9 T2 Check-in procedures Athletes Lounge (Royal Palace) Leave your run equipment in your designated box; the Technical Officials, will put it in place in your designated place in the Transition Area Spare wheels must be left at Athletes Lounge at the Palace Venue

12 Check-in procedures Athletes Lounge (lake) Bike Check Approval for the addition/modification of any equipment to the bike, MUST be obtained from the TD at the end of the athletes briefing Mechanic service available

15 Pre-start Procedure Athlete Introduction: 10 minutes before the start line up before the pontoon Jog to the platform Select your position and stay behind the line! Athlete s are required to wear the official swim cap from the moment of the athletes line-up

16 Start Procedure Athletes in position: The start can be given any time after the TD announces On your mark Electric horn blast The race starts Athletes not moving forward at the start will receive a time penalty of 15 seconds in TA1.

17 False Start Procedures False start Example 1: Several horn blasts Kayaks in front of you Everyone goes back to her/his original start spot False start Example 2: If someone starts before the horn and everyone else starts with the horn, the athlete who started early will receive a time penalty of 15 seconds in TA1. During the time penalty the athlete does not touch any equipment!

22 Transition Area Individual Bike Racks number, name and country flag Helmet on the bike (open) Wetsuits {if applicable}, googles & swim caps into the box Equipment will be taken back to the recovery area In an individual bike rack, the bike must be racked in the first transition by the rear wheel and in the second transition by either of the wheels Mount line at the end of the TA Inmediately after the last athlete; a car with the neutral wheels will go until the Royal Palace and will remain until the end of the bike segment

33 Run Penalty Box Refer to 3.3 on the Competition Rules Start and Swim infringements will be served in TA1 TA1, Bike, TA2 and Run Infringements will be served in Run Penalty Box (Transition will be videotaped for infringements) Location: At the Run U Turn before the Transition Area Information: White board to show race numbers (Athletes need to read the board coaches are advised to check and inform their athletes) Procedure: 15 seconds time penalty served on any lap of the run If you don t stop DSQ

34 Run Penalty Box Rule interpretation Mount after the mount line: One foot of the athlete has to be in contact with the floor after the mount line. If this contact doesn t occur the action is considered as mount the bike before the mount line. Dismount before the dismount line: One foot of the athlete has to be in contact with the floor before the dismount line. If this contact doesn t occur the action is considered as dismount the bike before the dismount line. Discharge or store your equipment inside your designated area: Leaving the equipment s(swim cap, googles, helmet, etc.) in the designated box. Rack the bike inside your own space: In case of Traditional bike rack, the bike must be racked with at least one side of the handlebar or the seatpost with 0,5m to the name plate. In case of Individual bike race, the bike must be racked with the front wheel to the designated rack.

36 Ambush Marketing Rules Ambush marketing is defined as: Deliberately using the opportunity of live television and media photographers to acquire additional exposure for your sponsor product, apparel or brand. The consequence for this behavior is: The athlete will immediately forfeit the prize money for that event, as well as primes, if any;

37 Post-race Procedures Anti-Doping Control Photo ID is needed for every athlete to have ready for Doping Control Medical Only team medical will be allowed to enter the medical tent after the LOC Doctor s perimission. Every NF can have 1 team medical accreditation but for team doctors only
