2 8 Easy Steps For A Great REEBOK SPARTAN RACE Experience! 1. PARKING will be your first stop once you arrive at the venue. PARKING fee is $10 (cash only). Please have your money ready when you approach the parking attendant. 2. You will be issued a SPARTAN BAG at PARKING to stow your personal belongings in for BAG DROP. No other bags will be accepted at Bag Drop! 3. Make sure you have your signed QR CODE RACE PASS, your PHOTO ID and your SPARTAN BAG with you when you leave your car. 4. Show your QR CODE RACE PASS (Or standard WAIVER) and your PHOTO ID at the REGISTRATION tent to receive your race headband and activated timing chip. Only persons with QR CODE RACE PASSES will have access to the fast CHECK-IN lanes. 5. Proceed to the PREPARATION AREA to put on your headband and attach the timing chip to your shoe. Staff will be available in this area to help you attach your chip properly, mark your race number on your body (optional). 6. Place ALL items you want to leave at Bag Drop INSIDE the SPARTAN BAG and proceed to the BAG DROP tent. Each racer is allowed one SPARTAN BAG. No other bags will be accepted! 7. Look for START signs located within the festival area. Please arrive at the START line at least 5 minutes before your start (heat) time. 8. Prepare for Glory!

5 PRE-RACE DETAILS PLEASE READ! Follow these Pre-Race Instructions to ensure a speedy registration on race day! Before you arrive on race day please make sure you have: 1. Visit the Ottawa Spartan Super website to check for any updates. 2. Ensure you have received your containing the link for the WAIVER and your UNIQUE QR Code. 3. Please print, sign and complete the WAIVER and bring it with you to the race. This will help us identify you and speed up the check-in process. 3. EVERY RACER MUST SIGN A WAIVER & SHOW A VALID FORM OF ID TO BE PERMITTED TO RACE. BRING YOUR PHOTO ID!!!

6 Race Day Registration Flow NOTE: Show up at least 1.5 HOURS prior to your Heat Start Time at the parking lot. Saturday: Registration OPENS at 7.30am and CLOSES 15 minutes before the last heat at 4.00pm Sunday: Registration OPENS at 7.30am and CLOSES 15 minutes before the last heat 4.00pm Step 1: Your SPARTAN BAG will be issued to you for Bag Drop from Parking Attendants in the Parking Area. NOTE: YOU MAY ONLY USE THE PROVIDED SPARTAN RACE PLASTIC BAGS FOR BAG DROP. ONE BAG PER RACER. NO OTHER BAGS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Step 2: Proceed to WAIVER Station with your signed QR CODE WAIVER form in ink before arriving at the station and a Government Issue form of photo ID **Printing and signing the QR CODE WAIVER before you arrive at race day will ensure a fast and efficient check in process! NOTE: If you have NOT already signed and completed a QR CODE WAIVER you will need to sign one at this tent with a Government Issue form of photo ID. Step 3: With your SIGNED QR CODE WAIVER and PHOTO ID proceed to Registration where you will be directed by staff to the appropriate lane. The person manning the station will collect your waiver and check you into the system. Step 4: You will receive: A headband - Please wear you designated headband during the race so we can see your race number on your forehead! This number will then also be written on your Spartan Race Bag for Bag drop Zip Ties Timing Chip - Please secure it onto your shoe with the zip ties given to you.

7 Step 5: Please put away your PHOTO ID and EXIT the check-in area once you have registered and received your headband and timing chip. Do not stop inside the REGISTRATION tent to put on your chip or headband. Step 6: Proceed to the PREPARATION area to secure your race headband and attach your timing chip to your shoe. Staff will be available in this area to help you attached your chip properly, mark your race number on your body (optional) and answer any questions you may have. Step 6: Once you have been through the registration tents, place your personal belongings in your SPARTAN BAG you received at PARKING and head over to the Bag Drop tent for safekeeping until you finish the race. Bag Drop is $2 (cash only) per bag and each racer is allowed ONE SPARTAN BAG. No other bags will be accepted! Step 7: Have an EPIC day! Start Times Spartan Super Saturday Start Schedule 9:00 am Elite Heat Start 9:30 am Open Heats start 1:00pm Last Heat Note: - All racers must start at their designated heat times - Be sure to arrive at the START line at least 5 minutes before you designated heat time. Please be there on time! - If you have any problems regarding registration, please ask to be directed to the HELP DESK at the REGISTRATION tent and we will help resolve it. Course Description Terrain: Hilly terrain includes rocky/grassy single track, wide open trails, muddy/wet conditions, rolling hills, steep inclines and descents. Animals/Plants: Please stay on the marked trail to protect yourself and the wildlife. Please do not approach or feed wildlife. Weather: Please come prepared for chilly morning and evening temperatures, possible rainstorms. Water Stations: As always, Spartans come prepared! All racers should be sure to bring extra water and energy fuel if needed. There will be two water stations on the

8 Sprint course as well as an additional two for the Super course; in addition there will be a water station at the Finish Line. You can bring a water bottle or hydration pack with you and re-fill at each station, but if you use our disposable cups, use one only and refill it please to lower our environmental impact. Event Timing - You will receive your timing chip at registration. This will record your time and live results. Your chip will not be registered at the START and FINISH lines if you put it anywhere other than on your shoe. - Upon completion of the race at the finish line: o You will receive your T-shirt and Medal and proceed to the water station o Please do not exit the Finish Line area without having your itab Finisher Medals timing chip removed. - Finisher times will be posted on the Spartan Race website as quickly as possible after the race. Live results will be available near the finish area. - itab can help you to customize your Spartan Finisher Medal! - All Spartan Race Finishers have the opportunity to order a personalized itab for their medal. - The brushed silver look of the itab compliments the back of your Finisher Medal for the seamless look of a custom medal! - For $10 itab allows you to engrave your medal with your finishing time, race location, team name or any other info unique to you & your race. Awards - The Awards Ceremony will be held at 11.05AM on Saturday and Sunday - The 1 st place winner will receive an award, season pass, merchandise value of $100 and extra treats! Free Race Photos Your FREE Race Photos will be available approximately one week after the event. The link to the photos will be on our RESULTS page on our website.

Racers accompanied by their parent/lega guardian must have a completed and signed Race Waiver form and the accompanying parent/legal guardian must show valid government issued photo identification to check-in.

10 Registration for the Spartan Junior Race will be at the main Registration tent. On-site registration is per child. Each finisher will receive a finisher s medal and Kids Race Shirt. Look for the ORANGE Junior banners to locate the Starting Line. Festival Challenges While you are waiting to race or looking for an extra workout, try out one of our Festival Challenges. Test your skills on the Traverse Wall, see how many pull-ups you can do at our Pull-up Challenge, or see if you can make it to the top of the rope climb. Prizes for 1 st place male and female challenge winners are a Free Race Entry to the Spartan Race event of their choice! Or the equivalent value in Merchandise. Traverse Wall Challenge An exact replica of the wall we use on course. The goal is to get across the wall without falling off and ring the bell in the fastest time! Pull Up Challenge Cameras will record this entire challenge in hopes of documenting a new Guinness World Record for most pull-ups in one minute Rope Climb Challenge Who can get to the top of the rope the fastest and ring the bell? We will be recording times and the winner gets a special prize! Monkey Bars Challenge See how quickly you can get to the other side without falling off! Spectators - Spectator passes are $15 and available to purchase ONSITE ONLY and will receive a $5 ticket to use at merchandise. Please note these are not redeemable at Food or Drink vendors. Tickets may not be combined.

11 - Children under 13 can get in for free - Each family with a child racing in the Junior Race will receive a free spectator passes - Food and drink will be for sale (please bring cash). - DJ & MC entertainment all day! Charities Charity begins at home. Spartan Race is proud to offer support to charities all over Canada and we are welcoming all charities to join us, We want to help raise millions of dollars for our charity partners over the next 5 years. For more information contact spartanraceca@runforcharity.com Equipment & Clothing - All participants are encouraged to bring a change of clothes, shoes, and a plastic bag. You are going to get wet and muddy! - Shoe Donation will be available- we ll clean and send your filthy running shoes to needy feet all over the globe. Just tie them together and toss them in the pile by the showers. Food & Beverages A variety of Food and beverages will be available for sale so please bring cash and have your ID ready if you are planning on having a beer. Facilities - Porta-Potties will be located throughout the festival area. - Washing Stations (non-heated) are located on-site, bring a towel and a change of clothes. - ATM s will be available on site. Spartan Information - No pop-up tents are allowed in the festival. Tent space is reserved for Sponsors/Vendors. - No coolers or glass bottles allowed on property. Security staff will check for them as you enter.

12 - You must have ID to check in. Racers ages 14 and older can participate in the adult s race. 14 year olds require a guardian to run with them on the adult course. Those under 14 are encouraged to join the Kids race. - No DOGS/ pets allowed - Only Service Dogs with proper credentials are allowed. - Please DO NOT call the venue with questions! Please review the site early and often. - Drink plenty of water before the race and come prepared! - Get a good night s sleep. You will need all your energy J Inclement Weather - In the event of inclement weather such as lightning, tornadoes, hurricanes and the like, Spartan Race reserves the right to shut down obstacles, re-direct sections of the course, or cancel the event to ensure safety of racers, volunteers and staff. - As always, weather can be unpredictable. Please come prepared for whatever mother nature throws at us that day!
