1 Notice of Race 2016 Olympia It s The Water Regatta OYC High School Sailing, Olympia Washington March 19 20th, 2016 Amendment to NOR 2/26/16: HOST 1.1. This regatta is hosted by the Olympia Yacht Club High School Sailing Team, OYC Junior Program, Swantown Marina and The Port of Olympia. 2. RULES 2.1. The regatta will be governed by the current Racing Rules of Sailing, as modified by the prescriptions of US Sailing, the ISSA procedural rules, this Notice of Race, and the Sailing Instructions. 3. ELIGIBILITY 3.1. This regatta is a Qualifying Regatta as defined by the NWISA District Supplemental Rules. Qualifying regattas may be attended by active or mixed teams. However, final scores by mixed teams or additional active teams (JV teams) will be removed from the official results and the regatta will be re scored. For schools sending multiple Active teams, a Varsity team must be designated at registration. This Varsity team will be the team scored in the overall rankings for our Double handed Fleet Race District Championship Teams shall be comprised of a minimum of 4 sailors. Multiple teams per school are allowed (limited by boat availability). Teams with less than 4 sailors should contact the regatta chair for help combining with another school. 4. FORMAT 4.1. The regatta will consist of an A and B division and will be sailed with one division on the water at a time. 5. ENTRY FEE & T SHIRTS 5.1. A $150 damage deposit will be collect from each High School team (or affiliated organization). Make checks payable to NWISA Entry fee for High School sailors is $15/sailor, fee includes: Snacks Saturday and Sunday. Free lunch Saturday for sailors parents may purchase for $5 after sailors, as long as supplies last.

2 Dinner at the OYC Saturday night. Sailors eat for free. Parents $5. Please RSVP to dinner by ing our Parent Coordinator Becky Hellman with exact number of participants (including parents): 201 Simmons St NW, Olympia, WA T shirts will be sold separately, and are not included in Regatta fee. Competitors may purchase t shirts for $15. Non Competitors may purchase t shirts for $20. Please fill out the google form below to pre order your size. You may pick up and pay for your shirts on Saturday March 19th at the venue. Pre Order your T Shirt and size Google Form 6. VENUE 6.1. Racing will take place just north of Swantown Marina and Boatworks. Boats will be launched at the Swantown boat ramp next to the Olympia Area Rowing (OAR) boat house. Viewing, parking, and boat/trailer storage will take place in the upper viewing parking lot just north of the OAR boat house and launch ramp Marine Dr NE, Olympia, WA Access to the parking lot is via Marine Drive, the next right after the OAR boat house and launch ramp entrance. While spectator tents and canopies may be provided, along with some seating and tables, the area is exposed to the weather. Please plan accordingly Swantown bathrooms directly across from the OAR boat house may be used during the event The Olympia Farmer s Market is close by with local foods and crafts. Downtown Olympia is only 5 minutes away. Ralph s Bayview Thriftway is next door to the Olympia Yacht and is a good option for grocery shopping close to the race venue. 7. BOATS 7.1. Boat allocations will be determined based on district supplemental rules boat allocation procedures The Regatta will be sailed in FJs. There are no charters available from the OYC as we have a fleet of 420s. Teams must bring their own FJs or make arrangements. This will be a rotational event. 8. LAUNCHING & STORAGE 8.1. Teams may begin unloading and launching boats prior to the skippers meeting Overnight boat storage, trailer parking, and spectator parking are available in the north viewing parking lot, more details will be shared at the Skippers Meeting. 9. SKIPPERS MEETING & CHECK IN 9.1. The Skippers Meeting will take place either in the viewing parking lot, or next to the OAR boathouse.

3 9.2. Check in will be under the large canopies found either in the viewing parking lot or next to the OAR boathouse. Regatta Fees and Medical/Liability waivers will be collected. 10. REGISTRATION Registration opens March 7 th, 2016 at 11:00am. Eligible schools shall submit their intent to participate, total number of sailors attending and number of boats they can bring to the NWISA registration spreadsheet no later than March 14 th, 2016 at 10:00pm. Additional registrations are allowed after this time, but teams may be turned away if boats are unavailable. There will be no morning of registration Please print, and fill out our Medical/Liability waivers for each participating sailor and turn in during check in with regatta fees. 11. HOUSING We will attempt to accommodate all teams who require housing. However priority will go to those traveling the furthest.
