1 A maal for The Day of Ashura & Ziyara Arbaeen Salaams on Imam Husayn Salaams upon you, Ya Aba Abdillah And on those who were on your side putting themselves at your disposal I ask Allah to send His blessings on all of you for all the remaining days and nights of my life May Allah not make this the last promise of my association with you Salaams upon Husayn, and on Ali ibn Husayn, and on the children of Husayn and on the companions of Husayn.

2 A MAL FOR THE DAY OF ASHURA 1. On seeing each other give condolences with the following words: مه الس ل م اهلل ا ج ور ن او ا ج ور ك م م ب ص ابمن ا بمال س ي م ع ل ي ا عظ م و ج ع ل ن او امي اك م ممن الط المبمي بمث ا مر مهم ع و لميم مه ال مم ا مم ال ه مد مي ممن ا مل مهم الس ل م م م د ع ل ي May Allah bestow upon us and upon you great reward for grief for Husayn (pbuh), and make us and you amongst those who will assist Imam Mahdi (pbuh) to avenge his killing. 2. Recite Suratul Ikhlas 1000 times. 3. Recite the following 1000 times. مه الس ل م ا لل ه م ال ع ن ق ت ل ة ال س ي م ع ل ي O Allah! Send your la na (withholding divine mercy) on those who killed Husayn (pbuh) 4. Pray 4 rakats salaa in units of 2 rakats. 1 st Unit 2 nd Unit 1 st Rakat Suratul Hamd followed by Suratul Kafirun 2 nd Rakat Suratul Hamd followed by Suratul Ikhlas 1 st Rakat Suratul Hamd followed by Suratul Ahzaab 2 nd Rakat Suratul Hamd followed Suratul Munafiqun

3 5. Recite Ziyara of Ashura and 2 rakats salaa for Ziyara 6. Recite Dua Alqama 7. Go back and forth seven times reciting the following each time: (As Imam Husayn (pbuh) did when he was taking Ali Asgher back to the camp after Hurmala s arrow had struck) امن ا مل لم و امن اامل ي مه ر ا مجع و, مراابمض آ مه مه و س سلميما مل م مه مه Indeed we are from Allah and to Him we return, I accept what He has intended and am content with His order. 8. Recite Ziyara of Ta ziya (Condolence) at Asr time followed by 2 rakats salaa for Ziyara. Recite x 10 on the day of Ashura In the name of Allah, the مم Beneficent, the Merciful مما مهلل اله ح من اله محي بمس ا لل ه م ص لم ع ل م م د و ا مل م م د O Allah! Send blessings on Muhammad and on his most pure progeny. O Allah! I ask you in the name of Husayn And his grandfather and his father and his mother and his brother Relieve me of what I am in (anguish) With Your Mercy, O the most اله ا م حمي Merciful! ا لل ه م ام م ن ا سئ ل ك م ب قم ال س ي م و ج مه مه و ا مم مه و ا مخي و ا بمي ف همج ع م ن مه م ا ا ن افمي محم بمه ح تمك ي ا ا ر مد مه

4 SURATUL KAFIRUN In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful مما مهلل اله ح من اله محي مم بمس Say: O those who cover up the truth! ق ل ي أ ي ه اال ك اف ه و, (1) I do not serve that which you ل أ عب د م ا س عب د و, (2) serve, Nor do you serve Him Whom I و ل أ نت م ع ابمد و, م ا أ عب د (3) serve, Nor am I going to serve that و ل أ ن ا ع ابمد م ا ع ب دس م (4) serve, which you Nor are you going to serve Him و ل أ نت م ع ابمد و, م ا أ عب د (5) serve, Whom I You shall have your religion and I shall have my religion. SURATUL IKHLAS ل ك م مدين ك م و م ل مدي من (6) In the name of Allah, the Merciful. Beneficent, the مما مهلل اله ح من اله محي مم بمس One. Say: He, Allah, is ق ل ه و ال ل أ ح د (1) Allah is He on Whom all ا ل ل الص م د (2) depend. He begets not, nor is He begotten. ل م ي لمد و ل م ي ول د (3) و ل م ي ك ن ل ه ك ف وا أ ح د (4) Him. And none is like

5 SURATUL AHZAAB In the name of Allah, the مما مهلل اله ح من اله محي مم Merciful. Beneficent, the O Prophet! be careful of (your duty to) Allah and do not comply with (the wishes of) the unbelievers and the hypocrites; surely Allah is Knowing, Wise; بمس ن ي ا ي ه االن بمي اس مقال ل و ل س مط معال ك افم مهي مكيما و ال ن افمضمي ام, ال ل ك ا, ع لميماح (1) And follow what is revealed to you from your Lord; surely Allah is Aware of what you do; And rely on Allah; and Allah is sufficient for a Protector. Allah has not made for any man two hearts within him; nor has He made your wives whose backs you liken to the backs of your mothers as your mothers, nor has He made those whom you assert to be your sons your real sons; these are the words of your mouths; and Allah speaks the truth and He guides to the way. و اس بمعم ا ي و ح امل يك ممن ر بم ك ام, ال ل ك ا, م ب ا س عم ل و, خ بمريا (2) م مكي ل و س و ك ل ع ل ال ل مو ك ف بمال ل و (3) م ا ج ع ل ال ل ل م ه ج ل ممن ق لب ي م م فج وفم مهو م ا ج ع ل أ زو اج ك م ال ل مهي س ظ ا مهه و, ممنه ن اءك م أ بن اءك م معي أ م ه اسمك م و م ا ج ع ل أ د ذ لمك م ق ول ك م بمأ فو ا مهك م و ال ل ي ض ول ال ق و ه و ي ه مدي الس مبيل (4)

6 Assert their relationship to their fathers; this is more equitable with Allah; but if you do not know their fathers, then they are your brethren in faith and your friends; and there is no blame on you concerning that in which you made a mistake, but (concerning) that which your hearts do purposely (blame may rest on you), and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. The Prophet has a greater claim on the faithful than they have on themselves, and his wives are (as) their mothers; and the possessors of relationship have the better claim in the ordinance of Allah to inheritance, one with respect to another, than (other) believers, and (than) those who have fled (their homes), except that you do some good to your friends; this is written in the Book. And when We made a covenant with the prophets and with you, and with Nuh and Ibrahim and Musa and Isa, son of Maryam, ادع وه م م لب ا مه مهم ه و أ قس ط معند ال ل مف إم, ل م س عل م واآب اءه م ف إمخو ان ك م م فال مدي من و م و الميك م و ل يس ع ل يك م ج ن اح فميم ا أ خط أس مبم مهو ل مكن م ا س ع م د ت ق ل وب ك م و ك ا, ال ل غ ف ورا ر محيما (5) الن بمي أ و ل بمال ؤ مم مني ممن أ نف مس مهم و أ زو اج ه أ م ه ا ت م و أ ول و ال رح ا مم ب عآ ه م أ و ل بمب عض م ف مكت ا مب ال ل م ممن ال ؤ مم مني و ال ه ا مج مهين إمل أ, س فع ل وا إم ل أ ولمي ا مهك م م عه وفا ك ا, ذ لمك م فال مكت ا مب م سط ورا (6) ممن ك و إمذ أ خ ذن ا ممن الن بميمي مميث اق ه م و و س و عمي س اب من و ممن ن وح و إمبه ا مهيم و م

7 and We made with them a م هي م و أ خ ذن ا ممنه م مميث اق ا غ لميظا strong covenant That He may question the truthfulness of their truth, and He has prepared for the unbelievers a painful punishment. O you who believe! Call to mind the favour of Allah to you when there came down upon you hosts, so We sent against them a strong wind and hosts, that you saw not, and Allah is Seeing what you do. When they came upon you from above you and from below you, and when the eyes turned dull, and the hearts rose up to the throats, and you began to think diverse thoughts of Allah. There the believers were tried and they were shaken with severe shaking. (7) لمي سأ ل الص ا مدقمي ع ن مهم مصدقم و أ ع د لملك افم مهين ع ذ اب ا أ لميما مهم (8) ي ا أ ي ه اال مذين آم ن وااذك ه وانمعم ة ال ل م ك م إمذ ج اءسك م ج ن ود ف أ رس لن ا ع ل ي ع ل ي مرحيا و ج ن ودال م س ه وه ا و ك ا, ال ل م ب ا مصريا س عم ل و, ب (9) إمذ ج اؤ وك م ممن ف وقمك م و ممن أ سف ل ممنك م و إمذز اغ ت ال بص ار و ب ل غ متال ض ل وب ال ن ا مجه و س ظ ن و, بمال ل م الظ ن ون ا (10) ممن و, و ز ل مزل وا مزل ز ال ه ن المك ابت ل م ي ال ؤ ش مديدا (11)

8 And when the hypocrites and those in whose hearts was a disease began to say: Allah and His Messenger did not promise us (victory) but only to deceive. And when a party of them said: O people of Yatrib! There is no place to stand for you (here), therefore go back; and a party of them asked permission of the prophet, saying. Surely our houses are exposed; and they were not exposed; they only desired to fly away. And if an entry was made upon them from the outlying parts of it, then they were asked to wage war, they would certainly have done it and they would not have stayed in it but a little while. And certainly they had made a covenant with Allah before, that they would not turn (their) backs; and Allah's covenant shall be inquired of. و إمذ ي ض ول ال ن افمض و, و ال مذين م ف ق ل وبم مهم م ه ض م ا و ع د ن ا ال ل و ر س ول ه إمل غ ه ورا (12) و إمذق ال ت ط ا مهف ة ممنه م ي ا أ هل ي ث مهب ل ف مهيق ممنه م مجع وا و ي ست أ مذ, م ض ام ل ك م ف ار الن بمي ي ض ول و, إم,ب ي وس ن ا ع ور ة و م ا مهي بمع ور ة إم,ي مهيد و, إمل ف م ه ارا مهم ممن أ قط ا مره ا ث م س ئمل وا (13) و ل و د مخل ت ع ل ي ال مفتن ة ل س وه ا و م ا س ل ب ث وا بمه ا إمل ي (14) مسريا و ل ض د ك ان وا ع اه د وا ال ل ممن ق بل ل ي و ل و, ال دب ار و ك ا, ع هد ال ل مم سؤ ول (15) Say: Flight shall not do you any ق لل ن ي نف ع ك مال مفه ار إم, ف ه رس م ممن ا good if you fly from death or

9 slaughter, and in that case you will not be allowed to enjoy yourselves but a little. Say: Who is it that can withhold you from Allah if He intends to do you evil; rather He intends to show you mercy? And they will not find for themselves besides Allah any guardian or a helper. Allah knows indeed those among you who hinder others and those who say to their brethren: Come to us; and they come not to the fight but a little, Being niggardly with respect to you; but when fear comes, you will see them looking to you, their eyes rolling like one swooning because of death; but when the fear is gone they smite you with sharp tongues, being niggardly of the good things. متأ موال ض ت ملو إمذا ل ت ت ع و, إمل ق لميل ال و (16) م ك م ممن ال ل إم, أ ر اد مصم ق ل م ن ذ اال مذيي ع بمك م س وءاأ و أ ر اد بمك م ر ح ة و ل ي مد و, ل م ممن د و م, ال ل م و لمي ا و ل ن مصريا (17) ق د ي عل م ال ل ال ع موقمي ممنك م و ال ض ا مهلمي إمل م لمخو ا م نمم ه ل م إمل ين ا و ل ي أس و, ال ب أس ق لمي ل (18) أ مشح ة ع ل يك م ف إمذ اج اءال وف ر أ يت ه م ي نظ ه و, إمل يك س د ور أ عي ن ه م ك ال مذي مت ف إمذ اذ ه بال وف مه ممن ال و ي غ ش ع ل ي س ل ض وك مبمأ ل مسن ة محد اد أ مشح ة ع ل ال ري م

10 These have not believed, therefore Allah has made their doing naught; and this is easy to Allah. They think the allies are not gone, and if the allies should come (again) they would fain be in the deserts with the desert Arabs asking for news about you, and if they were among you they would not fight save a little. Certainly you have in the Messenger of Allah an excellent exemplar for him who hopes in Allah and the latter day and remembers Allah much. And when the believers saw the allies, they said: This is what Allah and His Messenger promised us, and Allah and His Messenger spoke the truth; and it only increased them in faith and submission. ممن وا ف أ حب ط ال ل أ عم ا ل م أ ول ئمك ل م ي ؤ مسريا و ك ا, ذ لمك ع ل ال ل مي (19) حي س ب و, ال حز اب ل م ي ذه ب وا و إم,ي أ مت ال حز ابي و د وال و أ ن م ب اد و, م فا ل عه ا مب ي سأ ل و, ع ن أ نب ا مهك م و ل و ك ان وافميك مم ا ق اس ل وا إمل ق لمي ل (20) ل ض د ك ا, ل ك م م ف ر س و مل ال ل م أ سو ة ح س ن ة مل ن ك ا, ي هج و ال ل و ال ي وم ا ل مخه و ذ ك ه ال ل ك ثمريا (21) ممن و, ال حز اب ق ال واه ذ ام ا و ل ا ر أ ى ال ؤ و ع د ن ا ال ل و ر س ول ه و ص د ق ال ل و ر س ول ه و م ا ز اد ه م إمل إممي انا و س سلميما (22)

11 Of the believers are men who are true to the covenant which they made with Allah: so of them is he who accomplished his vow, and of them is he who yet waits, and they have not changed in the least. That Allah may reward the truthful for their truth, and punish the hypocrites if He please or turn to them (mercifully); surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. And Allah turned back the unbelievers in their rage; they did not obtain any advantage, and Allah sufficed the believers in fighting; and Allah is Strong, Mighty. And He drove down those of the followers of the Book who backed them from their fortresses and He cast awe into their hearts; some you killed and you took captive another part. ممن ال ؤ مم مني مرج ال ص د ق وا م ا ع اه د وا ال ل ممنه م م ن مه ف ممنه م م ن ق ض ن ب ه و مدي ل ع ل ي ي نت مظه و م ا ب د ل واس ب (23) لمي مذب ج مزي ال ل الص ا مدقمي بم مهم مصدقم و ي ع مهم إم, ال ل ال ن افمضمي إم, ش اءأ و ي ت وب ع ل ي ك ا, غ ف ورا ر محيما (24) مظ مهم ل م ي ن ال وا و ر د ال ل ال مذين ك ف ه وابمغ ي خ ري او ك ف ال ل ال ؤ مم مني ال ضمت ال و ك ا, ال ل ق موي ا ع مزيزا (25) و أ نز ل ال مذين ظ اه ه وه م ممن أ ه مل ا مصي مهم و ق ذ ف م فق ل وبم مهم ال مكت ا مب ممن ص ي اله عبف مهيضاس ضت ل و, و س أ مسه و, ف مهيضا (26)

12 And He made you heirs to their land and their dwellings and their property, and (to) a land which you have not yet trodden, and Allah has power over all things. O Prophet! say to your wives: If you desire this world's life and its adornment, then come, I will give you a provision and allow you to depart a goodly departing. And if you desire Allah and His Messenger and the latter abode, then surely Allah has prepared for the doers of good among you a mighty reward. O wives of the prophet! Whoever of you commits an open indecency, the punishment shall be increased to her doubly; and this is easy to Allah. مدي ار ه م و أ مو ا ل م و أ ور ث ك م أ را ه م و و أ راال م س ط ؤ وه ا و ك ا, ال ل ع ل ك لم ش يء ق مديها (27) ي ا أ ي ه االن بمي ق ل لم زو ا مجك إم, ك نت س مهد, مزين ت ه ا ف ت ع ال ي أ م تمعك ن ال ي اة الد ني او و أ س همحك ن س ه احا ج مي ل (28) و ر س ول ه و الد ا ر و إم, ك نت س مهد, ال ل مسن ا مت ممنك ن ا ل مخه ة ف إم, ال ل أ ع د لملم ح مظيما أ جهاع (29) ع ذ اب محش ة مين ة ي آ اع ف ل اال بمف ا م ب مسريا ماعف ي م و ك ا, ذ لمك ع ل ال ل مي (30) And whoever of you is obedient ممنك ن مل ل م و ر س ولم مه و س عم ل to Allah and His Messenger and و م ن ي ضن ت

13 does good deeds, We will give to her a double reward, and We have prepared for her an honourable sustenance. O wives of the Prophet! you are not like any other of the women; If you will be on your guard, then be not soft in (your) speech, lest he in whose heart is a disease yearn; and speak a good word. And stay in your houses and do not display your finery like the displaying of the ignorance of yore; and keep up prayer, and pay the poor-rate, and obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah only desires to keep away the uncleanness from you, O people of the House! And to purify you a (thorough) purifying. And remember what is recited in your houses of the communications of Allah and the wisdom; surely Allah is Knower of subtleties, Aware. م ت ا أ جه ه ام ه س ي م و أ عت دن ا ل ا ص ا ملان ؤ مرزق ا ك مهمي ا (31) ي انمس اءالن بميم ل ست ك أ ح د ممن ال منس اءإم م, مل ف ي ط م ع ال مذي م ف ت ف ل ت آ عن بمال ض و اس ض ي ق لبم مهم ه ض و ق لن ق ول م عه وفا ج (32) و ق ه, م فب ي وسمك ن و ل س ب جن س ب مة ال و ل و أ قممن الص ل ة و آسمي ال ا مهلمي الز ك اة و أ مطعن ال ل و ر س ول ه إم ن اي مهيد ال ل ع نك م الهمجس أ هل ال ب ي مت ذ مهب لمي و ي ط مهه ك م س ط مهريا (33) و اذك ه, م ا ي تل م فب ي وسمك ن ممن آي ا مت ال ل م مة إم, ال ل ك ا, ل مطيفا خ بمريا و المكم (34)

14 Surely the men who submit and the women who submit, and the believing men and the believing women, and the obeying men and the obeying women, and the truthful men and the truthful women, and the patient men and the patient women and the humble men and the humble women, and the almsgiving men and the almsgiving women, and the fasting men and the fasting women, and the men who guard their private parts and the women who guard, and the men who remember Allah much and the women who remember-- Allah has prepared for them forgiveness and a mighty reward. And it behoves not a believing man and a believing woman that they should have any choice in their matter when Allah and His Messenger have decided a matter; and whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger, he surely strays off a manifest straying. إم, ال سلم ممي و ال سلمم ا مت و ال ؤ مم مني و ال ؤ ممن ا مت و ال ض ا منتمي و ال ض ا منت ا مت و الص ا مدقمي و الص ا مدق ا مت و الص ابم مهين و الص ابمه ا مت و ال ا مشعمي و ال ا مشع ا مت مدقمي و ال ت ص و ال ت ص مدق ا مت و الص ا مه ممي و الص ا مهم ا مت و ال افم مظي ف ه وج ه م و ال افمظ ا مت و الذ ا مك مهين ال ل ك ثمريا و الذ ا مكه ا مت أ ع د ال ل ل م م غ مفه ة و أ جها مظيما ع (35) ؤ ممن ة إمذ ا ق ض ال ل و م ا ك ا, مل ؤ ممن و ل م المري ة ممن ول ه أ مهاأ, ي ك و, ل م و ر س أ م مه مهم و م ني ع مص ال ل و ر س ول ه ف ض د ا ل ا ل ل م بمين ا (36)

15 And when you said to him to whom Allah had shown favour and to whom you had shown a favour: Keep your wife to yourself and be careful of (your duty to) Allah; and you concealed in your soul what Allah would bring to light, and you feared men, and Allah had a greater right that you should fear Him. But when Zayd had accomplished his want of her, We gave her to you as a wife, so that there should be no difficulty for the believers in respect of the wives of their adopted sons, when they have accomplished their want of them; and Allah's command shall be performed. There is no harm in the Prophet doing that which Allah has ordained for him; such has been the course of Allah with respect to those who have gone before; and the command of Allah is a decree that is made absolute: مه و أ نع م ت أ نع م ال ل ع ل ي و إمذ س ض ول لمل مذي ك ز وج ك و اس مق ال ل مسك ع ل ي مهأ م ع ل ي مدي مه و ت ش و ت مفي م ف ن ف مسك م ا ال ل م ب الن اس و ال ل أ ح ق أ, ت ش اه ف ل م ا ق ض ز يد ممنه ا و ط ها ز و جن اك ه ا لمك ي ل ي ك و, ع ل معي ا مه مهم إمذ ا ال ؤ مم مني ح ه ج م فأ زو ا مجأ د ق آ وا ممنه ن و ط ها و ك ا, أ مه ال ل مم فع ول (37) م ا ك ا, ع ل الن بميم ممن ح ه ج فميم ا ف ه ض ال ل ل ه س ن ة ال ل م م ف ال مذين خ ل وا ممن ق بل و ك ا, أ مه ال ل م ق د را م ضد ورا (38)

16 Those who deliver the messages of Allah and fear Him, and do not fear anyone but Allah; and Allah is sufficient to take account. Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Messenger of Allah and the Last of the prophets; and Allah is Cognizant of all things. ال مذين ي ب لمغ و, مرس ال مت ال ل م و ي ش ون ه و ل مسيبا ي ش و, أ ح دا إمل ال ل و ك ف بمال ل م ح (39) م ا ك ا, م م د أ ب ا أ ح د ممن مرج المك م و ل مكن ر س ول ال ل و خ اس م م الن بميمي و ك ا, ال ل بمك لم ش يء ع لميما (40) O you who believe! remember و مذكها ي ا أ ي ه اال مذين آم ن وااذك ه ا ال ل frequently, Allah, remembering And glorify Him morning and evening. He it is Who sends His blessings on you, and (so do) His angels, that He may bring you forth out of utter darkness into the light; and He is Merciful to the believers. ك ثمريا (41) و س بمح وه ب كه ةو أ مصي ل (42) ه و ال مذي ي ص ل م ي ع ل يك م و م ل مهك ت ه خ مهج ك م ممن الظ ل م ا مت إم ل الن و مر و ك ا, لمي محيما بمال ؤ مم مني ر (43)

17 Their salutation on the day that they meet Him shall be, Peace, and He has prepared for them an honourable reward. O Prophet! surely We have sent you as a witness, and as a bearer of good news and as a warner, And as one inviting to Allah by His permission, and as a lightgiving torch. And give to the believers the good news that they shall have a great grace from Allah. And be not compliant to the unbelievers and the hypocrites, and leave unregarded their annoying talk, and rely on Allah; and Allah is sufficient as a Protector. O you who believe! When you marry the believing women, then divorce them before you touch them, you have in their ت مي ت ه م ي وم ي لض ون ه س ل م و أ ع د ل م أ جها ك مهمي ا (44) ي ا أ ي ه االن بمي إمن ا أ رس لن اك ش ا مهداو م ب مشها و ن مذيها (45) مسه اجام منريا و د ا معيا إم ل ال ل مبمإمذنم مهو (46) مش مه ال ؤ مم مني بمأ, ل م ممن ال ل م ف آ ل و ب ك بمريا (47) و ل س مط معال ك افم مهين و ال ن افمضمي و د ع أ ذ اه م م مكي ل و س و ك ل ع ل ال ل مو ك ف بمال ل و (48) ي ا أ ي ه اال مذين آم ن واإمذ ا ن ك حت م ال ؤ ممن ا مت وه ن ممن ق ب ث م ط ل ضت م مل أ, ت س وه ن ف م ا

18 case no term which you should reckon; so make some provision for them and send them forth a goodly sending forth. O Prophet! Surely We have made lawful to you your wives whom you have given their dowries, and those whom your right hand possesses out of those whom Allah has given to you as prisoners of war, and the daughters of your paternal uncles and the daughters of your paternal aunts, and the daughters of your maternal uncles and the daughters of your maternal aunts who fled with you; and a believing woman if she gave herself to the Prophet, if the Prophet desired to marry her-- specially for you, not for the (rest of) believers; We know what We have ordained for them concerning their wives and those whom their right hands possess in order that no blame may attach to you; and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. مهن ممن عمد ة س عت د و ن ا ف م تمع وه ن ل ك م ع ل ي و س همح وه ن س ه احا ج مي ل (49) ي ا أ ي ه االن بمي إمن ا أ حل لن ال ك أ زو اج ك ال ل م ت آس يت أ ج ور ه ن و م ا م ل ك ت مي مين ك مم ا أ ف اء ال ل ع ل يك و ب ن ا مت ع ممك و ب ن ا مت ع م اسمك و ب ن ا مت خ المك و ب ن ا مت خ ال مسك ال ل م ت ه اج ه, م ع ك و امه أ ة م ؤ ممن ة إم, و ه ب ت ن فس ه الملن بميم إم, أ ر اد الن بمي أ, ي ست ن مكح ه ا خ المص ة ل ك ممن د و م, ال ؤ مم مني ق د ع لممن ا م ا مهم م فأ زو ا مج مهم و م ام ل ك ت ف ه ا ن ا ع ل ي أ مي ا ن م لمك ي ل ي ك و, ع ل يك ح ه ج و ك ا, ال ل غ ف ورا ر محيما (50)

19 You may put off whom you please of them, and you may take to you whom you please, and whom you desire of those whom you had separated provisionally; no blame attaches to you; this is most proper, so that their eyes may be cool and they may not grieve, and that they should be pleased, all of them with what you give them, and Allah knows what is in your hearts; and Allah is Knowing, Forbearing. It is not allowed to you to take women afterwards, nor that you should change them for other wives, though their beauty be pleasing to you, except what your right hand possesses and Allah is Watchful over all things. O you who believe! 20 food, then disperse-- not seeking to listen to talk; surely this gives the Prophet trouble, but he forbears from you, and Allah does not forbear from the truth And when you ask of them any goods, ask of them from behind a curtain; this is purer for your hearts and (for) their hearts; and it does not behove you that you should give trouble to the Messenger of Allah, nor that you should marry his wives after him ever; surely this is grievous in the sight of Allah If you do a thing openly or do it in secret, then surely Allah is aware of all things. مديث إم, ف انت مشه وا و ل م ست أنم مسي مل ذ لمك م ك ا, ي ؤ مذيالن بمي ف ي ست حيمي ممنك م و ا ل ل ل ي ست حيمي ممن ال قم و إمذ ا س أ ل ت م وه ن م ت اع ا ف اسأ ل وه ن ممن و ر اء محج اب ذ لمك م لمض ل وبمك م و ق ل وبم مهن و م ا ك ا, ل ك م أ, أ ط ه ه س ؤذ وا ر س ول ال ل م و ل أ,س ن مكح وا أ زو اج ه ممن ب ع, ذ لمك م ك ا, مدهمأ ب دا إم معند ال ل م مظيما ع (53) إم, س بد وا ش يئاأ و ت ف وه ف إم, ال ل ك ا, بمك لم ش يء ع لميما (54)

21 There is no blame on them in respect of their fathers, nor their brothers, nor their brothers' sons, nor their sisters' sons nor their own women, nor of what their right hands possess; and be careful of (your duty to) Allah; surely Allah is a Witness of all things. Surely Allah and His angels bless the Prophet; O you who believe! Call for (Divine) blessings on him and salute him with a (becoming) salutation. Surely (as for) those who speak evil things of Allah and His Messenger, Allah has cursed them in this world and the hereafter, and He has prepared for them a chastisement bringing disgrace. And those who speak evil things of the believing men and the believing women without their having earned (it), they are guilty indeed of a false accusation and a manifest sin. مهن م فآب ا مه مهن و ل أ بن ا مه مهن و ل ل ج ن اح ع ل ي إمخو ا م نمن و ل أ بن اء إمخو ا م نمن و ل أ بن اء أ خ و ا م تمن و ل نمس ا مه مهن و ل م ا م ل ك ت أ مي ا ن ن و اس ضمي ال ل إم, ال ل ك ا, ع ل ك لم ش يء ش مهيدا (55) إم, ال ل و م ل مهك ت ه ي ص ل و, ع ل الن بميم ي ا أ ي ه ا مه و س لمم وا س سلميما ال مذين آم ن وا ص ل وا ع ل ي (56) ال ل م ف إم,ال مذين ي ؤذ و, ال ل و ر س ول ه ل ع ن ه م مة و أ ع د ل م ع ذ ابام مهينا الد ني ا و ا ل مخه (57) و ال مذين ي ؤذ و, ال ؤ مم مني و ال ؤ ممن ا مت بمغ ري م م ا اكت س ب واف ض مد احت م ل واب هت انا و إمث ام بمينا (58)

22 O Prophet! Say to your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers that they let down upon them their over-garments; this will be more proper, that they may be known, and thus they will not be given trouble; and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. If the hypocrites and those in whose hearts is a disease and the agitators in the city do not desist, We shall most certainly set you over them, then they shall not be your neighbours in it but for a little while; Cursed: wherever they are found they shall be seized and murdered, a (horrible) murdering. (Such has been) the course of Allah with respect to those who have gone before; and you shall not find any change in the course of Allah. ي ا أ ي ه ا الن بمي ق ل لم زو ا مجك و ب ن اسمك و نمس اء مهن ممن ج ل بميبم مهن ال ؤ مم مني ي دنمي ع ل ي ذ لمك أ د ن أ, ي عه فن ف ل ي ؤذ ين و ك ا, ال ل غ ف ورا ر محيما (59) مه ال ن افمض و, و ال مذين م فق ل وبم مهم ل ئ م نل م ي نت مةل ن غ مهي ن ك مدين مجف و, م ف ال م ه ض و ال ه بم مهم ث م ل ي ا مور ون ك فميه ا إمل ق لمي ل (60) م لع ونمي أ ين م ا ث ضمف واأ مخذ وا و ق تمل واس ضتمي ل (61) س ن ة ال ل م م ف ال مذين خ ل وا ممن ق بل و ل ن ت مد م مدي ل لمس ن مة ال ل س ب (62)

23 Men ask you about the hour; say: The knowledge of it is only with Allah, and what will make you comprehend that the hour may be nigh. Surely Allah has cursed the unbelievers and has prepared for them a burning fire, To abide therein for a long time; they shall not find a protector or a helper. On the day when their faces shall be turned back into the fire, they shall say: O would that we had obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger! And they shall say: O our Lord! surely we obeyed our leaders and our great men, so they led us astray from the path; O our Lord! give them a double punishment and curse them with a great curse. مة ق ل إم ن ا ع من الس اع ي سأ ل ك الن اس عملم ه ا معند ال ل مو م اي د مريك ل ع ل الس اع ة ق مهيبا س ك و, (63) إم, ال ل ل ع ن ال ك افم مهين و أ ع د ل م س عمريا (64) خ الم مدين فميه اأ ب دا ل ي مد و, و لميا و ل ن مصريا (65) ي وم س ض ل ب و ج وه ه م م فالن ا مر ي ض ول و, ي ا ل يت ن ا أ ط عن ا ال ل و أ ط عن ا اله س ول (66) و ق ال وا ر ب ن اإمن ا أ ط عن ا س اد س ن ا و ك ب اءن ا ف أ ا ل ون ا الس مبي ل (67) ماعف ي م ممن ال ع ذ ا مبو ال ع نه م ر ب ن اآ م تمم ل عن ا ك بمريا (68)

24 O you who believe! Be not like those who spoke evil things of Musa, but Allah cleared him of what they said, and he was worthy of regard with Allah. O you who believe! Be careful of (your duty to) Allah and speak the right word, He will put your deeds into a right state for you, and forgive you your faults; and whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger, he indeed achieves a mighty success. Surely We offered the trust to the heavens and the earth and the mountains, but they refused to be unfaithful to it and feared from it, and man has turned unfaithful to it; surely he is unjust, ignorant; ي ا أ ي ه ا ال مذين آم ن وا ل س ك ون وا ك ال مذين آذ وا م و س ف ب أ ه ال ل مم ا ق ال وا و ك ا, معند ال ل م مجيها و (69) ي ا أ ي ه اال مذين آم ن وااس ض وا ال ل و ق ول واق ول مديدا س (70) ي ص ل م ح ل ك م أ عم ال ك م و ي غ مفه ل ك م ذ ن وب ك م و م ني مطع ال ل و ر س ول ه مظيما ف ض دف از ف وزاع (71) إمن ا ع ه ا ن ا ال م ان ة ع ل الس م او ا مت مض و المب ا مل ف أ ب ي أ, حي مملن ه ا و ال ر ممنه ا و ح ل ه ا ا لمنس ا, إمن ه ك ا, و أ شف ضن ظ ل وم ا ج ه ول (72)

25 So Allah will chastise the hypocritical men and the hypocritical women and the polytheistic men and the polytheistic women, and Allah will turn (mercifully) to [the believing men and] the believing women, and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. مذب ال ل ال ن افمضمي و ال ن افمض ا مت لمي ع و ال ش مه مكي و ال ش مهك ا متو ي ت وب ال ل ع ل ال ؤ مم مني و ال ؤ ممن ا مت و ك ا, ال ل غ ف ورا ر محيما (73)

26 SURATUL MUNAFIQUN In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful When the hypocrites come to you, they say: We bear witness that you are most surely Allah's Messenger; and Allah knows that you are most surely His Messenger, and Allah bears witness that the hypocrites are surely liars. They make their oaths a shelter, and thus turn away from Allah's way; surely evil is that which they do. That is because they believe, then disbelieve, so a seal is set upon their hearts so that they do not understand. And when you see them, their persons will please you, and If they speak, you will listen to their speech; (they are) as if they were big pieces of wood clad with garments; they think every cry to be against them. They are the enemy, therefore beware of مما مهلل اله ح من اله محي مم بمس إمذ اج اء ك ال ن افمض و, ق ال وا ن شه د إمن ك ول ال ل م و ال ل ي عل م إمن ك ل ه س ول ه و ال ل ي شه د إم, ال ن افمضمي ل ه س ل ك ا مذب و, (1) مبي مل ا ت ذ وا أ مي ا ن م ج ن ة ف ص د وا ع ن س ال ل م إم ن م س اء م ا ك ان وا ي عم ل و, (2) ذ لمك بمأ ن م آم ن وا ث م ك ف ه وا ف ط بمع ع ل ق ل وبم مهم ف ه م ل ي فض ه و, (3) ك أ جس ام ه م و إم, مجب و إمذ ا ر أ يت ه م س ع م لمم ك أ ن م خ ش ب ي ض ول وا س سم ع لمض و مهم ه م ح ة ع ل ي م س ن د ة حي س ب و, ك ل ص ي

27 them; may Allah destroy them, whence are they turned back? And when it is said to them: Come, the Messenger of Allah will ask forgiveness for you, they turn back their heads and you may see them turning away while they are big with pride. It is alike to them whether you beg forgiveness for them or do not beg forgiveness for them; Allah will never forgive them; surely Allah does not guide the transgressing people. They it is who say: Do not spend upon those who are with the Messenger of Allah until they break up. And Allah's are the treasures of the heavens and the earth, but the hypocrites do not understand. ال ع د و ف احذ ره م ق اس ل ه م ال ل أ ن ي ؤف ك و, (4) و إمذ ا قميل ل م س ع ال وا ي ست غ مفه ل ك م ر س و ل ال ل مل و وا ر ء وس ه م و ر أ يت ه م ي ص د و, و, و ه م م ست ك مب (5) مهم أ ست غف هت ل م أ م ل م س و اء ع ل ي س ست غ مفه ل م ل ن ي غ مفه ال ل ل م إم, ال ل ل ي ه مدي ال ض وم ال ف ا مسضمي (6) معند مفض وا ع ل م ن ه مال مذين ي ض ول و, ل س ن مل ل م خ ز ا مهن ر س و مل ال ل م ح ت ي نف آ وا و مضو ل مكن ال ن افمضمي ل الس م او ا مت و ال ر ي فض ه و, (7)

28 They say: If we return to Medina, the mighty will surely drive out the meaner there from; and to Allah belongs the might and to His Messenger and to the believers, but the hypocrites do not know. O you who believe! Let not your wealth, or your children, divert you from the remembrance of Allah; and whoever does that, these are the losers. And spend out of what We have given you before death comes to one of you, so that he should say: My Lord! Why didst Thou not respite me to a near term, so that I should have given alms and been of the doers of good deeds? And Allah does not respite a soul when its appointed term has come, and Allah is Aware of what you do. مةل ي خ مهج ن مدين ي ض ول و, ل ئ م ن ر ج عن ا إم ل ال مل ل مال عمز ة و ل م ه س ولم مه ال ع ز ممنه ا ال ذ ل و و لملم ؤ مم مني و ل مكن ال ن افمضمي ل ي عل م و, (8) ي ا أ ي ه ا ال مذين آم ن وا ل س ل مهك م أ مو ال ك م مذك مه ال ل م و م ن ي فع ل و ل أ ول د ك م ع ن ذ لمك ف أ ول ئمك ه مال ا مسه و, (9) مل أ, ي أ م ت و أ ن مفض وا ممن م ا ر ز قن اك م ممن ق ب مبل ول أ خ هس م ن أ ح د ك م ال وت ف ي ض ول ر إم ل أ ج ل ق مهيب ف أ ص د ق و أ ك ن ممن الص ا ملمي (10) و ل ن ي ؤ مخه ال ل ن فسا إمذ ا ج اء أ ج ل ه ا و ال ل خ بمري م ب ا س عم ل و, (11)

29 ZIYARA ASHURA Salaams upon you, Ya Aba Abdillah-(Kuniyya of Imam Husayn (pbuh)) Salaams upon you, O son of the messenger of Allah Salaams upon you, O son of the Commander of the faithful and the forefather of successors (of the Prophet - Imam Ali (pbuh)) Salaams upon you, O son of the leader of the women of the world- Bibi Fatima (pbuh) Salaams upon you, O he who was killed fighting for Allah and the son of those killed in His way and he who was killed with vengeance. Salaams on you and on all those on your side I ask Allah to send blessings on all of you, for the rest of the days and nights of my life ع ل يك ي ا ا ب اع ب ا لس ل م مد ا مهلل ملا مهلل ع ل يك ي ابن ر س و ا لس ل م ع ل يك ي ا بن ا ممري م ال ؤ مم مني و اب ن ا لس ل م مصيمي س يم مدال و مةنمس مء ع ل يك ي ابن ف ا مطم ة س يمد ا لس ل م ال ع ال مي ع ل يك ي اث ار ا مهللو ابن ث ا مر مهو ا لس ل م ال موسه ال وس ور ع ل يك و ع ل ال رو ا محال م ت ح ل ت ا لس ل م بم مفن مهك ا مهلل ا ب دام ا ك م مم نم ج ميعا س ل م ع ل ي ال يل و الن ه ار ت و ب ض م ي ب ضمي

30 O Aba Abdillah! The grief and agony for what you went through for us and all the other followers of Islam is unbearable the atrocities against you also shook all those in the heavens مدا مهلل ي ا ا ب اع ب مت مت اله مزي ة و ج ل ت و ع ظ م ل ض د ع ظ م مصيب ة بمك ع ل ين او ع ل ج مي مع ا ه مل ال ب ت ك م ف ال مس ل ممو ج ل ت و ع ظ م ت م مصي الس م و مت ع ل ج مي مع ا ه مل الس م و مت ف ل ع ن اهلل ا م ة ا س س ت ا س اس الظ ل ممو مت ك م ا هل ال ب ي مر ع ل ي ال و ع ن م ض ممك م و و ل ع ن اهلل ا م ة د ف ع تك م ر س ب ك م ال م ت ك م ع ن م ه اسم مبي ا ز ال تك م ه ا اهلل فمي May the la'na (curse) of Allah be on the umma which laid the basis of this injustice towards you and your Ahlul Bayt And la'na (curse) of Allah on the umma which denied you your rightful status, knowingly neglecting your status given to you by Allah And la'na (curse) of Allah be on و ل ع ن اهلل ا م ة ق ت ل تك م the umma that killed you و ل ع ن اهلل ال م ممن قمت المك م مكي م مه مدين ل م بمالت م And la'na of Allah be on those who instigated and took part in your murder I turn away from them, their ممنه م و ممن followers and their friends ب مههت ام ل ا مهلل امل يك م

31 towards Allah and you O Aba Abdillah! Indeed I am at peace with those who are at peace with you, and I am at war with those who are at war with you. La'na of Allah be on the progeny of Ziyad and the progeny of Marwan La'na of Allah be on all of the Banu Umayya La'na of Allah be on the son of Marjana La'na of Allah be on Umar ibn Sa'd مه مهم ا شي ا مع مهم و ا سب ا مع مهم و ا ولمي مدا مهلل ي ا ا ب اع ب مل ن ح ا مل ن س ال ك م و ح هب ام م ن مسلم مة ممال ضمي م ر ب ك م ام ل ي و و ل ع ن اهلل ا ل مزي اد و ا ل م هو ا, و ل ع ن ا مهللب م ن ا م ي ة ق ا مطب ة و ل ع ن اهلل ابن م هج ان ة و ل ع ن اهلل ع م ه بن س عد و ل ع ن اهلل م شها La'na of Allah be on Shimr La'na of Allah be on the umma who celebrate your killing as a festival I, my father and my mother are at your disposal Indeed, I am greatly grieved for و ل ع ن اهلل ا م ة ا سه ج ت و ا ل م ت و س ن ض ب ت لمضمت لمك بما م ب ا نت و ا ممي ل ض د ع ظ م م ص ا م ب بمك you

32 مة I ask Allah, who has honoured you, to honour me on account of you By granting me the opportunity to be with the victorious Imam (leader) from the Ahlul Bayt of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) (at the time of final defeat of all the enemies of Allah) O Allah! Make me be on Your way following Husayn in this world and in the hereafter O Aba Abdillah! With your help I (want) to get closer to Allah, His messenger, the commander of the faithful, Bibi Fatima, Imam Hasan and yourself And I distance myself from all those who fought with you and killed you I distance myself from all those who laid the basis of the injustice towards you ف ا سئ ل اهلل ال مذي ا كه م م ض م ك و م ن بمك ا كه م ر ث ا مرك م ع امم ام م نص و ط ل ب ي هز ق م ن ا, مهو ا لم مه اهلل ع ل ي ممن ا ه ملب ي مت م م د ص ل ها بمال س ي م ا لل ه م اجع ل م ن معند ك و مجي مه الس ل م م ف الد ني او ال مخه ع ل ي مدا مهلل ي ا ا ب اع ب ام ل ا مهللو ام ل ر س ولم مهو ام ل ام م ن ا س ض ه ب ا ممري م ال ؤ مم مني و ام ل ف ا مطم ة و ام ل ال س من و امل يك ب و ال سمك و بمال ب آه مة مم ن ق اس ل ك و ن ص ب ال هب ل ك و بمال ب ب آه مة مم ن ا س س ا س اس الظ ل مم و مر ع ل يك م ال و

33 I take refuge (seek safety) with Allah and His messenger from those who laid the foundation for this (your suffering) and from those who planned and carried it out (the injustice towards you) and those who allowed the atrocities towards you and your Shias to happen I distance myself from all of them and present myself to Allah and yourself I seek closeness to Allah, and then with you to get your protection and to make friends with your friends I distance myself from your enemies and those who initiated the battle against you و ا به ء ام ل ا مهلل و ام ل ر س ولم مه مم ن ا س س ا س اس ذ لمك و ب ن ع ل ي مهب ني ان ه و ج ه ى م ف مر مه ع ل يك م و ع ل ا شي ا معك م ظ ل مم مهو ج و ممنه م ب مههت ام ل ا مهلل و امل ي ك م ام ل ا مهلل ث م امل يك م و ا س ض ه ب م ب وو ال سمك م و م و ال مة و لميمك م و بمال ب آه مة ممن ا عد آ مهك م و الن ا مصبمي ل ك مال هب I distance myself from their و بمال ب آه مة ممن ا شي ا مع مهم و ا سب ا مع مهم followers and friends Indeed I am at peace with those who are at peace with you And I am at war with those who are at war with you And I am a friend to those who are your friends And I am an enemy of those who are your enemies مل ن س ال ك م ام م ن مسلم مل ن ح ار ب ك م و ح هب مل ن و ال ك م و و م ل مل ن ع اد اك م و ع د و

34 مة مة I ask Allah to grant awareness of م ب ع مهف تمك م و you and your friends م ن ف ا سئ ل اهلل ال مذي ا كه م م ع مهف مة ا ولمي مهك م And to grant me immunity from the influence of your enemies So that I may be with you in this world and in the hereafter And to be steadfast following your footsteps in this world and in the hereafter I ask Him (Allah) to help me to reach (meet) you in your praiseworthy position with Allah And to grant me the opportunity to fight for justice with the Imam who is rightly guided and who will speak out for truth و ر ز ق م نال ب آه ة ممن ا عد آ مهك م ا, ي ع ل م ن م ع ك م م ف الد ني او ال مخه و ا, ي ث بمت م ل معند ك م ق د م مصدق م ف الد ني او ال مخه و ا سئ ل ه ا, ي ب لمغ م ن ال ض ام ال حم ود ل ك م معند ا مهلل م ع امم ام ث ا مري ك م ط ل ب و ا, ي هز ق م ن م ه مدي ظ ا مهه ن ا مطق بمال قم ممنك م I ask Allah through you and your و ا سئ ل اهلل م ب ضمك م و بمالش ا م, ال مذي position with Him That He overwhelms me with grief in memory of the atrocities committed against you more than any personal grief that afflicts anyone. Grief that has no parallel and معند ه ل ك م ص ا م ب بمك م ا فآ ل م ا م ن م ب مطي ا, ي ع مصيب ةم ا ب تم مه م مصي ص ابا م ب ي ع مطي م

35 overshadows all other calamities in the history of Islam; and in the heavens and the earth O Allah! In this place treat me like one who is granted Your mercy, blessings and forgiveness O Allah! base my life on the lives of Muhammad and his Ahlul Bayt And base my death on the death of Muhammad and his Ahlul Bayt O Allah! this day is a joyful day for the Banu Umayya - the cursed group who You and Your messenger have sent la'na (curse) on publicly. 36 O Allah! send Your la'na (curse) on Abu Sufyan and Muawiya and Yazid bin Muawiya and let it be an everlasting la'na from You And on this day the descendants of Ziyad and Marwan celebrate because of the killing of Husayn Alayhis salaam O Allah! increase for them Your la'na and the painful punishment O Allah! 38 Recite 100 x Salaams upon you, Ya Aba Abdillah And on those who were on your side putting themselves at your disposal I ask Allah to send His blessings on all of you for all the remaining days and nights of my life May Allah not make this the last promise of my association with you Salaams upon Husayn, and on Ali ibn Husayn, and on the children of Husayn and on the companions of Husayn. 41 DUA ALQAMA Imam Ja fer As-Sadiq (pbuh) recited this dua after reciting Ziyara Ashura. This was reported by a companion of his called Alqama bin Muhammad Hazari. 44 And through them I ask for a hearing and through their intercession I put forward my case, In their names I make a request to You and I promise to live a life according to Your commands, and I will carry out my promise by every means, و بم مهم ا س و س ل و بم مهم ا س ش ف ع امل يك و م ب ضم مهم ا سئ ل ك و ا ق مسمو ا ع مزم ع ل يك معند ك them, And with Your Love for و بمالش ا م, ال مذي ل م معند ك You, And their status with و بمال ض د مر ال مذي ل م And their excellence over all others in the worlds, And through Your names You have revealed to them in trust, And that You have selected them in preference over all the worlds And their perfection and excellence in knowledge over all the inhabitants of the worlds I ask You to send blessings on Muhammad and his Ahlul Bayt ع ل ال ع ل ممي و بمال مذي ف آ لت ه م معند ه م و بمامس مك ال مذي ج ع لت ه و بم مه خ ص ص ت ه م د و, ال ع ل ممي و بم مه ا ب نت ه م و ا ب نت ف آ ل ه م ممن ف آ مل ال ع ل ممي ح ت ف اق ف آ ل ه م ف آ ل ال ع ل ممي ج ميعا س ص م م د و ل م ي ع ل ا مل م م د ا سئ ل ك ا,

46 مة And exercise Your authority on the one who wishes to rule over me And outsmart the one who wishes to deceive me Deal with the one who wishes to oppress me Keep away from me the deceit of the vindictive and mischief makers O Allah! destroy the intentions of one who wishes to destroy me, And outwit the one who plans against me, Keep away from me the deceit and the scheming and hostility, and keep me aloof, refusing to have anything to do with the schemer in whatever manner or occasion.
