2 OFFICIAL RULES: The official rules as stated in the current Track and Field Rule Book, published by the National Federation, and so further modified by the IHSAA, shall govern. ENTRY LIST: Entry deadline is Friday, May 11, 4pm. After this time all changes/corrections must go through the IHSAA directly. STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE: 1. The entrant s best SEASON time/distance/height must be listed on the Official Entry List. 2. Schools are permitted to list three (3) participants in each event provided ALL have equaled or bettered the three (3) participant standards. Otherwise, only two of the three listed athletes may participate. See the IHSAA Spring Bulletin for Standard Times/Marks. SEEDING: Each center school shall conduct seeding as follows: 1. Participants must be entered in an event with a time/distance/height prior to 4:00 PM, Friday, May 11, 2018, without penalty. 2. By Monday, May 14, 2018, we will POST performance sheets to the website, Event Info tab, by Noon; assuming all entries are received on time. This information will not be sent via . It will be available only through the website. Please do not call for seeding. 3. Corrections of obvious errors and/or omissions will be accepted by 12:00 PM (Noon), Tuesday, May 15, 2018, if reported directly to the assistant commissioner and accompanied by $200. No changes for the purpose of gaining a competitive edge will be allowed. Changes in times/distances/heights will not be permitted. Copy michelle@alphatiming.net in on any such requests to the IHSAA. 4. Heat Sheets will be posted by 10:00 PM on Tuesday, May 15 th, to the same Alpha Timing website. Please do not call for heat sheets. ENTRANCE: Teams, coaches, and workers need to enter through the East Gate. Buses are to drop off teams & coaches at the East Gate of the Stadium and park on the north side of lot #8 just east of the stadium or in Lot 9, just south of Lot 8. See Campus Map. All entered contestants in uniform, student manager, and coaches entering with the team shall be admitted free of charge. Coaches not entering with the team will need to purchase a ticket. The principal and the Athletic Directors may gain admittance by signing in at either spectator gate. CHECK-IN: Coaches proceed to the Warrior Dome (enter from inside the stadium) for team packet and scratch table. Do not pick up programs from the tables at the spectator gates. These are for the spectators. You will find a program in your packet as well as additional copies in the Dome.

3 MEET SCRATCHES: You are encouraged to any known scratches w/ or w/o replacements to prior to 2:00 pm on meet day. You may only scratch and replace with a listed alternate. There will be a table in the Warrior Dome with listings of all events and your entries. If you need to scratch an athlete, or replace an athlete with the alternate, simply mark on the sheet to mark the change. This process must be finalized by 4:55 PM. IMPLEMENT WEIGH-IN: Field event implement weigh-in will be between the girls and boys track locker rooms on the NE corner of the track. All implements must be weighed by 5:15 PM. If the implement is under-weight, it will be impounded until after the event. TEAM AREA: All teams will set up camp in the north bleachers (Home Bleachers). Only those individuals who are participating in an event will be allowed in the infield. All coaches, athletic trainers, managers, photographers, and spectators must stay outside the fence surrounding the track. All electronic devices, coolers, etc. are to remain in the team camp area. EXCEPTION: ONE POLE VAULT COACH FROM EACH SCHOOL MAY BE SEATED AT THE POLE VAULT AREA, ON PROVIDED BENCHES. These benches are not for teams. Please clean your team area when you leave. Violators of above rules are subject to removal from the meet. LOCKER ROOMS: Locker room facilities will not be available, please have your athletes come taped and dressed to compete. TRAINER: A certified trainer will be available during the sectional. FIELD EVENTS: 1. Warm-up period 4:00 5:15 PM 2. Shot and discus will be weighed between 4:15 5:15 at the northeast corner of the stadium. 3. The pole vault verification form (available from the ihsaa.net website or you will find a copy will be in your meet packet) must be turned in prior to competition to the Pole Vault official. RUNNING EVENTS: 1. There will be eight (8) qualifiers to the finals in the 100m dash, 110m hurdles, and the 200m dash. Qualifying to finals will be the top two (2) finishers from each heat plus the next two (2) fastest times. Please refer to the IHSAA Spring Bulletin for further running event information. CLERK OF COURSE: The clerks will be located at the southwest end of the track. All entrants must report to the clerk by the SECOND call of each event. All relay members must report in to the clerk at check in. Any athlete not reporting will be scratched from that event and all remaining events, including any finals attempts and relays. Hips numbers will be used and will be placed on the right HIP. Please be sure your athletes know where to properly place them to be seen for the entire race. We can t get your splits when we can t see hips!

4 TIMING: Timing and placing will be done electronically. FinishLynx Timing System will be provided and back up stopwatches will also be used. Review of the finish will occur only as determined by the Referee- Starter and is not available to coaches or parents. JURY OF APPEALS: The Jury of Appeals shall consist of the assistant starter, the tournament director, and two coaches to be named at the scratch meeting by the tournament director. The Jury will serve in an advisory capacity only if the referee wishes to consult with them. SCORING: Eight places will be scored ( ) in all events, including relays. Ties must be broken for first place and for the last qualifying position. In all other cases of ties, points will be divided equally. ELECTRONICS: Headphones, cell phones, ipods, etc are not to be used or worn by athletes in any competition area, this includes areas where they stage for shot and discus and anywhere inside the track fencing. This is in effect from arrival at the facility until time of departure. Coaches be sure your athletes know this in advance. Electronics may be confiscated to be picked up at meet end. Field Event Warm-Ups: No athlete may begin warm up in any field event until their coach or the field event is present and remains there. Anyone warming up without the presence of either may be DQ d. All athletes must leave the field event area when the event completes. AWARDS: The winning school shall receive a trophy. Individuals placing 1st through 8th in each event shall receive ribbons. All ribbons will be kept in team envelopes to be picked up at the press box at the conclusion of the tournament. An announcement will be made once ribbons are ready. TRACK SPECIFICATIONS: Warren Central s track is an 8 lane all-weather surface. Only flats or ¼ inch spikes will be permitted. The field event runways and the high jump surface are made of the same material as the track. The shot and discus pads are concrete. TICKETS: Admission for all spectators shall be $6.00. Ticket stubs should be kept in case of a rain-out. Tickets will be sold on the east and west ends of the football stadium. Bus drivers will be admitted free by signing in at one of the spectator gates. SPECTATOR PARKING: Spectator parking will be in the lots just east, west, and south of the stadium. REGIONAL QUALIFIERS: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place sectional winners in all individual events and relays plus any individual or relay team meeting the 3 Participant Standard in the sectional finals of their event shall advance to the Regional, at Franklin Community, on Thursday, May 24th. If the top 3 finishers plus 3 Participant Standard advancers in an event is less than 16, the next best performances from the corresponding sectionals shall be added to bring the total number of entrants to 16 in each event. An individual or

5 relay team shall not advance to the regional from the sectional finals unless the time is recorded by fully automatic timing (FAT). CALL UPS: You will not be directly notified of a call up to fill a field to 16, you will need to check to see if your athletes were called up. SCRATCHES FROM SECTIONAL TO REGIONAL: Scratch cards from Sectional to Regional will be in your meet packet. Turn scratch cards into the Meet Director in the timing trailer within 30 minutes after the conclusion of the final event. Be sure that you gave us your cell number at the coaches meeting so we can call you if one of your athletes is called back due to a scratch. The meet will begin at 5:30 for field events and 5:50 for the 3200 M Relay. 2. Starting blocks will be furnished by Warren Central or you may bring your own, however, you are responsible for your own blocks. 3. When a contestant is scratched from an event in a tournament series meet after the beginning of the first event of the meet, he/she is automatically eliminated from all other events in the tournament series, unless excused by a physician licensed to practice medicine. 4. Athletes must report to Clerk of the Course by Second call or he will be scratched from that event and all others to follow. 5. Coaches and non-competing athletes are required to stay out of the infield area at all times. 6. Familiarize yourself with the IHSAA Spring Bulletin And the NFHS Rule Book Meet results will be available following the verification of the official score. 8. Concessions will be available at the southwest corner of the stadium. 9. Spectator seating will be in the South Bleachers (Visitors side). 10. There will be 4 restrooms open, one in all four corners of the stadium. 11. Warren Central is not responsible for lost/misplaced/stolen property. 12. NO electronics are to worn by any athletes competing or not in any competition areas. 13. Live results will be posted to: Click on results then find the meet you want to view.
