3 Race administration Arbitration-board: Consisting of ever a representative of the QUAD of presidency and the organization. Race Course Swim Kayak The first round of the swim course will be absolved together with the Triathlon Long Distance race (3,8km). While the triathletes exit the water after one loop, the quadrathletes will continue on an additional short loop of 1,2km. After a short ride to the Regatta course, the athletes paddle out on lane 1 and return on lane 2 with a total of 5 laps of 3,8km each before approaching the exit area. There will be a lap control at the turnaround (therefore please fix your number at the right front site of your kayak and shout your number at the turnaround). Food and beverages will be provided at the turnaround points. 3

4 Rad Laps to be absolved: Ride to the City, 1 x complete loop, 1 x modified loop. Attention: Stay strictly to the right site of the road (Especially slower athletes will be passed soon by the professional athletes of the Half-Distance Triathlon). Drafting is forbidden at any time! The course is flat and susceptible to wind. A helmet has to be wore obligatory! 4

5 Laufen The participants of the Sunday s Race will not return to lake Fruehlinger See after the bike! The second transition area will be in the city center of cologne. The running course will take you to the Deutzer Hafen (Deutzer Shipyard) in direction of the Rodenkirchener Brücke (Rodenkirchener Bridge) and back. Two loops have to be absolved. 5

6 Transition area Regattabahn (rowing area) Any help while accessing the kayak is prohibited. Only athletes have the right to be in the transition area during the competition. The ground is solid rock. Please make sure you bring your own mats to protect the kayak from scratches. Kayak Rental Kayaks can be partially procured, be turned please at or We are looking for Volunteers In order to ensure a smooth event, we are currently looking for volunteers, in particular for the Quadrathlon race. Please volunteer for this event to make Quadrathlon an established and recognized sports discipline in the region of Cologne not only this year, but also in the future. Ask your friends whether they can help out during the race day. We prepared exciting give-aways for volunteers! Moderation Dirk Werk and Tobias Ködel Registration deadline / Approval of Registration Registration deadline is the 23 rd of August 2010 or earlier when the limit of participants is reached. The approval of registration will be send to you by not later than 29 th of August. Please print your approval and bring it with you to the registration desk. We will refund 70% of the registration fee for cancelations until 30 th of April For cancelations until 30 th of June 2010 we will refund 50% of the registration fee. Registrations between 9 th of September 2009 to 30 th of June can be cancelled until 2 weeks after receipt of your registration, if the limit of participants hasn t been reached. In this case we refund the complete registration fee except 10 Euros administration fee. 7

8 In the case of later cancelation no registration fee can be refunded! We offer the possibility to purchase a special cancellation-insurance (CologneQuad 15 Euros). The cancellationinsurance has to be purchased together with the registration. You can name a substitution for your slot by before July 31 st 2010 or in person during the weekend of the race (4 th /5 th of September 2010) at the registration desk. An administrative fee of 10 Euros will be withheld. Medical Support Medical support during the event will be provided by the Malteser and/or Johanniter emergency aid teams. The medical team will be provided by Stefan Preis, M.D., KLINIK-am RING, Cologne. After the Triathlon a free massage service is open to all participants. Our partner is the Westfalen Academy Dortmund, which will run 30 massage stations to get the athletes back in shape. Disclaimer Each participant must arrange their own personal insurance coverage. The organizer is not liable for any injury, accidents or bodily and other damage caused. Helmets are compulsory on the bike course Accomodation Information regarding hotels that provide special deals for athletes during the Cologne Triathlon Weekend can be found on our homepage under Hotels. Furthermore the event organization team recommends our partner Köln Tourismus for convenient hotel booking.
