3 WHY SUPPORT MOUNT KENYA TRUST? Taking part in the Tropic Air 10to4 helps us to protect the mountain you are riding down. Since the 10to4 was established in 2002, over $500,000 has been raised to support the MKT in their work. This includes planting more than half a million trees, building and maintaining a 14km elephant corridor through farmland, two elephant underpasses, returning over 1000 hectares of bare land to indigenous forest, tree nurseries nurturing hundreds of thousands of seedlings, and helping 50,000 Kenyans with healthcare and thousands of children to understand conservation better. 5 FIRSTLY SET YOUR GOAL Every bit you raise goes directly to the projects Mount Kenya Trust runs. Even the smallest amounts help greatly but don t be afraid to be ambitious too. You ll be pleasantly surprised how generous people can be when taking on such a challenge as the Tropic Air 10to4.

6 Choose a fundraising idea that suits you. From bake sales to sponsored silences, here are a few ideas to help make it easy to fundraise at work, school or in your community Jumble sale Dress down day/ Non-uniform day Odd jobs for donations Pot luck dinner Quiz night Uniform day for teachers Head shaving Give something up

7 Collecting money. 1 2 FACE-TO-FACE If your fundraising in KSh via mpesa (Paybill ) then download the Tropic Air 10to4 Fundraising Form here. It s more difficult for potential sponsors to say no if you are standing in front of them so download and print off the handy Tropic Air 10to4 Fundraising Form and take it wherever you go. Then either collect donations in cash or via mpesa. ONLINE FUNDRAISING PAGE GBP - Visit and go to Start Fundraising and select Create My Page $USD Visit and at the bottom where is says Special purpose for donation please write Mount Kenya Trust and the money will come to us

8 Spread the word. STEP 1 Begin by ing your closest friends and family, explaining what you re doing and why, with a link to your fundraising page/mpesa info. These people are the most likely to support you and help spread your message further. Once you ve hit your inner circle, keep sending. The more you send the more success you will have. STEP 2 Use social media to announce your campaign. Use whichever channels you are active on and take this opportunity to tag those who have already sponsored you to thank them (this helps spread the word even further). Ask your followers to share your posts and updates to reach new people. Tag Tropic Air 10to4 and Mount Kenya Trust into your posts to link to our social activity. NB. Don t ask for donations on posts. This can get boring and repetitive, but use social media to share updates on your progress and positive stories about MKT s work
