4 SUPPLEMENTARY SAILING INSTRUCTIONS 1. RULES The race is governed by the Notice of Race, the Sailing Instructions published in the YWA Offshore Handbook 2016/17 and by these Supplementary Sailing Instructions. In the event of conflict, these Supplementary Sailing Instructions will prevail. 2. START HALLS HEAD OCEAN RACE 2.1 Starting Area - Fremantle 2.2 The start line port end marker buoy will be a yellow inflatable buoy. 2.3 The Day Buoy will be a yellow inflatable buoy. 2.4 Warning Signal times: Double-Handed 0925 Division Division Division START POINT ROBERT RETURN OCEAN RACE 3.1 The Committee Boat will be positioned north of Point Robert. 3.2 The Start Pin will be a yellow inflatable buoy. 3.3 The Day Buoy will be a yellow inflatable buoy. 3.4 Warning Signal times: Double-Handed 0925 Division Division Division COURSES 4.1 HALLS HEAD OCEAN RACE Course 2 Div 3 & Double Handed is amended such that Sea Mark off Southern End Horseshoe Reef (to Port) is inserted after Coventry Reef. 4.2 POINT ROBERT RETURN OCEAN RACE - Course 2 Div 3 & Double Handed is amended such that Sea Mark off Southern End Horseshoe Reef (to Starboard) is inserted after Day Buoy. 5. RADIO COMMUNICATION PROCEDURES 5.1 RACE COMMUNICATIONS All race communications will be conducted on VHF Channel 82. HF 4146 will be monitored for the duration of the race by Success. 5.2 PRE RACE RADIO CHECKS Offshore Race Control at the Fremantle Sailing Club Radio Room will open at 0830 hours Saturday 25 March 2017 for radio checks on VHF Channel 82 and HF 4146 for the Halls Head Ocean Race Offshore Race Control on Success will open at 0830 hours on Sunday 26 March 2017 for radio checks for the Point Robert Return Race. 5.3 On Saturday, the Fremantle Sailing Club Radio Room will remain on watch until Success takes over, which will remain on watch until the last boat has finished.

POSITION REPORTS 6.1 Position reports as specified in Sailing Instruction 17.4 will not be required MANDATORY RADIO CALLS HALLS HEAD OCEAN RACE Division 1 & 2 boats shall report to Offshore Race Control by radio when rounding the sea mark off Peelhurst. Division 3 & Double-Handed boats shall report to Offshore Race Control by radio when passing the Horseshoe Reef Sea Mark. 6.3 MANDATORY RADIO CALLS POINT ROBERT RETURN RACE Boats shall report to Offshore race control by radio: (a) When abeam of Coventry Reef, and (b) When abeam of No 12 Channel Marker.. 7. AFTER FINISHING AT MANDURAH After crossing the Finish Line yachts should contact Mandurah Tower on Channel 74 to be directed to their allocated mooring. 8. SOUTH MOLE FINISH LINE As SI PRIZES Divisions 1, 2, 3 and Double-Handed - YAH Divisions 1, 2, 3 and Double-Handed - IRC Divisions 1, 2, 3 and Double-Handed - LINE HONOURS The MANDURAH CUP will be awarded to the yacht with the best combined corrected time on YAH in the Halls Head and Point Robert Return Ocean Races. The MANDURAH SHIELD will be awarded to the club whose team has the lowest total YAH corrected time for the Halls Head Ocean Race. 10. ANNOUNCEMENT OF RESULTS 10.1 Halls Head Ocean Race Announcement of results and presentation of trophies and pennants will be on Saturday 25 March at approximately 1800 hours, or half an hour after the last boat has finished, whichever is the later, at Mandurah Offshore Fishing and Sailing Club. All skippers, crew, partners and friends are welcome Point Robert Return Ocean Race Announcement of results and presentation of prizes and pennants will be on Sunday 26 March, approximately one hour after the last yacht finishes, at Fremantle Sailing Club on the Sunset Deck. Food will be available and all skippers, crew, partners and friends are welcome.

6 11. HANDICAPS See separate attachment. HALLS HEAD & POINT ROBERT RETURN OCEAN RACES - TROPHIES MANDURAH SHIELD - Fremantle Sailing Club -v- Mandurah Offshore Fishing and Sailing Club Competition for this shield was reinstated in 1998 following a lapse of a number of years. Conditions: Fremantle Sailing Club matches all Mandurah Offshore Fishing and Sailing Club yachts with similarly handicapped yachts. The Club whose boats have the lowest total corrected time on YAH for the Halls Head Ocean Race wins the Shield for that year. MANDURAH CUP Best Combined Corrected Time Awarded in each division to the lowest total corrected time on YAH for the Halls Head and Point Robert Return Ocean Races.

7 Halls Head & Point Robert Return Ocean Races FINISHING PROCEDURES AT MOFSC Finishing Procedures 1. On finishing, please contact Mandurah Tower on VHF 74 to confirm your mooring or marina allocation. The mooring area is to the west of the Ocean Entrance, off the old yacht club. 2. All yachts for the Marina will be directed to a pen or the collector jetty (rafting may be required). Instructions to enter Channel and Marina 1. Due to silting, please see Attachment A. with current depths 2. If you intend to enter the Marina, proceed towards the outermost green buoy from a northwesterly direction, staying slightly to the north of the buoy. Keeping the green buoys on your starboard side, proceed into the entrance channel, taking the red buoy on the western side of the channel on your port side. 3. Staying on the western side of the channel, continue until you can turn at right angles into the Marina. The water depth across the Marina Entrance is the shallowest of the track, but has a sandy bottom, so proceed slowly staying close to the central yellow separator buoy. Once over the entrance bar, the water depth is ample throughout the Marina. Water Taxi All communications with the water taxi service will be on VHF 74.
