2 Photo Fabio Taccola BARCOLANA 50 T he 50th edition of BARCOLANA took place on Sunday, October 14th; as many as 2687 crews registered for the race; every record of participation has been crushed, even if we compare it to the past 2017 edition, where the record of the most crowded sailing regatta in the world had been established. As usual, Bamar was on board the Maxi Farr 80 Ancilla Domini. The boat has recently been skillfully restored and transformed into fast cruising, without altering its original characteristics of a true racer built in the 90s exclusively for ocean racing. Bamar supplied: foresail furling motorization EJF2, RLG EVO 20 for the furling CODE 0, and electric retrofit motorizations for the winches, which were originally controlled by grinders. On board, a crew partially made by professionals to manage the maneuvers together with Dario Noseda (Sailor of the Year of Il Giornale della Vela and Bamar testimonial), and many VIP guests including Andrea Illy (boat owner) and the mayor of Milan Giuseppe Sala. Perfect weather conditions with sun and Bora wind on the classical regatta course, which Ancilla Domini ended with an excellent 8th place. Packages usually include either a 4-way multi-function, or a single SMALL BHP panel control unit dedicated to Race boats. Backstay cylinders, boom vangs, and outhaul and halyard cylinders complete the kit. Upon demand, we may supply cylinders with custom strokes to be used on race boats for the forestay adjustment. Many shipyards make use of our BSCP spherical fulcrum cylinders, combined with mini electrohydraulic power packs, to control garage doors or bathing platforms. The distinctive characteristics of these unusual double-acting cylinders is their self-aligning spherical fulcrum. Thus, external overall dimensions are reduced to the minimum and the aft tender garage is watertight. BSCP cylinder rods have a suitable diameter to hold high peak loads. Courtesy by Solaris

Hydraulic flush-deck furlers with spherical fulcrum GFSI 25 and GFSI 16 control forestay and staysail respectively. The extreme bow houses a CODE SI 15t flush-deck furler. Hydraulic cylinders and boom vang complete the supply. GFSE SWAN 78 Our flush-deck electric foresail furler GFSE 16 with integrated stay tensioning cylinder has been delivered and installed on SWAN 78 #02. The unit had been expressly customized for the prestigious Finnish shipyard. The production of the hulls of this new instantly appreciated 78 continues. PAD EYE D uring the recent Genoa International Boat Show, for the second year running, Bamar was awarded the ADI Industrial Design Association special mention for CODE PE.

5 CODE SIC SEC W e are currently starting with the production schedule of the new CODE SIC-SEC furling unit. This new furling motorization is specifically designed to be combined with performing No Torsion structural stays. The unit, available either hydraulically or electrically motorized, combines the functionality of the rotation of the stay with its hydraulic tensioning. This is possible thanks to a self-aligning spherical fulcrum integrated on a flange structurally mounted on deck. The 10t WL size will be available shortly. PAD EYE D uring the recent Genoa International Boat Show, for the second year running, Bamar was awarded the ADI Industrial Design Association special mention for CODE PE. The Jury stated the furling pad-eye CODE PE is a highly representative object of the entire BAMAR production. The body is made of polished stainless steel, literally dug out from a block of solid material, designed and built with the most modern technologies, intended to last over time. A product that is simple in its functional idea, but manufactured following the criteria that guide Bamar brand standard production. A further recognition that witnesses the huge development and growth of Bamar. BWS NOMINATED 2018 T he new furling system for removable stays to be fitted on bowsprits, has been nominated by the International DAME Award Jury in the deck equipment, sails and rigging category to participate in the final selection for the highly prestigious award. DAME is the most prominent international prize awarded annually by a panel of experts at METS in Amsterdam. The vessel is one of a kind, not only because of its massive size, but also due to the high-end technology in the sail system gear supplied by BAMAR. BAMAR designs and manufactures customized, integrated hydraulic and electric solutions, to manage and control the sail system maneuvers. Specifically, for this vessel we have designed manufactured hydraulic boom vangs, hydraulic traveler kits for boom sheets, rams for boom control, electric captive winches for main halyards and sheets, and customized electric boom furling motorizations. QUALITY O ne of the main targets of the company is to ensure complete and constant customer satisfaction, to be reached by continuous Quality improvement. In this context, the need to ensure that all products that are being manufactured are in compliance with the required specifications, led Bamar to the development of a quality management system that has been certified in accordance with the standards ISO 9001 / UNI EN ISO 9001 : 2008 (SGS). Materials, design and production processes together contribute to maintain a high level of Bamar product quality: in the design phase, we proceed with the creation of a FEA model; then, once the production phase with CNC machines is completed, we first inspect the correspondence of the item made with the original design. Finally, after the final product has been assembled, we carry out tests on the test bench: we check product compliance, no-load operation and with maximum working load. The entire production cycle, from design to manufacturing and assembly, to final bench tests, is carried out in Italy in our headquarters in Forli. M5 (EX MIRABELLA V) 1 5 years have gone by since the launch of M5 (former MIRABELLA V) the super yacht that still holds the record for largest SLOOP in the world. Bamar designed and manufactured the three hydraulic s.s. foresail furlers. The Jib furling unit being the biggest furler ever made. Over the years, the units underwent various upgrades: stainless steel stays and aluminum furling foils were replaced by carbon equivalent items, with considerable weight reduction, while ordinary maintenance has involved the furling motorizations. BAMAR FACILITIES I n July 2010, Bamar premises moved to the industrial district of Villa Selva Forlì - Via F.lli Lumière, 45. The new area of square metres also includes the mechanical workshop, in order to guarantee a greater synergy between workshop and warehouse staff, and speed up production process, machining, assembly, test and product delivery. Bamar workshop boasts a production plant made by vanguard CNC machining centres that allow for high flexibility and production quality. Our company may thus grant a 360 service, starting from the mere client s requirement and ending up with the finished product.
