calves are shaped right with a small head and smooth in their shoulder allowing them to be born with no assistance. 4 Sale Information SALE ORDER/SUPPLEMENT SHEET A sale order sheet will be available sale day, along with a supplement sheet with scrotal measurements and adjusted yearling weights. Red Angus bulls and heifers will sell in catalog order. LUNCH: A complimentary sale day lunch will be served. INSURANCE: Bulls that are purchased sale day become the buyers responsibility as soon as they are sold. We recommend insuring your bulls on sale day if they are staying at the ranch. TERMS AND CONDITIONS Terms of the sale are cash. Phone or mail bids are welcome and may be given to the auctioneer or any of the sale representatives. Live bidding will be available online at Please review the below information and register early so you are approved as a bidder in plenty of time before the sale. Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder. Any bidding disputes will be settled by the auctioneer. Any person attending the sale does so at his/her own risk. Neither the owners, no any person connected with this sale assumes any liability, legal or otherwise. Cattle will sell according to the terms and conditions suggested by the Red Angus Association of America and/or American Angus Association. GUARANTEE Ressler Angus Ranch/Twedt Red Angus guarantees all bulls selling for $2,550 or more against breeding injury for the fi rst breeding season. Breeding season is defined as the 90-day period following the first turnout of the bull(s). If a replacement bull is available, he will be provided, or If buyer prefers, credit toward one bull will be given in the following year s sale, less salvage value of the injured bull. Under no circumstance will Ressler Angus Ranch/Twedt Red Angus be liable for more than the net purchase price of any bull. Please notify Ressler Angus Ranch/Twedt Red Angus as soon as possible, should such an injury occur, to make your claim and arrange your return of the injured bull. This guarantee ends the end of the purchase year. Should the bull die however, he will not be covered by this guarantee. Pink Eye and Foot Rot shots are available on request at the time they are semen tested. STRA Trending 618 has been a standout since birth. He s dark cherry red, deep ribbed, super thick and has a big rear end on him. This is the most complete bull I have raised. His dam is a Glacier Logan 210 daughter that has proven the test of time at age 12. She still has an outstanding udder and foot. She was purchased from Jacobson Red Angus where she was also a donor cow. She left her mark on his herd and now she is doing the same here. His sire is Bieber Rollin Deep who is no longer producing semen. This is a prime candidate to replace him. This is a must-see bull to fully appreciate him. We sold four full brothers to this bull in last year s sale. They all sold towards the top with one of them being the second high-selling bull to Dennis Erble. She brings a top bull to the sale every year. This bull is a twin and we were getting so many twins we left both calves on the cow. She was pictured this summer after having the twins with both calves on her! This is one outstanding bull! Sometimes when I see a calf with this much performance, it s hard to recommend him for heifers but with a CED of 11 and -3.8 for BW, I think he will be just fi ne. He also is in the top 3 % for Milk EPD. They are Simmental-Red Angus cross heifers. The Simmental bulls used are mostly Kjelgaard Simmental bulls and the Red Angus are Twedt Red Angus bulls. This is one awesome pen of heifers. The heifers are Bangs vaccinated and guaranteed open. These heifers were all weighed on January 5 and were weighing an average weight of 775 lbs. with the top heifer weighing 875 lbs. and the smallest heifer weighing 715.They are one even group of heifers. These heifers could go into anyone s herd and make a difference backed by years of genetic selection for fertility and performance. This is a must-see group of heifers.
