9 Check-in procedures Athletes Lounge Bike Check: Men in Transition, Women in Athletes Lounge Refer to 5.2 in competition rules Handle bars with clips-on Wheels and spare wheels (non authorized UCI wheels rule) Leave your spare wheels in Athletes Lounge Bike frame Saddle position ( -5 cm Men & -2 cm Women) Approved exceptions on ITU website

10 Check-in procedures Athletes Lounge Uniform check (name, country, logos, ITU logo, zippers) photos taken of each uniform. Wearing other uniform during the race = DSQ Body marking check (both arms, both legs) Timing chip distribution (1 for the ankle) Swim cap distribution Leave your bag in the Athletes Lounge

11 Check-in procedures Transition Area Helmet check- Don t leave your helmet fastened in the transition The athlete who does not comply to this rule will receive a time penalty in TA1. Running Shoes outside the box, helmet on the bike To add any equipment to the bike, you must obtain approval from the Race Referee up until 10 minutes after the end of the Athletes Briefing.

12 Pre-start Procedure Athlete Introduction: 10 minutes before start - line-up Jog to the carpet on the beach Select your position and stay behind the line! Athlete s are required to wear the official swim cap from the moment of the athletes line-up

13 Start Procedure Athletes in position: The start can be given any time after the TD announces On your mark Air horn blast The race starts Athletes not moving forward at the start will receive a time penalty in TA1.

14 False Start Procedures False start with many athletes: Several horn blasts Kayaks move in front of you Everyone goes back to her/his original start spot Valid start with early starters: If a few athletes start before the horn and everyone else starts with the horn, the false starter(s) will receive a 10 second penalty in TA1. During the time penalty, the athlete(s) may NOT touch any equipment.

26 Run course 2 laps (total distance of 5km) Aid stations: 3 per lap..will go past six times For locations see the map Sealed water, Gatorade, and sponges Discard plastic bottles within the littering zones. (20m before and 80m after Aid stations) Photo-finish Congestion in finish area: Go to mixed zone / recovery area

29 Run Penalty Box Refer to 3.3 on the Competition Rules Start and Swim infringements will be served in TA1 TA1, Bike, TA2 and Run Infringements will be served in Run Penalty Box (Transition will be videotaped for infringements) Location: 50 m before Transition Area Information: White board to show race numbers (Athletes need to read the board coaches are advised to check and inform their athletes) Procedure: 10 sec time penalty served on any lap of the run If you don t stop DSQ

30 Run Penalty Box Rule interpretation Mount after the mount line: One foot of the athlete has to be in contact with the floor after the mount line. If this contact doesn t occur the action is considered as mount the bike before the mount line. Dismount before the dismount line: One foot of the athlete has to be in contact with the floor before the dismount line. If this contact doesn t occur the action is considered as dismount the bike before the dismount line. Discharge or store your equipment inside your designated area: Leaving the equipment s(swim cap, googles, helmet, etc.) in the designated box. Rack the bike inside your own space: In case of Traditional bike rack, the bike must be racked with at least one side of the handlebar or the seatpost with 0,5m to the name plate. In case of Individual bike race, the bike must be racked with the front wheel to the designated rack.

32 Ambush Marketing Rules Ambush marketing is defined as: Deliberately using the opportunity of live television and media photographers to acquire additional exposure for your sponsor product, apparel or brand. The consequence for this behavior is: 1. The athlete will immediately forfeit their prize money for that event, as well as primes, if any;

33 Post-race Procedures Anti-Doping Control Photo ID is needed for every athlete to have ready for Doping Control Team Medical Access Only team medical will be allowed to enter the medical tent after the LOC Doctor s perimission. Every NF can have 1 team medical accreditation but for team doctors only

34 Coaches areas Accreditation Coach will receive accreditation after the briefing Only Coaches who have been registered from their NF into the ITU online system are entitle for an accreditation
