1 Welcome to the 5th annual MGC Long Run 15k, 5k and Kids Fun Run. Over the past four years, the MGC Long Run has raised nearly $100,000 for nonprofit organizations. This year s net proceeds benefit the USO South Carolina. For over 76 years, the USO has been the nation s leading organization to serve the men and women in the U.S. military, and their families, throughout their time in uniform. From the moment they join, through their assignments and deployments, and as they transition back to their communities, the USO is always by their side. The USO South Carolina serves military members and their families from four locations in South Carolina, including the USO Center at the Columbia Metropolitan Airport. 2 EVENT DETAILS Saturday, February 3, 2018 First Citizens Plaza Corner of Main Street and Lady Street 1230 Main Street Columbia, SC RACES All races start and finish at the First Citizens Plaza. Strollers are allowed only in the 5k and Kids Fun Run. While we love pets, they are not allowed in the races. MGC LONG RUN 15K Starts at 8 a.m. Presented by MGC Long Run 15k takes runners through historic downtown Columbia, over into Cayce and West Columbia. This challenging course features hills, two bridges and great views. There is a two-hour time limit for the 15k. The course will close at 10 a.m. After 10 a.m., participants are continuing at their own risk.

3 THE NOT-SO-LONG RUN 5K Starts at 8:30 a.m. Presented by The Not-So-Long Run 5k takes runners and walkers through historic downtown Columbia, winding through the Robert Mills Historic District with wide streets, larger trees and early 20th century homes.

4 THE KIDS FUN RUN Starts at 8:15 a.m. Presented by This half-mile course is fun for all ages! PARKING Parking is available in metered spaces surrounding the Main Street area. There are also a number of parking garages nearby, including a city garage at the corner of Sumter Street and Taylor Street. WATER STOPS AND MEDICAL SUPPORT There will be water stops throughout the 15k and 5k courses. Water Stop 1: Past mile 1 (both 15k and 5k) Water Stop 2: Past mile 3 (15k) Water Stop 3: Past mile 5 (15k) Water Stop 4: Past mile 7 (15k) There will be medical, police and EMS personnel throughout the course, as well as dozens of course volunteers keeping our participants and spectators safe.

5 PACKET PICK-UP We encourage participants to pick up packets early to avoid race-day rush. We are not able to mail race packets in advance or after the event. There will be no holding area for packets or personal items on race day. Friday, February 2nd 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Strictly Running 2515 Devine Street Columbia, SC Saturday, February 3rd Beginning at 7 a.m. First Citizens Plaza Lobby Corner of Main Street and Lady Street You may have a friend or family member pick up your packet. Please make sure they have the name you registered under and your bib number. Bib numbers will be sent via to participants the week of the race. RACE TRANSFERS If you need to change your race distance, please let a volunteer know at the Packet Pick-Up, or contact Strictly Running in advance. You will not be charged to drop to a shorter distance; however, you will be charged the difference to move to a longer distance. Bibs can be transferred to another runner for an additional fee. There are no refunds. VOLUNTEERS It takes an army of volunteers to make the MGC Long Run a reality! Our volunteers brave the cold bright and early on race day to ensure runner safety and set up for the event. Be sure to thank your course marshalls and volunteers. SPECTATORS We encourage spectators! We will have a DJ, free donuts and coffee, courtesy of Starbucks, at the Race Party area and invite your family and friends to stick around to cheer you on. RACE RESULTS Live results will be available at the Strictly Running tent at the finish line. They will also be posted after the race at AWARDS The MGC Long Run 15k and 5k give cash awards to overall winners, as well as awards in each age group.
