2 120 BULLS TAT WORK REFERENCE SIRES 120 Bulls That Work will go under the hammer at 1.00pm on August 16. This marks our 26th annual on-property bull sale. An exciting selection of Australian, New Zealand and American sires. GLENOC INMAN 221 (AI) Established in 1971, Sandon Glenoch Angus (SGA) is owned and operated by the Boshammer family and Jack Atkin, and is primarily located near Chinchilla in Southern Queensland. Our on-property sale will kick off at 1.00pm on Wednesday August 16, where 120 rising two-year-old bulls will be auctioned 111 Angus and 9 Brangus. ighlights include 32 sons of our own homebred sire Glenoch inman 221. Out of all of the bulls we have used over the past 40 years, inman has the best hair type suited for Queensland conditions, and when seasons get tough his progeny seem to hold on better. inman himself is very structurally correct, quiet, with moderate birth and his progeny grow quickly. e now has over 130 progeny recorded, and through scan results his IMF EBV is well in the top 1% for the Angus breed. We feel so much about this bull that we submitted him into the Angus Sire Benchmarking Program and he is part of Cohort 7. In this program approximately 40 sires are selected, we submit 50 straws of semen which are used in co-operator herds through fixed time A.I. The average preg-test across all sires was 55% (about industry average for fixed time A.I.), and inman s results were 69%. Progeny will then have live animal data and on the hook carcase data recorded for Breedplan. is mother D80, has been a great cow to us, not only has she proven herself for fertility with eight calves and an average calving interval of 366 days, but she also produces a top calf every time. She has always calved in the first 1-2 weeks of our calving period since her first as a two year old. inman is a sire that consistently improves every calf. e is now five years old, sound and working in a commercial multiple sire joining herd and has proven himself against all the criteria for Queensland conditions. Other sires include proven calving ease A.I. sires Matauri Reality and Rennylea Edmund. Both of these bulls offer similar traits for moderate growth and carcase weight, high fat and high fertility traits, and are highly recommended for producers searching for heifer bulls and/or those targeting organic and grassfed markets. For existing customers looking for new and different sires, there are eight sons by Jindra Double Vision, nine by Baldridge Download and three by PCA Intensity. Double Vision and Download are outcross genetics, while Intensity has some similarities to genetics we have used before. All three bulls are big capacity type bulls with plenty of depth in their flank. Download is a balanced, moderate bull, Double Vision offers high growth, and Intensity offers high growth, IMF and EMA. Also on offer are sons of breed legends Ardrossan Equator A241 (eight sons) and Tuwharetoa Regent D145 (10 sons). There are a number of bulls that have a cross of both these sires, and are sure to impress. The Brangus bulls get better and better every year. They are treated no differently to the Angus; yearling mated and all data is recorded and submitted to Breedplan. All of the Brangus bulls have F707 in their pedigree. e has been a great bull, and his progeny grow quickly. e is one of the best proven sires for Eye Muscle Area in the Brangus breed (in the top 1%), with a balance of traits elsewhere. F707 is now seven years old and in very sound condition. As always all bulls have EBVs, crush-side semen and morphology, dam fertility data, blooded, Pesti Virus tested negative, drenched and vaccinated for 5 in 1, Lepto, Vibrio, 3 Day and Bovillus IBR. There are 49 bulls out of 7-year-old to 14-year-old cows proper good cows that are only identified with time. On Saturday 22nd July our bulls will be on display, penned up in their catalogue order as part of the QCL Beef Week Open Day.
