E mail:- kimmoloney@britishdressage.co.uk Tel: st February, 2009 Dear All, CENTRAL REGION CAMP 2009 Please find attached programme for our residential camp at Bury Farm EC, Mill Road, Slapton, Buckinghamshire LU7 9BT from the evening of Friday 1 st May to Sunday 3 rd May. If you would like to take a look at the facilities etc. please review their website at You will need to arrive at Bury Farm ideally between 4pm and 7pm. We will all meet in the restaurant around 7.30pm for the debriefing including the weekend timetable. Trainers We have some fantastic trainers and judges on hand to train you all including our very own British Olympic rider Nicola McGivern, Garry Williams who has represented GB during 2007 and 2008 at the World Breeding Championships with his wonderful stallion Showmaker, James Burtwell who is a L3 judge, trainer and International rider and Nick Turner FBHS and top International Event Rider. Lecturers We have Dengie Horse Feeds who will talk about feeding the competition horse, you will also receive goody bags from them, Sarah Randall MRCV s who will talk about lameness in the dressage horse, Lee Harris who is our team sports massage therapist who will take each one of you on a practical session and we have one other yet to be confirmed, I am hoping it will be a sports psychologist. Central Region Team Riders Those of you wishing to apply for a place on a Central Region Team for the British Dressage Inter-regionals at Keysoe in May will be required to ride the test of your choice on your application form on the Sunday afternoon of camp. I have attached a copy of the Inter-regionals schedule for your information. 1

PAY: The College No refunds after close of entries. Substitutions permitted. CL TEST ENTRY FEE PRIZES 1 Inter Regional Team Competition Preliminary for Grp 8/7 Sat. P15; Sun P19 Novice for Grp 8-6 Sat. N22; Sun N38 Elementary for Grp 8-5 Sat. E43; Sun E53 Medium for Grp 8-4 Sat. M64; Sun M per Team Prizes & Rosettes for all Each Team to comprise 4 riders from the region. Each of the specified Team tests must be ridden according to the rider group eligibility specified, with no more than two riders in a team riding the same level of tests. Riders to be18 & over. Team Competition to be decided on 3 highest scores each day combined (six scores to count, with the lowest % dropped each day). ENTRY RESTRICTIONS: 18 years old & over (01/01/09) from Grps 8 4 who have not & will not have competed at Winter Championships and National Championships in the current or preceding year or BYRDS 2

3 Inter regional competition in STABLING: Booked via RDOs by 09/05/09 60 for show duration (Fri-Sun nights, but can accommodate longer if required). Bedding not included, Cardboard 6.50, Straw Please pre book bedding if possible. Please be on site before 8.00pm if you wish to purchase/collect bedding. ENTERTAINMENTS: Introduction & briefing Friday night, followed by Pig Roast & vegetarian option, please pre pre-book Saturday evening entertainment. All Entertainments (incl. pig roast) will be FREE. CATERING: Restaurant open 7am to 8pm Saturday and 7am to end of show Sunday. Later evening meals on Sunday can be booked. PRIZE GIVING: Will be unmounted and after the competition is finished on Sunday. COMPETITION RULES: Whips and Commanders are permitted. Normal BD rules apply. Rider must be eligible for rider group at close of entries. Grading points will NOT be awarded. Non Team Riders For those of you who do not want to ride on the teams you will ride the test of your choice on your application form on the Saturday afternoon. Stabling We have a mixture of permanent and temporary stabling available to us and the cost is 26 per night payable to Bury Farm EC. Straw bedding is included. If you require shavings these will be available to you at cost from Bury Farm when you arrive. Please advise on your application. When you arrive on the Friday you will be shown to your allocated stable and collect your bedding. You will be required to leave a cash deposit of 25 with the stable manager. This will be refunded to you in full when you leave on the Sunday provided you have banked your bedding up and swept the middle of the stable out. You will need to bring your own mucking out tools and water buckets. Costs The cost of the camp is 195 payable to British Dressage and the cost of the stabling is 52 payable to Bury Farm EC. We will be limited on places so please send me a deposit of 50 to secure your place. Full balances will be due no later than 15 th April. Refunds will only be made upon receipt of a vets certificate or a doctors note where a refund of 50% will be made. What to I get for my 195? Friday Everyone -Champagne reception, dinner and music.and allocation of weekend timetable, test times etc. Saturday Non team riders:- Lesson, two lectures and one ridden test from Prelim to PSG 3

4 Team riders:- 2 lessons, two lectures Saturday evening everyone:- awards ceremony, supper with music & bucking broncho! Sunday Non team riders:- 2 lessons & two lectures Team riders Lesson, two lectures and viewing test session for the teams Sunday tea time for all:- prizegiving and farewell in restaurant Tests Competition dress and turnout please. Who can go to camp? In Central Region we pride ourselves on training everyone from riders that have only just started to learn including non members right through to Grand Prix riders. No horse under four years old may take part. Riders must be aged eighteen or over. Provided you can walk, trot and canter then this camp is for you. The horses will come in all shapes and sizes from the faithful old family pony through to those aiming for a place at PSG level on the teams. It will be fun, informative and you will make many friends. You can come on your own as the region is so welcoming there will never be a dull moment guaranteed! You are welcome to bring along partners, friends etc to help you and they are welcome to spectate at the ridden sessions and they may also attend the lectures free of charge. They will however have to pay for their supper & entertainment on the Friday evening and on the Saturday evening at 10 per night. Dogs Bury Farm operate a no dogs policy. This is a strict policy and I am very sorry but no dogs are allowed no exceptions. Lorries & Trailers You will be met at the gates on Friday from 4pm until 7pm and will be shown where to park your lorry or trailer. There is no electrical hookup generators only. Camping You are allowed to camp at Bury Farm for no charge Showers & Toilets There are excellent clean facilities available to us 24 hours a day 4

5 Restaurant Your supper will be provided within the cost of camp on the Friday evening and the Saturday evening. The restaurant opens around 7.30am and closes when the last person leaves. Hot and cold food is available for purchase all weekend. The bar is opens all hours! You may bring along your own food and drink but it is not allowed to be consumed at Bury Farm EC restaurant. Finally, I look forward to meeting with you all once again and welcoming those that are new to Central Region Training.
