When a participant misspells a word, he/she immediately drops out of the contest. The next word is given to the next participant. 2. When the participants are reduced to two, the elimination procedure changes - At that point, when one participant misspells a word, the same word will be passed on to the second participant If the second contestant spells the passed on word correctly, she/he shall be given one more word from the Bee Master's list. If the second participant spells this word also correctly he/she shall be declared the champion of the Bee. If a participant correctly spells the word passed on to him/her and fails with the new word given, the misspelled word shall be referred to the other participant. If the other participant then succeeds in spelling the word passed on to him/her and correctly spells the next word from the Bee Master's list, then he/she shall be declared the champion. If both spellers misspell the same word, both shall continue in the contest, and the one who first misspelled the word shall be given a new word to spell. The pattern will continue until one of the participants is declared as the champion. Page 17
