Cambridge Springs, PA Vice Chairman: Jessica Manross, Allen Rd., Cambridge Springs, PA Exhibitors must be members of a regularly organized Crawford County 4-H Club and in good standing under the supervision of the Pennsylvania State University Cooperative Extension. All 4-H members with animal projects must participate in Showmanship and Grooming/Fitting classes, if offered; to be eligible for type classes at Roundup unless they obtain permission to be excused for school classes or further education. 4-H Market Beef will be weighed in on Sunday, August 20 th at 3:30 p.m. All animal entries MUST be entered in the Fair Entry Program by Friday, July 13, The Fair website will have a link to the Fair Entry Program. Follow the instructions to log in to enter your animals. Returning exhibitor: New Exhibitor account: /2251 The Hold Harmless exhibitor statement, IAFE National Code of Show Ring Ethics and VCPR statement must be agreed to on-line when making entries. Once all entries are completed for each individual department, print out the Animal Entry Payment 177

2 Confirmation and mail it with a check payable to the Crawford County Fair to the respective Open Department Chairman. Entries will not be officially accepted by the Department Chairmen until payment is received. Deadline: Postmarked by Friday, July 20, NOTE: There is no additional entry fee for 4-H Departments, only for Open Departments. Registration papers and Health papers must be presented at check-in on Saturday, August 18, 2017, from 8:00 AM to Noon and 2:00-6:00 p.m. Beef will be released at 8:00 PM on Saturday. A copy of health papers must be given to the Department Chairman at check-in. The Fair Veterinarian, Dr. Nicole Drummond, is responsible for supervising checking in animals onto the Fairgrounds and has the final word on removal of animals from the grounds for health reasons. If a Veterinarian is needed for any other medical reason, you as the exhibitor, are responsible for all treatment costs incurred. 1. When on exhibition in the ring, each animal must be under halter and in charge of the owner or owner representative. 2. Breeding animals must be in owner's name and care no later than May 1 of the current year. See Health Regulations in Open Beef Dept. 06 Hay, grain, and bedding are to be furnished by the exhibitor. SECTION 1 4-H BREEDING PROJECT All animals shown in a breed must be registered 75% to be shown in their breed show. Classification and premiums listed are to apply to each of these breeds: 1. Black Angus 5. Maintainer 9. Sim Solution 2. Polled Hereford 6. Shorthorn 10. All Other Breeds 3. Limousine 7. Shorthorn Plus 11. Commercial 4. Maine Anjou 8. Simmental Place Prem

Bred & Owned Dam registration papers SECTION 2 4-H MARKET BEEF The beef will not be judged separately by breeds. Animals will be divided as equally as possible. Beef are to be weighed at the Fair on Sunday afternoon. All animals shown under this Section must be castrated, including two year projects. Those beef below 900 lbs. will be shown in the feeder beef class. Heifers may not compete in both breeding and feeder classes. Premiums shall apply to all beef classes as follows: Place Prem Class 1 Class 2 thru? 4 SECTION 3 4-H SHOWMANSHIP AND FITTING Premiums shall apply to all showmanship and fitting classes as follows: Place Prem Classes will be divided as equally as possible into groups of about ten per class according to the 4-H age. Either a breeding animal or a beef may be shown in these classes. Must be a 4-H project animal. For fitting contest purposed premiums an individual animal may be shown in one fitting class only. Note: Only animals that are pre-entered and qualify for the sale classes will be permitted to participate. Please notify Department Chairman at time of weigh-in. Selection will be made from the highest placing qualified individual from each weight class showing for an overall champion. An award will be presented at time of selection.
