This event is organised by Snowsport England. We would like to thank the management and staff of Norfolk Snowsports Club and all volunteers for their assistance, without whom there would not be a race. Ambition GBR Race Series Sponsorship The Ambition GBR Race Series brings together national domestic races across the UK with race weekends being organised by the Home Nations in England, Scotland and Wales both on indoor and outdoor artificial slopes. 2 Acceptance Entry fee for this event is 22 per race. Online entry is available at until Wednesday 27th April 2016 at 6pm without incurring a late entry fee. IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO SUBMIT AN ONLINE ENTRY, PLEASE SEND A POSTAL ENTRY AND CHEQUE TO THE RACE SECRETARY BY WEDNESDAY 27 th APRIL 2016 AND ADVISE THE RACE SECRETARY BY THAT YOU HAVE POSTED YOUR ENTRY. At the Jury meeting - 92 entries were accepted for GBR race 1, 21 U10/U12, 25 Females and 46 Males - 93 entries were accepted for GBR race 2, 21 U10/U12, 25 Females and 47 Males Entries from racers with a P note by their name on the enclosed acceptance list were provisionally accepted and must make Payment by 6pm on 27 th April 2016 to be included on the start list. The number of entrants is limited to a maximum of 180. In the event of the race being oversubscribed, acceptance will be determined by seed points using the Outdoor BARTS list current as at the closing date for entries.(2016.0) Racers with lower seed points will be given preference. PROGRAMME Ambition GBR Outdoor Series Race 1 and Race 2 The race will be run as a special slalom consisting of 2 runs down two different courses. The first run will be in reverse bib order. The second and final will be in reverse time order based on the time from the first run and both must be completed. For U10/U12 the format for the event will be 2 runs through a stubbies course, of which the fastest of the runs will count for prizes. This race is open to registered racers in the Under 10 category (YOB ) and Under 12 category ( ) Individual Dual Event Saturday 30 th April (sponsored by Ski Bartlett) This will be an individual dual slalom open to Female and Male competitors, U14 age group and older. The event will be restricted to the best ranked 16 Female and 32 Male racers (lowest outdoor seedpoints on obarts Outdoor Seed List ) on the Run 1 start list for GBR race 1. 3 Every attempt will be made to keep to the event schedule; however the organisers reserve the right to amend the schedule as appropriate. Start Order The start order for both races will be drawn at the Jury meeting on Wednesday 27 th April 2016 using obarts Outdoor Seed List ; this seed list can be found on the web site The start lists will be published on and on the official notice board at Norfolk Snowsports Club on race days. For the first run, Female and Male, the top 15 seeded competitors will be drawn with the remaining racers running in seed point order. The first run will be in reverse bib order; the second run will be in reverse time order from the first run. For the U10/U12 group they will be randomly drawn for the first run, with the girls going first followed by the boys. For the U10/U12 second run the start order will be reversed. Open Practice On Friday evening, 29 th April, the Norfolk slope will be open for Open Practice from 6.45pm to 8.45pm. Cost to nonclub members will be 7.50 per person for the practice session. Race Rules / Health & Safety The race will be run in accordance with FIS rules as varied by SSE and published in the BACR. Please see for BACR rules. During inspection racers need to wear or carry their bib so that it is visible. This is to show that you are entitled to be in the course area. Inspection on foot by racers is not permissible Helmets must been worn by racers/forerunners at all times whilst on the slope. All racers are advised to read the race manual available at: / Helmets- Racers are reminded of the new helmet rules, details of which can be found at: The U10 / U12 course will be run using stubbies and will not be seeded. Please note coloured lubricant is NOT permitted on the slope Gloves and long sleeved garments which also cover the midriff must be worn at all times whilst on the slope, including during open practice, course inspection and the race itself. Awards Awards for overall 1st, 2nd & 3rd Male & Female racers will be presented at each race. Age group awards for 1st 2nd 3rd male & female in the following categories. Masters 1986 and before Seniors Under , 1997, 1996 Under , 1999 Under , 2001 Under , 2003 Under , 2005 Under , 2007 Overall Series Awards will be presented following the last races of the GBR Series.

4 The winners will be expected to show due courtesy to the organisers by attending the prize giving. Those who do not attend without good reason lose their claim to an award. Withdrawals Following entry into the race, a partial refund will only be given to racers on production of a medical certificate. Refreshments There will be food and drink available for sale throughout the event either from the bar or from the Barbeque First Aid Qualified First Aid personnel will be in attendance at the race. Photography An accredited photographer is to be in place for the race. No other photographers will be permitted on the slope itself without prior approval by the organisers. Racers who wish to opt out of having their photographs taken by an accredited photographer must inform the Race Secretary prior to the day of the race. 5 Directions Leave the A47 Southern By-Pass at the A146 exit, turn left at the first traffic lights towards the City Centre and then turn right at the second set of lights. Follow the ring road until you reach a round-about. Take the fourth exit signposted, 'Trowse'. Follow the road for approximately ¼ mile then take a left turning signposted 'Ski Slope'. Norfolk Ski slope is approximately 250yards on the right. The route to the ski slope is signposted by brown tourist signs.
