4 WELCOME! I d like to welcome you to our 4th annual Midwest Versatility Horse Sale. This year after 25 years of starting my horse program, we are having a partial dispersal. While rodeoing I met a man by the name of Sherrick Grantham from Kirkland Ar- i - zona. In 1989, Sherrick sent me eight, own daughters of Orphan Drift and three granddaughters of Driftwood Ike. These Driftwood bred mares were the kind of horses people became famous on in Arizona. My first stud was a grandson of Leo, my second stud is a own son of Frosty Feature, now 20 years old. My third stud is a son of Frenchmans out of one of those Sherrik Grantham mares called. (Pal) was by far the best heeling horse I ve ever rode. When you are in the business this long you will find certain lines to become proud of. We have not only raised producing mare, but also rode and trained these horses to compete at the very top level of completion. Remember, your never take a chicken sandwich to a prime rib dinner! Our horses have been started the same way, with no short cuts. Time and persistence with the truth about what we re doing is the best. These horses will produce and perform for you the way they have for us. We are always here to help you along the way. Most of the time we can help over the phone or come to the place and ride with us. Paul Tierney RECOMMENDATION FROM LAURIE ARMSTRONG In October I purchased a breakaway horse from Paul for my 16 year old daughter for high school rodeo. The horse was still green but Paul assured us that he would help my daughter finish him. I was a bit skeptical since we live 6 hours away but after he spent the weekend working with her I thought I d take a chance. Well, as it turned out, she began to have some training difficulties and after talking it through with Paul he agreed the best thing would be for me to bring the horse back for additional training. After he had the horse for 60 days I was to bring my daughter back to work with him for the weekend. She learned a tremendous amount about roping and training horses that weekend. So now we are in our spring season of high school rodeo and she calls Paul to inform him of her success as well as non-success and to ask any questions she may have about her horse or her roping. Paul is always there for her and that is something I greatly appreciate and could never put a price on! 2 RECOMMENDATION FROM ROBIN ANDERSON We purchased Sis, at last fall s sale for our 13 year-old daughter. She was sold as a finished head-horse and barrel horse who had also been used some in the breakaway. I can t tell you how much we love this horse. Our daughter, Cedar, is currently using her for Jr. High rodeos in Breakaway, Barrels, Poles and Heeling. We have also headed steers on her. Cedar placed 4th on her in the poles with only about 8 weeks of pole patterning on her. She won the breakaway at the second rodeo she ever competed on her. She has the kindest disposition and is willing to do whatever we ask of her. If we had room for another horse right now, I would be bidding on her 3 year-old full sister that they are offering for sale. Every horse being presented as sound, by the best knowledge of the Seller. Any known issues will be addressed in the sale ring. Look over you potential choice, & ask any questions, before the SALE starts. 2. BIDDING PROCESS Highest bidder is to be the Buyer. Bidding disputes to be settled according to the sole & final authority of Auctioneer. Auctioneer reserves right to accept any, or all bids. Right to bid reserved for all sellers, unless otherwise announced. 3. OWNERSHIP Horses to be held at Buyer s Risk, Expense & Responsibility from time Gavel Drops. Buyer shall sign the Purchase Acknowledgement. No delivery is to be made, or possession taken, until final settlement is concluded. 4. PAYMENT Payment is Cash in United States Currency payable immediately after sale Only exception to the above is by arrangement prior to sale. Checks will be considered cash & as Payment in Full, once they have cleared the bank. Absentee Buyers must have made arrangements to do so with MVHS Office three days prior to sale date. Pay cashier ONLY, in all cases. No payment, in any part to be made to the consignor. Upon final approved payment, cashier will issue an ORDER to be presented to stable manager for possession of appropriate purchased horse, A No Sale horse sold outside of the arena, is still subject to consignment fee by the seller, or no brand inspection or other necessary paperwork will be issued for said horse. 5. WARRANTIES Horses guaranteed for one week after sale, if returned in same condition. Any injury occurring after the sale is sole responsibility of Buyer. Buyer may have Broodmare examined by Veterinarian, before mare is removed from sale premises. If Broodmare is not found to be as certified, she may be returned to Consignor as UNSOLD.
