The event is held at the Cliftn Leisure Centre, Suthchurch Drive, Cliftn, Nttingham, NG11 8AB Parking There is limited parking at the Leisure Centre. Crnerstne, the Cliftn Medical Centre (just next dr) have als kindly agreed we can use their car park fr parking. 2 Race Numbers and Medical Infrmatin We request that all cmpetitrs write their next f kin & cntact details n the back f their race numbers using a waterprf pen. If yu have any type f medical cnditin, please write a large MC n the bttm left f yur race number. Please write yur medical cnditin fully n the back f yur number als. Yu will be given ne race number please wear this n yur frnt, pinning all 4 sides, if using a T shirt r if using a number belt wear it n yur back fr the bike and yur frnt fr the run. Please bring yur wn safety pins. We will nt supply any safety pins. Registratin All cmpetitrs will need t register t pick up yur race pack n the day. Race Registratin will take place inside the Leisure Centre if wet r windy r utside, arund the back f the building if dry (fllw signs). Please ensure that befre registering yu knw yur race number. These will be displayed at/near the registratin area. Yur race pack will cntain 1 x race number, 1 x bike sticker, 1 x helmet sticker. Please keep yur race number safe, they are required fr entry int transitin. Timing chips will be issued plside and cllected back in after yu have crssed the finish line. If fr any reasn yu d nt finish the event, please ensure yur timing chip is returned. There will be a charge fr lst/nn returned chips. Registratin times: :45 Yth &TS TS2 11: TS TS Start Race Briefing: 9.30 Yth, TS TS2 & TS1, Tristar Start. It is here that yu will be briefed n the curse and ntified f any safety issues r changes t the race. Yu must attend the briefing, it will be held clse t transitin entrance

3 We d strngly recmmend yu arrive either befre the event starts t ride arund the bike curse (curse will be pen frm am t practice) r alternatively if yu are arriving later, walk arund the edge f the curse t be sure that yu are aware f exactly where yu need t g - there are multiple tight turns n the bike curse which yu need t be prepared fr. Transitin Area The Transitin Area will be situated n the grass t the rear f the sprts centre by the swim exit. This is a semi-secured area fr cmpetitrs nly, where yu will leave yur bike during the swim and run sectins. Befre yu start, yu will need t set up yur transitin all the kit yu require during the race. T get int Transitin yu must shw yur race number at ALL times. Yu will als be asked t shw bth yur race number & bike number when taking yur bike ut. There may be queues during peak times. Parents will nt be allwed in transitin. If this is yur child s first race experienced marshals will be n hand t help. Make sure that yur child practices finding their bike it isn t easy. We will have marshals t help TS1 and TSS un-racking and racking during the race. Transitin will be pen thrughut the day but is nt big enugh fr all the bikes we have entered s we will need t clear and rack bikes thrughut the race. Yu WILL NOT be able t rack yur bike until yur alltted time. We will pst which numbers we are allwing t rack n a white bard at the entrance t transitin. Please leave the bard access free and d nt hang abut at transitin entrance until yur number is n the bard Yth TS TS TS TS Start We will need t clear Yuth/TS3 bikes ASAP t make rm please cllect yur bike prmptly after finishing if nt we will have t mve it fr yu t a hlding area (between the pl exit and transitin). Please be aware that there will be thers racing take care nt t get in their way and fllw marshal s instructins at all times. Nte these imprtant rules abut yu and yur bike they must be beyed!! Yu must nt ride yur bike in transitin Yur t-shirt/number belt, shes and helmet must be put n after the swim. Befre yu tuch yur bike yur helmet must be securely fastened n yur head D nt munt (get n) yur bike until the sign telling yu t d s When yu have finished the bike sectin yu must get ff it at the dismunt sign Yu must nt und yur helmet until yu have racked yur bike in the same place yu left it In the transitin area yu must nt use any ther equipment e.g. ballns, talc n the flr etc t identify the lcatin f yur bike. If yu are riding yur bike befre r after the race e.g. warming up r t/frm the car yu must wear an apprved cycle helmet Swim The pl is 25 metres, yu cannt walk alng the bttm f the pl and yu cannt run alng the plside. Start times crrespnd t yur estimated swim time frm yur entry frm s yu will be with cmpetitrs f a similar standard. We will be setting yu ff with 2 swimmers per lane. Yu MUST arrive n plside 10 minutes befre yur start time we cannt wait fr yu. Yu are nt allwed t d butterfly r backstrke. Yu must start in the water - there is t be n diving GROUP Yuths Tristar 3 Tristar 2 Tristar 1 Tristar Start Swim 400m (16 lengths) 300m (12 lengths) 200m (8 lengths) 150m (6 lengths) 50m (2 lengths)

4 Tumble turns are allwed Yu are still respnsible fr cunting the number f lengths! TIP!! Fr lder athletes especially, thse swimming 400m and 300m having a rugh idea f yur swim time will really help if yu lse cunt. Whilst unable t cunt lengths r take respnsibility fr yur swim distance the swim marshal will be happy t tell yu the time n the running clck. Knwing this shuld help yu wrk ut if yu have swum far enugh. Only cmpetitrs are allwed n the plside. Unfrtunately, the plside area is nt large enugh fr parents / carers t spectate. Please respect this rule and stay ff the plside. Bike The bike will take place n a fully taped/marked curse GROUP Bike within the park grunds at the rear f the sprts centre. The bike curse is entirely ff rad and is technical Yuths 8k [8] with several tight turns per lap (2 are ff-camber) and Tristar 3 6k [6] uneven with tree rts in places (all easily ride-able but Tristar 2 4k [4] will be slippery when wet). We recmmend treaded tyres (muntain bike r cycl crss bike) but yu are Tristar 1 2k [2] welcme t use a rad bike with slick tyres if yu Tristar Start 1k [1 lap] chse t. If there has been a heavy dew the curse may be slippery. If the there has been heavy rain the curse will likely get muddy n the racing line as fr large parts there is little grass under the many trees en rute, this may make it difficult n slick tyres. Please make sure yu knw where the munt and dismunt lines are s yu knw when yu can get n and ff yur bike and take special care where riders are jining and leaving the curse see maps. Yu must cunt yur bike laps unfrtunately nt cmpleting enugh laps will likely mean disqualificatin marshals cannt cunt yur laps please dn t ask them!! Run The run will als take place n a fully taped/marked curse within the park t the rear f the sprts centre. A marshal will be handing ut elastic bands t Yuth and TS3 t help them t cunt laps. Fr thse ding three laps r less we think yu are all clever enugh t d withut! Results Tristar Start 600 [1 lap] Results will be psted as sn as pssible after the end f each race. Yu will have 15 minutes after the psting f the results t ldge any appeals. Please d nt try t rush the results service. Yu will be able t find yur wn time ut directly after the finish at the timing tent. Presentatins We will have presentatins after the last TSS race has finished. Please try and stay (r return) if yu can. Please nte that winners trphies will nt be psted ut t entrants. Phtgraphy As this is a Children s event all spectatrs are asked t sign a phtgraphers register if they wish t take phts f the cmpetitrs. Upn signing the register, yu will be issued with a sticker, which yu must display. Refreshments and fd Back by ppular demand, we have arranged fr Purely Wd Fired Pizza - a mbile pizza caterer t be at the event. Please see fr mre details. This is a lcal cmpany wh is registered and inspected with the lcal authrity Rushcliffe Brugh Cuncil. We will als have a cffee van n site t. 5 All cmpetitrs must attend a race briefing prir t racing Tilets are inside the leisure centre. There will be drinks available as yu run rund if thirsty sip a small muthful f water d nt drink lts, yu will prbably just end up feeling sick r getting a stitch, if ht thrw water ver yur head. Drinking water in shrt races f less than 30mins will mre likely hinder (stitch/feeling sick) rather than imprve yur perfrmance - it takes 20min minimum fr liquid t clear the gut. Instead make sure yur child starts the race hydrated and cl! If yu are putting yur race number n a t-shirt make sure yu dn t pin the frnt t the back! If yu are ging t use a number belt, yu must still wear a t-shirt r a tri-suit. Smile and enjy yurself! Parents / Spectatrs The curse has been designed t be spectatr friendly the park is small and the curses duble back a lt s it is easy t see the athletes n numerus ccasins per lap the curse is fully taped fr the athletes safety s yu can nly crss the curses at designated crssing pints. If yu are at a crssing pint and instructed by a marshal t wait then yu must wait. Please be patient and appreciate the fact that all the vlunteers here tday have given up their time willingly and fr free. Please mve rund the curse encuraging yur child in fact please encurage all cmpetitrs! In encuraging yur child yu must nt under any circumstances run alngside yur child, this is cnsidered pacing and he/she will be disqualified. If yu have any questins abut the race then yu can ask these at the race briefing. Yu can als ask any questins t the registratin team while yur child is cllecting their numbers etc. If this is yur child s first triathln dn t hesitate t ask fr any clarificatins. If yu need t help yur child t get changed befre the event there are changing rms available in the leisure centre. If yur child is a member f British Triathln they will have t shw their membership card. If yu frget t bring it yu will have t purchase a day licence fr 1. Take yur time and practice befre the race.
