9 Check-in procedures Transition Area Bike check: handlebars & wheels,saddle position (non authorized UCI wheels rule) Helmet check- Don t leave your helmet fastened in the transition The athlete who misses to comply with this rule will receive a time penalty of 15 seconds in Penalty Box. Running Shoes outside the box, helmet on the bike Spare wheels to the wheel-station To add any equipment to the bike, you must obtain approval from the Race Referee up until 10 minutes after the end of the Athletes Briefing.

10 Check-in procedures Athletes Lounge Uniform check(name, Country code, ITU logo, zippers) Timing chip(both on left and right ankle) and Swim cap Body marking (both arms, both legs) Using Body Decals

11 Pre-start Procedure Athlete Introduction: 10 minutes before start gather at holding area, line-up near the swim exit Jog to the platform Select your position and stay behind the line! Athlete blocking more than one place will result in a DSQ Do not change your positions Do not block

12 Start Procedure Athletes in position: The start can be given any time after the Starter announces On your mark Air horn blast The race starts Athletes not moving forward at the start will receive a time penalty of 15 seconds in TA1.

13 False Start Procedures False start Example 1: Several horn blasts Kayaks in front of you Everyone goes back to her/his spot False start Example 2: If someone starts before the horn and everyone else starts with the horn, the athlete who false started will receive a time penalty of 15 seconds in T1. During the time penalty athlete can not take any equipment!

15 Swim course Water temperature: 11.9 C Possibility of Duathlon is very high. In case of Duathlon, 5k run / 40km bike / 10km run In case of Swim, 750m swim and wetsuit use is mandatory 750m swim + 40km Bike + 10km run Distance to the first turn buoy about 300 m Place cap and goggles into your boxes in Transition Area

24 Bike course 6 laps (total distance of 40 km) Mostly Flat 2 Wheel Stations 1 Neutral wheel station (6 Sets of Shimano 11 Gears) 1 Team wheel station (40m from Transition) For locations see the map Lap Counter: in the Transition in front of Grand Stand Lapped athletes are out of the race. (last biker lapped by first runner)

26 First runner last biker case Last biker will be stopped at Dismount Line when the runners are entering the TA in their 2 nd lap run. Last biker will not be DSQ and is only allowed to enter TA when the Run Course is clear of runners

30 Run Penalty Box Refer to 3.3 on the Competition Rules Start infringements will be served in T1 Swim, T1, Bike, T2 and Run Infringements will be served in Run Penalty Box (Transition will be videotaped for infringements) Location: Beside the Transition Area (across dismount line) Information: White board to show race numbers and alphabets to indicate violations (Athletes need to read the board coaches are advised to check and inform their athletes) Procedure: 10-second time penalty served on any lap of the run (Transition and run infringements) Athletes have the option to decide whether to stop at the penalty box and serve the penalty or continue to the finish. Not stopping will result in DSQ on crossing the finish line. The athlete may then appeal the penalty. Evidence will only be made available if an appeal is filed.

31 Run Penalty Box Rule interpretation Mount after the mount line: An athlete s foot must contact the ground past the mount line, before the athlete mounts the bike. If this contact doesn t occur, it is considered an infringement of the rules (M). Dismount before the dismount line: An athlete s foot must contact the ground before the dismount line after the athlete dismounts the bike. If this contact doesn t occur, it is considered an infringement of the rules (D). Discharge or store your equipment inside your designated area: Leaving the equipment (swim cap, goggles, helmet, etc.) in the designated box. If leaving the equipment outside the box, it is considered an infringement of the rules (E).
