2 On behalf of everyone at MRL we would like to welcome and invite fellow breeders and commercial cattlemen to the ranch December 12th for our Herdbuilders 14 Female Production Sale. As cattlemen we have all been talking about it and we ve been promising this surge in cattle prices for the past couple of years to our customers. I tell you what it is well deserved and maybe even better than we expected. Hats off to those hardnosed cattlemen and women that stuck with it. Now hang on and enjoy the ride- its gonna last awhile. This record setting cycle presents great opportunity for those of you in the business. Take advantage of the salvage market, cull extremely hard off the bottom end of your herds, your older stock and in some cases your replacement heifers that are worth record prices and re-invest in young bred females and the best genetics you can find. These heifers will give you another calf next fall to sell at record prices and put your herd in a position to be extremely profitable over the next few years of this peak cycle and also young productive and the best genetics to stay in the black through the next valley. The most frustrating part of the cattle business from the standpoint of improvement is it is slow. Believe me we have been working tirelessly at genetic improvement with large numbers for over 40 years. With our numbers and dedication there seems to be a time when things start to snowball. We believe the past few years we have finally got there with our cowherd. It is amazing that with over 750 breeding females this spring how many actually go back to 15 or 20 elite cow families we have been building on. We welcome you to take advantage of over 40 years of breeding progress and step right in at the top of our program with exclusive genetics and proven cow families. Our 2014 herdbuilder lineup will mark the largest group and most intriguing genetics that we have ever shared with the industry in the history of MRL. Each and every category boasts donor type females and front pasture females from the heart of our herd. Some of the breeds most exciting genetics and in most cases exclusive to MRL and our customers. The black division will be lead by sire groups such as MRL Integrity, LER Predator and MRL Hammer all exclusive sires with no semen ever being sold. The reds by new sires such as LFE Casino, First Choice, KOP True North and MRL Destination. This will be the first bred heifers offered for sale out of all these sires. The majority of the fullblood sires by the powerful Justified bull and the most powerful set of Angus females we have let go by Six Mile Avatar, Bar EL Warden, MRLA New Era, Lazy MC Detour and MRLA 61X. Service sires include exclusive sires such as MRL Destination, IPU Red Western, LER Predator and MRL Driller as well as MRL Red Force, KWA Red Mountain, Black Edition, High Voltage, and In Dew Time. The commercial bred heifer offering are very similar in type and kind to the purebred heifers and are made up of the same genetic structure.
