RULES Racing during this event will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing. 1.1 RRS Appendix P, Special Procedures for Rule 42, will apply. 1.2 Decisions of the International Jury when used will be final as provided in rule Only the prescriptions of the Canadian Yachting Association to rule 68 and all the prescriptions to Appendix F will apply. They can be found on the CYA website They will be stated in full in the Sailing Instructions that will be available at registration. 2. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY and Ontario Sailing invite sailors in the Laser, Laser Radial and Club 420 to CORK International The Regatta is open to class members who have met all class membership and measurement requirements. Participants must have completed registration and paid all event fees before beginning official competition. For the Laser and Laser Radial this is a youth event (18 years of age and younger as of Dec CORK International 2012 & Laser Youth North American Championships August 12-16, 2012,Kingston, Ontario 31 st 2012 U19) For Laser, Laser Radial, Club 420 This will be an Ontario Grand Prix event. See Ontario Sailing website for details. Please pre-register to assist in regatta planning. On-line registration can be found on our website: 3. ENTRY & FEES (We accept VISA, MC, Debit Cards, Money Orders, Bank Drafts or Cash) The entry fee covers racing, a regatta souvenir one light dinner and snacks after racing on 2 days. Also included is a per diem fee to the City of Kingston for use of facilities. 2 The regatta for some fleets may be divided into qualifying and final series. The decision will be made at the end of registration, Sunday, August 12 th. 5. COACHES AND COACH BOATS Coaches must register on line and list the fleet(s) and competitor(s) they are coaching in the Notes/Comment field. A numbered flag will be issued at check in and must be displayed. Coaches are invited to participate in after race snacks and light meals. There is no coach fee but a $20.00 deposit for the flag is required. Coaches are required to monitor the CORK course channel on their VHF radios and be available to assist with safety when requested. Coaches are expected to attend the coaches meeting each morning.

3 8. PRIZES AND AWARDS In consultation with the class associations, CORK will provide a variety of awards. For each One- Design fleet CORK medals will be awarded to the top three finishers. Additional prizes will depend upon the number of competitors in the fleet. Some class associations may provide their own additional awards. 8. RESPONSIBILITIES OF PARENTS, GUADIANS AND COACHES Each competitor under 18 years of age as of December 31 st 2012 must submit a completed PARENT/GUARDIAN DECLARATION prior to racing. 9. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY Athletes are entirely responsible for their own safety, whether afloat or ashore, and nothing reduces this responsibility. It is for athletes to decide whether their boat is fit to sail in the conditions in which it will find itself. By launching or going to sea athletes confirm the boat is fit for those conditions and they are competent to sail and compete in them. Nothing done by the organizers can reduce the responsibility of the owners and/or athletes, nor will it make the organizers responsible for any loss, damage, death or personal injury, however it may have occurred, as a result of the boat taking part in the racing. The organizers encompass everyone helping to run the event. The provision of patrol boats does not relieve owners and athletes of their responsibilities. 10. PHOTO AND VIDEO DISCLAIMER By participating in the event, competitors give absolute right and permission for any photograph and video footage taken of themselves or the boat they are sailing during the event, to be published in any media whatsoever, for either editorial or advertising purposes or to be used in press information without compensation. Competitors also agree to be bound by the Racing Rules of Sailing and by all other rules that govern this event.
