1 2018 J.C.J.S.P. Sweetheart & Princess Contestant Rules Eligibility Contestants must be ages 6-11 for Sweetheart and for Princess. Contestants must be female, never married and have no children. Contestants shall sign a liability waiver; See attached. Contestants must agree to abide by contest rules with the possibility of disqualification for infractions. As Sweetheart and Princess, the winning contestant must be available to fulfill all required duties of her reign. Contestants must be a resident of Johnson County, Texas. Rules and Regulations Contestant must read all rules and regulations. f there are any questions, don t hesitate to ask for clarification from a Contest Coordinator. Contestants must sign a Release of liability form and complete the application form before the deadline. Each contestant is required to create a poster, be creative. Posters can be no smaller than 22 x 28 (standard poster size). Posters will be judged at either a JCJSP playday or the Cleburne Youth Rodeo; date to be determined, and winners will be announced at the awards banquet. There will be a $25 entry fee due at the time of application. Each contestant will be required to participate in fundraising to aid in raising money for contest awards. Contestants must conduct themselves in a proper lady-like manner and portray high moral standards at all times. Rudeness towards judges, other contestants, contest coordinators, fans, posse members or affiliates will not be tolerated. Such conduct may result in a disqualification without refund of entry fee. Contestants will draw for positions before the horsemanship competition. Contestants must provide their own wardrobe and follow the guidelines listed. See the Attire section of Contestant Rules. 1

2 Contestants must ride the same horse that they compete on at the J.C.J.S.P playdays; A current Coggins will be required. Tack used during the competition should be sufficient to control the horse. Split reins are preferred, but not required. The selected horsemanship patterns are included in this packet. mmediately following the horsemanship patterns, the contestant will be asked to make a queen s run. Then will be asked to dismount for a brief interview with the judges. The Sweetheart and Princess will be crowned at the awards banquet, date to be determined. n the event that the reigning Sweetheart or Princess cannot fulfill her duties, her awards must be forfeited to the first runner up who assumes their duties as the J.C.J.S.P. sweetheart/princess. No parents, friends or relatives will be allowed in the arena during the judged competition. Contestant with the highest points in horsemanship and poster contest will be the new J.C.J.S.P. Sweetheart and Princess. All decisions of the judges are final. The J.C.J.S.P. reserves the right to alter any rule and has the authority over any rule discrepancy. The sweetheart & princess will be required to ride in local parades, the Sr. Posse Rodeo, the Cleburne Youth Rodeo and J.C.S.P. PRCA rodeo grand entries. as part of her duties. f a Sweetheart or Princess is to miss and event it must be cleared by the sweetheart/ princess Coordinator(s) first. Attire Western attire consisting of long sleeve shirt, Jeans, boots and felt hat. All clothing must be neatly pressed. ***No low cut shirts. Sweetheart & Princess Contestant Liability Release The undersigned does hereby voluntarily assume all risks arising out of and/or connected with the participation in the J.C.J.S.P Sweetheart & Princess Contest, and does hereby release the J.C.J.S.P, agents, volunteers, and/or offices, and all other persons associated with the organization, for any and all claims and causes of action that may result in any injury to the undersigned or to the participating person which has sustained or may be sustained, and from any and all damages to property belonging to the undersigned that may be a result of her participation in the J.C.J.S.P Sweetheart & Princess Contest.
