Provisional Programme Every attempt will be made to keep to the stated times, but the Organisers reserve the right to change the times if necessary. Please check the Race Notice Board on arrival and listen out for announcements over the P.A. system. Alternating categories will ensure ski prep time is available to all competitors. Whilst there will be frequent course switches these should take only a few minutes each time

3 Course Inspection The course must be inspected wearing skis and bibs must be carried on your person. No racer is allowed to ski the course during inspection. Course inspection may start at any point on the course and racers must come to a complete stop between each gate when inspecting the course. Race trainers/coaches may accompany their racers provided they are qualified and carry the relevant accreditation issued by the race office on the day or prior to the race. No other people will be allowed to enter the race area. Race Rules/Health and Safety The race will be run under FIS rules as varied by SSE and published in the British Artificial Competition Rules (BACR). Please see BACR Rules. Racers and race officials should also be aware of the Guide to the Rules of Ski Racing available on The course will be set using single poles- full sized gates for competitors in the U14 and older categories, stubby gates for competitors in the U10 / U12 competition. Ski poles - with a tip diameter of less than 15mm must be fitted with suitable tip protectors to increase the tip diameter to 15mm. Bad Language TDs have been instructed to apply the unsportsmanlike behaviour rule to any racer using bad language. This will result in sanctions ultimately leading to bans for repeated offenders. Access: Only accredited persons are permitted on the race area during the race. Attire: Racers and Forerunners will be required to wear a helmet, gloves, long trousers and a long sleeved garment, which also covers the midriff to reduce the risk of injury, at all times whilst on the slope, including during open practice and course inspection during the race. No ski preparation/spraying is to take place within the start area. A designated area will be available for ski waxing. All Ravens ski club buildings and grounds are non-smoking. During open practice bibs MUST BE WORN so number is visible from back and front. Racers without a bib will be asked to leave the slope

4 Protests and late entry acceptance confirmation The Race Secretary must receive protests against non-acceptance of entries in writing by 6pm on Thursday 5th June. Results of protests may be obtained by phoning the Race secretary : Maureen Mearns between 6pm and 7pm on Friday 6th June. Start Order The start order will be drawn at the Jury meeting on Wednesday 11th may 2016 using the OBARTS Seed List due out Thursday 5th May This seed list can be found on the web site The start lists will be published on and on the official notice board on the morning of the race. Club National Race: For Run 1 the top 15 females and males will be drawn for start position, with the remaining seeded racers placed in reverse seed point order. Those without seed points will be drawn for start position to run before those with seed points. Run 2 running order will be the same as run 1. Run 3 will be in reverse time order based on the best time recorded of run 1 / run2 i.e. fastest racers from run 1/run2 will go last. Slalom Race for U10 /U12 competitors: Start order for run 1 will be drawn at random. Girls first, followed by boys. Run 2 running order will be the same as run 1. Run 3 will be in reverse time order girls followed by boys, based on the best time of run1/run2 as above. Race Office The race office will be at the race secretary's address until the evening of Friday 13th May and will be located at Silksworth Sports Complex, North Moor Lane, Sunderland SR3 1PD from 10.30am on Saturday 14th May. The notice board is located indoors by Ski issue on Ravens Club Notice Board. Race bibs Race bibs must be returned at the top of the tow on completion of their final run. Failure to do so will result in a charge of for each missing bib. Referee s Report Protests against the referees report must be made on official forms, which will be available at the race office. These must be completed and handed in within the set time limit and accompanied by a fee of

5 Refunds Excepts as noted below, race entry fees are non-refundable. Racers withdrawing on medical grounds may obtain a 10 refund of their entry fee if they apply to the Race Secretary and provide certified medial evidence to support their application. Photography Racers who do not wish to be photographed by any accredited photographer must notify the Race Secretary in writing by the end of race registration. Please the Race Secretary at nesasecretary@gmail.com if you do not wish to be photographed. First Aid By Silksworth Sports Complex Staff Officials Please note these races can only run with sufficient race officials. If you are able to assist please contact the Race Secretary or Chief of Race. Refreshments: Catering will be on site for refreshments, and snacks/drinks can be obtained from vending machines on site. Finally: The organisers of the race would like to thank their sponsors Ski Racing Supplies and Everyone Active. We are grateful to the volunteers, without their help this Race would not be able to go ahead. Acceptance At the Jury meeting on Wednesday 11th May 2016 all entries to 7pm on that date were accepted. Entries from racers with a note by their name on the enclosed acceptance list were provisionally accepted, and must see the Race Secretary on race day to validate their entry prior to collecting their bib.
