On 30 June 1909, watchmaker hrstan Fredrch Elfeld regsters hs patent for the world s frst metal spnneret. 1930s Worldwde success of the metal spnneret. Word about the frst metal spnneret spreads quckly throughout the world Leadng poston n Eastern Europe. The Spnndüsenfabrk Gröbzg spnneret factory becomes one of the leadng manufacturers of spnnerets n Eastern Europe and mantans ts poston for decades, untl the tme of the German reunfcaton. VEEINIGTE GLANZSTOFF-FABIKEN, LATE ENAMED ENKA / AKZO NOBEL 1899 Verengte Glanzstoff-Fabrken, later renamed Enka / Akzo Nobel, s founded. On the bass of the patent to manufacture cellulosc flament yarn, regstered n 1897, the Verengte Glanzstoff- Fabrken factores were founded n 1899 n Wuppertal, Germany. Several years later, the name s changed to Enka From a department to an ndependent company. The factory n Hensberg-Oberbruch evolves nto a leadng producton ste for synthetc fbers n Europe. 10 Enka Tecnca METHODOLOGY Methodology We don't leave the development of polymers up to chance. We use ngenuty and the hgh art of engneerng nstead. Whether dry spnnng or wet spnnng 100 years after hrstan Fredrch Elfeld nvented the metal spnneret, the functonal prncple stll remans the same. What has changed, however, are the requrements for spnnerets. recsely, n the area of shape and surface structure. For example, spnnerets often have up to 10,000 mcro-szed drll holes wth wdely varyng dmensons and cross-sectonal profles. 16 Enka Tecnca roducts Wet and dry spnnng Enka Tecnca supples hgh-end spnnerets for acetate tow, vscose, aramd and other fbers that are processed usng wet and dry spnnng methods. These are manufactured from a varety of stanless steels, a varety of precous metalalloys or tantalum. They feature a varety of hole shapes (round and profled) and hole patterns, and can have far more than 100,000 orfces. Our products also nclude cluster and spnnng packs for wet and dry spnnng processes. For these we use a range of specal alloys that guarantee a long servce lfe. Melt spnnng If you need spnnerets and spnnng packs for flaments and staple fbers processed usng the melt spnnng method, Enka Tecnca also offers customzed solutons n ths sector. Whether mono, bco, trco or mcroflaments (such as sea-sland, splt type or sheath-core fbers), whether round or profled capllares your deas are free to take shape.
