LIMITED STIPENDIARY STEWARDS' REPORT Report on Race Meeting held at Morphettville Parks Racecourse by the South Australian Jockey Club on Saturday, 1 December 2018 Stewards: J. Petzer (Chairman), M. Taylor (Veterinary Surgeons) TRACK: Good 4 RAIL: True WEATHER: Windy / Overcast RACE 1: BRADLEY PAINTING SERVICES PLATE metres The start of this event was delayed approximately three minutes. STAR QUEST (J. Toeroek) lost its near fore plate en route to the barriers and had to be attended to by the Farrier. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and passed fit to race. Held up for clear running from near the 400 metres until inside the 200 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. WHY BIG BRY (NZ) (J. Holder) contacted at the start by WISEMAN, had its hindquarters turned and approaching the 600 metres took an awkward step when attempting to jump a patch of clover. WISEMAN (J. Kah) severely hampered at the start, lost its position when contacted by EMCONI STAR and as a consequence shifted in and contacted WHY BIG BRY (NZ). Shortly after the entrance to the straight was disappointed when attempting a tight run to the inside of WHY BIG BRY (NZ), which laid in and was unable to obtain clear running until approaching the 100 metres. EMCONI STAR (C. Parish) contacted at the start and taken in onto WISEMAN and laid in throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor respiratory recovery with injected mucous membranes and associated moderate distress. FELICIA (D. Caboche) awkward to begin, shifted in and contacted EMCONI STAR, which was taken in onto WISEMAN. RACE 2: DAIMLER TRUCKS ADELAIDE HANDICAP 1250 metres BENZ (A. Jordsjo) - slow to begin, losing two lengths at the start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. THIS KID ROCKS (C. Caserta) - raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. Held up for clear running from near the entrance to the straight until approaching the 100 metres. ARROW LANE (R. Clark) near the 600 metres took an awkward step on two separate occasions when attempting to jump patches of clover. MRPK docx Page of 5

2 RACE 2: DAIMLER TRUCKS ADELAIDE HANDICAP 1250 metres (Cont d) SET TO SPARKLE (E. Finnegan) unable to obtain clear running in the straight and was untested to the line. RACE 3: ACTION LINE MARKING HANDICAP 2250 metres The start of this event was delayed approximately three minutes to allow the curator and his staff to perform remedial work to the patches of clover near the 600 metres. AAGAS (C. Parish) - A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. SICKENING (NZ) (D. Yendall) became very fractious after being loaded into its barrier stall and got both front legs over the front partitions. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after being removed from its barrier stall and was declared unfit to race. Acting on this advice, Stewards declared SICKENING (NZ) a late scratching at 2.23 pm. Trainer Mr D. Weir was advised the gelding would be required to perform to the Stewards satisfaction in an Official Barrier Trial prior to accepting for a future race. CENTENARY SHOT (E. Finnegan) - a post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. RACE 4: ROADSIDE SERVICES & SOLUTIONS MAIDEN PLATE metres MACSWEEN (C. Caserta) a late scratching by order of Stewards at 3.00 pm acting on veterinary advice that the gelding was kicked by another runner on arrival at the barriers and was unfit to start. SMART ALICK (J. Toeroek) - a post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. STREETS AFTER DARK (E. Finnegan) laid out rounding the home turn. SUNMATE (K. Crowther) awkward to begin, shifted out and contacted KENYAN WONDER. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. ZAMERIC (C. Parish) rider pleaded guilty to a charge under AR137A(5)(a)(ii) for using his whip on more than five occasions prior to the 100 metres and was reprimanded. IPOTANE (D. Caboche) laid out over the concluding stages. KENYAN WONDER (J. Kah) contacted at the start. Raced ungenerously for a short distance in the middle stages of the event. RACE 5: ADVANCED TRANSPORT REFRIGERATION HANDICAP metres SAVATAG (NZ) (J. Kah) - a post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. RACE 6: PLUMBING & PIPELINE SOLUTIONS HANDICAP metres CLASSY JACK (R. Clark) had to be resaddled on arrival at the barriers. Near the 600 metres rolled out and contacted the hindquarters of MUSICAL QUERY. OVER AND ABOVE (D. Caboche) rider was spoken to regarding the use of his whip when raising his arm above shoulder height over the concluding stages of the event. MRPK docx Page of 5

3 RACE 6: PLUMBING & PIPELINE SOLUTIONS HANDICAP metres (Cont d) MUSICAL QUERY (J. Kah) contacted near the 600 metres and had its hindquarters turned. QUIDDICK (J. Toeroek) disappointed for clear running from shortly after the entrance to the straight until approaching the 200 metres and thereafter raced in restricted room between the heels of MISS LABELLE and OVER AND ABOVE until over the last 50 metres of the event. Correct weight was delayed to allow J. Toeroek (QUIDDICK) and Trainer Mr D. Tootell to view the vision in the straight. RACE 7: DELNORTH HANDICAP 1300 metres FLYING KRUPT (K. Crowther) inside the 600 metres shifted out to improve and inconvenienced TWO ODD SOX. COOL MAVERICK (S. Price) held up for clear running from near the entrance to the straight until approaching the 200 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. MARINA (R. Clark) approaching the 200 metres shifted in abruptly when placed under pressure and inconvenienced COLESBERG, which was obliged to be steadied. COLESBERG (A. Jordsjo) rider reported the gelding was disappointing. Approaching the 200 metres was obliged to be steadied when inconvenienced by MARINA, which shifted in abruptly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. ART MUSIC (C. Caserta) slow into stride. SOMETHING SILVER (J. Kah) rider reported the mare travelled well but from near the 200 metres failed to respond to her riding and on pulling up felt awkward in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. TWO ODD SOX (D. Yendall) inside the 600 metres was inconvenienced for a number of strides as FLYING KRUPT shifted out to improve. TENDERLY (E. Finnegan) rider reported the filly felt awkward in its action on pulling up. A postrace veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. RACE 8: POSITIVE GROUP HANDICAP 1400 metres CHAPEL CITY (K. Crowther) raced in restricted room for a number of strides shortly after the start. MR GUSTAVO (NZ) (J. Holder) tightened over the concluding stages and raced in restricted room between CHAPEL CITY and ENKI. STAR FORTUNE (D. Yendall) tightened at the start between JUST A BIGGER DASH and ADATTO (NZ), both which began awkwardly and shifted ground. Thereafter shifted in and tightened ADATTO (NZ) onto CHAPEL CITY. Over-raced in the early stages of the event. ADATTO (NZ) (R. Clark) awkward to begin, shifted out and contacted STAR FORTUNE. Laid out from near the 600 metres and approaching the 300 metres continued to lay out, became awkwardly placed on the heels of ENKI and had to be steadied. Rider reported the gelding felt sore in front during the event and for this reason she did not persevere with her riding over the concluding stages. 4 RACE 8: POSITIVE GROUP HANDICAP 1400 metres (Cont d) ENKI (A. Jordsjo) shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages onto MR GUSTAVO (NZ) tightening that horse onto CHAPEL CITY. JUST A BIGGER DASH (C.
