2 Livestock bedding for the fair has been donated. Country Kids club members need to contact Margaret Drott for information specific to the Country Kids club. Livestock Entry Times Rabbits & Poultry: 6-8 pm, Tuesday, August 15 & 8-10 am, Wednesday, August 16 Horse: 1-3 & 5-7 pm, Wednesday, August 16 Sheep & Goats: 6:30-7:30 pm, Wednesday, August 16 Beef: 7:30-9 pm, Wednesday, August 16 Swine: 8 pm, Wednesday, August 16 Bucket Calf Record Books are due Wednesday evening, August 16 at the Office. If the office is closed, please use the black drop box by the north office door. OR leave it in the breakroom (access through the fair office). LIVESTOCK RELEASE: All Livestock will be released at 5:30 pm on Sunday, August 20. Special release only through notification to the Extension Office. Includes all large & small animals. Stanton County Fair Info Pre entry Forms & Entry Tags Pre-entry forms were due July 17. Entry tags for indoor exhibits will be printed from your pre-entries and will be ready to pick up on July 28. Thank-you to the Donors Thank-you cards will be available at the Extension Office or breakroom (access through fairboard office) during the fair. All Grand and Reserve Champion winners will need to write thank-you notes before you will receive your premium money.

3 Fashion Show Entry Forms All 4-H ers enrolled in Clothing & Quilt Quest should have received a Fashion Show entry form in the mail. Please complete the form along with a narrative for each entry. Deadline is July 26. Judging will be on Wednesday, August 2 at 8:45 am. You may model as many outfits as you wish for fashion show judging. NOTE: Public Fashion Show will be Saturday, August 19 at 2 pm. 4-H ers will be limited to 2 outfits and 1 quilt for the Public Fashion Show. Deadline to let the office know which outfits you are styling for the public is August 11. Pre-Fair Judging Day August 2 (Everything in the middle colored section of the fairbook.) Exhibits will be entered between 8-8:45 am. Judging will begin at 8:45 am. All clothing, fashion show, photography & general exhbits will be entered at the 4-H Exhibit Hall. Home Environment and Quilts will be entered at the Exension Office. Favorite Foods Revue judging will be at 11 at the Exhibit Hall. The Companion Animal and Cat Show will be held at 2 pm at the Extension Office break room. Health papers are required for cats. Please turn in to the Extension Office. Exhibit Hall Check-In page is enclosed. Procedures for entry/judging are outlined for you. The dog show will be held on Friday, August 11 at 9 am at the Fair Board Shelter for the baseball field. Health papers need to be turned into the office prior to the show. Fair Judging August 16 Ag Miscellaneous, Foods & Horticulture exhibits will be judged August 16. Exhibits will be entered at the 4-H Exhibit Hall Tuesday, August 15 from 5:15-6:30 pm & Wednesday, August 16 from 7:30-8:30 am. Judging will begin at 8:45 am.

4 Horticulture Exhibitors Pre-entry forms will be mailed in late July to each exhibitor. Bring those to the office during entry time and tags will be printed for you. Forms must be complete with variety or cultivar name. You may transport your horticulture exhibits to the fair in a box, but bring a paper plate to exibit on for juding. Free booklets are available to help you prepare your exhibits for the fair. They are available for download on our website or stop by the office for a copy. Herdsmanship guidelines are in the 2017 fairbook. Beef, sheep, goat, swine horse, rabbit and poultry will be judged separately with 1 st & 2 nd awards for each specie. Overall 4-H ers can only win 1 st place once and 2 nd place once. Livestock Judging Contest will be held Saturday, August 19 at 10 am in the Livestock Pavilion. This contest is open to all 4-H ers. It is a fun contest. Saturday, August 19 Schedule 2 pm Public Fashion Show Please get your garments from your booth & be ready to go by 1:50 pm. the fashion show order will be posted for you. 4-H Auction including the raffle will follow the Fashion Show. If donating any food items, be sure they are fresh & have a way be kept cool while the purchaser attends fair events. The 4-H Council uses this money to support the 4-H program. 4-H Awards Program the Awards Program will follow the 4-H Auction. An awards recipient list will be posted by the north door at the exhibit hall. If your name is circled, you will be receiving a special recognition. Your name and award will be read and you can come forward to receive it. During the awards program, please wear your 4-H t-shirt or the outfit you wore in the Fashion Show. Pictures will be taken after the awards program.

5 IMPORTANT 4-H Awards Program Information The only awards that will be read at the Awards Program will be Indoor and Shooting Sports Awards. All livestock and small animal awards are presented at the shows and will not be part of the Awards Program. You will find listed on the Stanton County Fair website 4-H Appreciation Cookout Thursday, August 17 at 6 pm - Livestock Pavilion area. The 4-H Clover Chase is still going on through August 15. Take photos and collect points. We have special water bottles for anyone who finishes. Get your friends together, spend an afternoon and take some fun photos! You can get there through the fair office. State Fair Exhibits If you have the privilege of having 1 (or more) of your indoor exhibits selected for State Fair, you will find a green Selected for State Fair ribbon and a bright pink State fair exhibitor letter attached to your exhibit. The Extension Office will transport your exhibit both to and back from the Nebraska State Fair in Grand Island. Large items or furniture will need to be transported by the exhibitor to State Fair due to space. IMPORTANT Deadline Information NON_PERISHABLE exhibits You may bring your State Fair exhibits to the Extension Office on Sunday evening of the Stanton County Fair OR make any necessary changes and bring them to the office Monday, August 21 or Tuesday, August 22 by 10 am. Please follow State Fair rules in getting your exhibit ready. All PERISHABLE exhibits - (Food & Horticulture) exhibits need to be at the Extension Office no later than Tuesday, August 22 at 2 pm.
