3 Greetings South Beach Triathletes, We are excited to bring you what we hope to be the best weekend of triathlon you ll ever experience! Whether you're a first timer or you're returning for another ride (pun intended), we welcome you all to a pair of sun-kissed, coconut-scented days in paradise. Our Life Time Triathlon season begins with this tropical event; a unique Classic distance coupled with a fervent International distance perfectly designed for professional and age group athletes alike. Both begin with an amazing salt water swim off the shores of beautiful South Beach before taking you on a one-of-a-kind tour through the streets and unique sites that only Miami and Miami Beach has to offer. Furthermore, these phenomenal views of South Beach and the surrounding area are spectator-friendly so make sure to bring your friends and family along! There are only a few days left before the event is upon you so be sure to rest and hydrate! The forecast calls for perfect racing weather with cool temperatures and lots of sunshine. Water temperatures are hovering right around 78 degrees. Please take the time to read through the next couple of pages of your Athlete Guide for important weekend information from athlete item check-lists to course directives. We would like to take a moment to extend a special thank you to our charity partner, St. Jude Children s Research Hospital and all fundraising participants for your time and efforts. You make a real difference and help us to continue our mission of finding cures and saving children everywhere. To date, $1.5 million has been raised for the children of St. Jude through the South Beach Triathlon. Finally, thank you to the Miami Beach Visitors and Convention Authority for their endless support. Athletes, don't forget to take a minute out of your day to thank all the fantastic volunteers on site and course who are the key ingredient to making South Beach Triathlon both a safe, successful and memorable event! Have a great race! Best Regards, Life Time Media and Events 3

4 THANK YOU TO OUR ALL OUR SPONSORS AND A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU TO All of the law enforcement and medical support on course and on site, the City of Miami and the City of Miami Beach, our dedicated staff and most importantly, thank you to all of our volunteers for dedicating your time to this great event! 4
