This has been a tough year but the best cattle prices we have ever witnessed will soon be upon us. I want to stress our main value to you is our breeding program. It is not to tout a bull s ra-ra pedigree or sell you a fat bull that looks like he has a lot of muscle. But, rather to help you NET MORE $$$ from a methodical, economic and reality driven approach to commercial beef production. Our bulls selling are not perfect. No bulls are. What they will do is deliver what we tell you. The drought started for us last fall and it killed our weaning weights so we decided not to publish them. If you want to really choose the right bull for your program I suggest you call me as I can point you in the right direction or no direction if we don t have a bull that meets your specs. As for the heifers I want to remind you this is a long term program. We have sunk a ton of effort into developing them and they have been culled ruthlesslessly. There are some really nice purebred cows selling. We will provide DNA cards for any calves born to unknown sires as we run multiple bulls in our breeding traps. Our goal is not to have zillions of buyers, just the high quality, net profit driven ones whom enjoy enduring and profitable relationships that last a lifetime. 16 Thistledew Cattle Company The Common Sense Cowman Breeding Program For years we followed the conventional wisdom that what we wanted were balance trait cows. We bred, owned and propagated balanced trait cows pure maternal and growth cows. Our experience led us to the conclusion that all we made was the jack of all trades, master of none cow.
