We are presenting the 7th Annual City of Santa Fe Triathlon on Saturday, September 20, and the 3rd Annual Kids Triathlon on Sunday, September 21. The City of Santa Fe Triathlon, now in its 7th year, has become a favorite of locals and visitors alike. The addition of a kids triathlon with races for ages 5 12 year olds, provides a setting that is friendly for the whole family. Dear Business and Community Partner, The City of Santa Fe and the Genoveva Chavez Community Center invite you to join us as we gear up to present the 7th Annual City of Santa Fe Triathlon and the 3nd Annual Kids Triathlon. Last year s event was a huge success with more than 300 participants. The feedback from participating athletes was overwhelmingly positive, with compliments about the Genoveva Chavez Community Center s attention to detail, volunteer support, and overall organization. Participation in Triathlon continues to increase; the number of races sanctioned through USA Triathlon continues to climb. Those numbers (which include camps and clinics) have nearly tripled over the last seven years, going from 1,541 in 2004 to 4,334. Growth has been particularly strong on the youth side, which saw a jump from 193 youth events in 2004 to 1,011 youth events.
