3 EVENT LOCATION Dorney Lake, Windsor SL4 6QP (Junction 7 off the M4) CAR PARKING The event car park will be open from 07:00 on race day. On arrival you will be directed to the car park. From there please walk across to the main registration area. Please be aware of traffic moving about in this area. REGISTRATION Registration is open from 07:00 on Saturday morning at Dorney Lake. It is important that you arrive 90 minutes before your wave starts. Any hire bikes or wetsuits will be available for set up and collection at Dorney Lake. At registration you will be issued with a pack containing: 1) Your timing chip - please wear this on your left ankle with the chip on the outside of your leg. For the swim section it must be worn UNDER the wetsuit. It is mandatory that you wear your timing chip for the whole race and hand it back in at the finish line on completion of the event. If you do not, you will not get a time or feature in the results. For teams the timing chip acts as the baton that must be passed from swimmer, to cyclist, to runner and worn on the left ankle of each athlete during their section of the event. 2) Your race number bib - please wear this on your front for the bike and run sections of the race. It is waterproof so it can be worn under the wetsuit for the swim. Teams will receive two bibs in their race pack one for the cyclist and the other for the runner. 3) A bike number sticker - to be stuck to the seat post of your bike. 4) A swim hat - that must be worn during the swim.

4 TRANSITION Once you have registered and collected your bike/wetsuit (if you have hired one), please go to the transition area to rack your bike and leave your race kit (bike and run shoes, helmet etc). You will need to enter the transition area via the secure competitors entrance because all other entry/exit points will be blocked off until the race starts. Please familiarise yourself with the layout of the area before the race starts. The racking will be split into waves and by race number within each wave. Signs will also be clearly visible in transition for all the swim/bike/run in and out points. Please note: during the event, entrance to the transition area will be limited to competitors only, for the set-up of their transition space and when racing. No spectating will be allowed from transition to ensure maximum space for participants competing in their event. Transition rules: To gain entry/exit to transition you will need to show your race number You will not be allowed to retrieve/deposit your bike if you do not show your race number Do not ride your bike in transition When racing, your helmet must be securely fastened to your head before you touch your bike. You must not remove your helmet until your bike is securely racked. You will be required to show your helmet to the transition entrance staff on entry Do not get on your bike until after the mount line when leaving transition Get off your bike before the dismount line on the way back into transition Your transition space must be kept tidy at all times. There will be a drink station with water at the run exit of transition. RACE COURSE Start Please familiarise yourself with the event timetable to ensure you attend the correct wave start. Any late timetable changes will be posted on the timetable board near the race clock in the main event area. Wave starts will be announced on the PA system approximately 15 minutes before the start time, just before the briefing. The mandatory race briefings will be held in the swim start area for the Triathlon and run start area for the Fun Run and Duathlon. Once the briefing has finished make your way directly into the water or run start line - you should be in full kit and ready to begin. The briefing for the Half Marathon will be held straight after Gary s speech in the same area as the speech and will start from there. The start for the swim (Triathlons) will be in the water between the two start flags and will be signalled by a foghorn. Please only enter the lake to warm up before the swim if the lifeguards are present. The start for the Fun Run and Duathlon will be between the start flags next to the transition area.

5 Swim Super Sprint ½ lap, Sprint 1 lap, Olympic 2 laps. Lifeguards are on duty on the banks of the lake and on the water. If you require assistance whilst in the water raise one arm in the air. Wetsuits are compulsory for the swim. A map will be positioned at the swim entry point clearly showing the swim course. Bike Super Sprint 2 laps, Sprint 4 laps, Olympic 8 laps, Duathlon 4 laps. The Bike course follows a slightly twisting road situated on the far left hand side on the lake, running to the very end of the estate. The return road is a dead straight 'island' road returning you towards the transition area. The course has two tight turns one at ether end of the lake so please take care in those areas in particular. On the bike: No drafting No riding as a group When exiting transition you have to filter onto the live course. You must look up and look right and give right of way to any riders already on the course as you filter in. Ride on the left hand side and overtake on the right Bike helmets must be securely fastened to your head whilst you are in contact with the bike The bike course is on internal park roads; however members of the public can still access the venue on foot, so please be aware of other people The bike course is marshalled and well signed, however it remains the responsibility of the competitor to navigate the course Please be aware of other riders filtering onto the course from the transition area Ride within your ability. There are several tight corners on the bike course so be careful Please report any major incidents on the bike course to the next marshal you see. Location of the incident is important You are responsible for counting your own laps Please note that use of headphones is strictly not permitted during the event at any time, particularly on the bike Bike course map

6 Run Fun Run 1 lap, Super Sprint ½ lap, Sprint 1 lap, Olympic 2 laps, Duathlon 1 lap for each run. The run goes up the right hand side of the lake to a turn point either half way along the side of the lake (Super Sprint only), or to a turn point just around the top end of the lake (all other distances and events). On the run: Turn points will be marked by large flags. Run on the left hand side of the path and overtake on the right hand side. You are responsible for counting your own laps. On completion of your laps continue down the finish straight and under the finish gantry. After the first run of the Duathlon continue straight into transition area, not down finish straight. Please report any major incidents on the run course to the next marshal you see. Drinks stations are located at the close and far run turn points. Run course map (triathlon, duathlon & fun run) Half Marathon Two laps (see course maps) Turn points will be marked by large flags. Run on the left hand side of the path and overtake on the right hand side. You are responsible for counting your own laps. On completion of your laps continue down the finish straight and under the finish gantry. After the first lap of the Half Marathon continue as shown on the lap 2 map below. Please report any major incidents on the run course to the next marshal you see. Drinks stations are located at the close and far run turn points.

8 DRINKS STATIONS Water will be available on the course in transition area and at the run turn points. FINISH At the finish please give your timing chip to the finish line staff and you will receive your medal. If for any reason you do not finish, please report this to a marshal and return your timing chip to them, or to the finish line staff. RESULTS AND MEDAL CEREMONY Results will be available at the Results Tent at Dorney Lake and the medals will be presented at the party on Saturday evening at the Beaumont Estate Hotel. REFRESHMENTS A selection of hot and cold drinks and food will be available all day. There will also be an ice cream van on site and several coffee vans. SPECTATOR ENTERTAINMENT There will be undercover areas for spectators to watch the racing from in the event of hot or bad weather. Rollapaluza static bike racing will be at the event with roller racing for all ages (from 3 years old upwards) and will be located in the main event area. SPECTATOR ETIQUETTE We would kindly ask that spectators refrain from accessing the live course areas where bikers and runners may be racing or course vehicles may be circulating. Keep all children under supervision and any dogs on leads at all times. TOILETS/SHOWERS/CHANGING ROOMS These are located next to the transition area. Showers and changing rooms are upstairs in the boathouse. Additional toilets will be available in the main event area and on the course. BIKE SERVICE AND HIRE British Bike Hire will be in the main event area and on the course to offer assistance with any mechanical issues. MEDICS Medics will be located in the main event area and at key points out on the course. SPECIAL NOTE ON HEADPHONES Headphones are not allowed on any part of the event course (swimming, cycling, running or walking). This is for safety reasons so that competitors can hear the instructions of marshals, medics and other competitors. Thank you for your understanding in this matter. Have a great race!
