If you need to bring something different for lunch, please do so. Register by July 18. We will be making a garden treasure jar, string art project, Horticulture Harry and science experiments. Day Camp is open to all Dawson County 4-H'ers and Cloverbuds. We could use junior leaders for helpers. If you sold three credits of fruit you get to go FREE. If you did not sell that many or have used up all your credits, the cost is $5. Lunch is included in this. PICTURES FOR THE PAPER- July 30 Every year the Ranger Review has a full page ad about 4-H clubs, projects and members. We need pictures representing different activities, projects, etc. Will your club be represented? We hope so. Bring your pictures into the Extension office By July 30. You may also want to put together a club picture collage for the fair. DRESS REVUE, Wed July 30, 1:30 pm The dress revue has been set for Wednesday, July 30 at 1:30 pm at the Moose Club. Practice will start at 1:30 p.m., judging & the public revue at 3:00 p.m. There will be no evening revue. By Friday, July 25 you need to bring or send in your script typed or neatly written on a large recipe card along. If you do your own script it saves the committee time in doing them. Let us know how many outfits you'll be modeling also. Please pre-register, The day of the revue bring your outfits and accessories (shoes to match, jewelry, etc.) Bring along a dozen cookies for the revue that afternoon. The 4-H Council will furnish punch, coffee & decorations.
2 Invite your parents, grandparents and friends to the revue. FAIR ENTRY BLANKS - Due July 25 Enclosed are your entry blanks do not misplace them as this is the only one you will receive. If you are planning on entering your 4-H projects in the fair you need to pre-register by Friday July 25.(bring them to Day Camp) We are doing things like last year and will have everyone entered on a computer program and therefore need advance entries earlier to get all of you on the computer. If you are not pre-registered, you will not have an entry blank at the fair, you won't be on the computer sheet for the judges and you will not get a premium check at the fair as the computer will do all of that for us this year. REMEMBER THEY ARE DUE BACK TO THE OFFICE BY JULY 25! For new families, the 4-H fair book is printed and available for you to pick up here at the Extension Office. They are a little bulky, so we do not mail. We would like for you to keep it in your 4-H binder that you should have around the house putting all of your 4-H letters into. Save the fair book as we do not print them every year. New items in the fairbook from last year are: Under posters and misc, you can now bring 2 craft day items and 2 day camp items, plus the planter to beautify the fairgrounds. These are in Class 48 lots Lot 13 is a poster relating to animal project, 14. Parts of an animal, 15. Any other option, 16. Any other poster, 17. Anatomy of an animal. A serged item has been added to sewing 13, 40D, 21, and Class 75 of teen leadership has been added with project book and any other item relating to the project as lot numbers. New items this year are some quilt and crichet changes and new horse posters. Pick up your entry tags, stall cards and pay stall fees at the office also. If Sherry is not in the office the tags and fair books are on the table in the hallway. Remember to sign up for an open class entry blank also, especially poultry and livestock. FOODSTAND SIGN UP The sign up for work in the foodstand at the fair will start now and the deadline to call in with a preference is July 30. Please call the Extension Office anytime with your preferred times. The office does not have time to call everyone, so PLEASE TAKE IT UPON YOURSELF TO CALL THE OFFICE OR YOUR LEADER WITH A LIST OF TIMES THAT YOU WOULD BE ABLE TO WORK. (Time schedule follows) Shifts are filled as calls are received. First called, first choice. No whole shifts can be blocked off by one club. All 4-H Kids plus all parents are asked to work. Those who have won trips
3 must work 2 or more shifts.(congress & Jr Hi trip) IF YOU DON'T CALL US WITH A TIME PREFERENCE, YOU WILL BE PLACED WHERE NEEDED! We ask that each family furnish two homemade pies OR one pan of bars. Remember pies sell better than the bars, so if you can do pies, it would be appreciated.(no cream pies, please and that includes chocolate, lemon, pecan, pumpkin or custard) The sanitarian makes us throw them out, so please do not even bring them. We could use strawberry, cherry, peach, apple, rhubarb. We are serving the breakfast menu and will start shifts at 8:00 am. However, Pam Harwood has moved out of town and will not be able to cook the breakfast shift. Therefore we need cooks for this shift. Please let Connie know if you can help out here. We also need help for the night shifts so if someone from your club can work this shift, please sign them up. The open horse show has been moved to Wednesday so we will be open that day also. If you can work two shifts we may need your help, please volunteer and adhere to this schedule. Please be on time and wear a hat or cap or pull your hair into a ponytail! If you do not have something for your hair, hairnets will be available. Our manager this year is Connie Undem and she has asked for more cooks to help out at the fair.
