1 Notice of Race Leukemia Cup Regatta Corinthian Sailing Club Centerboards April 25 27, 2008 Keelboats and Multihulls May 2 4, 2008 EVENT: The Seventh Annual North Texas Leukemia Cup Regatta benefiting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to help fight blood-related cancers. DATES and LOCATIONS: Centerboards April 25-27, 2008 Corinthian Sailing Club (CSC), White Rock Lake, Dallas, TX Keelboats May 2-4, 2008 (DCYC), Lewisville Lake, Oak Point, TX ORGANIZING AUTHORITY: RULES: ELIGIBILITY: ( and Corinthian Sailing Club ( The regatta will be governed by the Rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) , except as modified by the Sailing Instructions. The regatta is subject to the Advertising Restrictions as defined in RRS Appendix 1 (Advertising). This regatta is classified as a Category C event. Class rules relating to crew changes will not be in effect for the Centerboard event for those boats who take on sponsor representatives as crew. This event is open to all sailors. CLASSES and COURSES: Centerboards Open to centerboard and Corinthian Class boats. Five boats of any one design will race as a one-design class at the discretion of the Organizing Authority. Boats that do not form a one-design class will race as a handicap class and the North American Portsmouth Tables will be used to calculate each boat s corrected time. Keelboats and Multihulls There will be three separate racecourses J/22, Multihull, and PHRF/one-design. PHRF/one-design competitors may enter the Spinnaker Fleet or Non-Spinnaker Fleet. Six boats of any one design will race as a one-design class at the discretion of the Organizing Authority. Boats that do not form a one-design class will race under PHRF handicaps. PHRF Fleet assignments and ratings will be at the discretion of the Organizing Authority. Current PHRF handicaps can be found at RACING: Five or more races will be attempted on each weekend. ENTRIES and FEES:

2 REGISTRATION: Registration may be completed by mail using the form included in this notice. Registration may also be completed online at Late registration may be completed at the regatta site. ENTRY FEE: See registration form for details. Online registrants may mail a check or pay fees upon arrival. LAUNCHING/LOADING: Personnel will be on station to assist launching of registered boats beginning at 4PM Friday, April 24, at CSC, and at 1 PM Friday, May 2, at DCYC. Boats may be launched prior to this time by making arrangements with race management. Temporary boat storage at CSC may be arranged by contacting CSC race management prior to the regatta. DCYC has a launching ramp and a jib crane with straps capable of lifting keelboats up to 10,000 lbs. Use of the DCYC jib crane is without cost for registered entrants. Arrangements for launching boats in excess of 10,000 lbs. can be made at Eagle Point Marina, Eagle Point Marina will charge a fee for this service. CHECK IN: All skippers are required to check in with registration officials to pick up their skipper s packet including sailing instructions, class flag, etc. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS: Sailing instructions will be given to all skippers upon check-in at registration. SKIPPERS MEETING: The skippers meetings will be held at the CSC clubhouse and at the DCYC tent in accordance with the schedules below. The skipper, or a boat representative, is required to attend. CHARTERED BOATS: SCORING: PRIZES: A limited number of Flying Scots, Lightnings and Snipes will be available for charter for the Centerboard Regatta. Contact CSC race management prior to the regatta to inquire as to availability. The Low Point Scoring System, Appendix A, of the RRS will be used. There will be no throw-outs. One race will constitute a regatta. The number of prizes awarded within a class will be dependent upon the number of entries. Prizes will be awarded to at least the top three finishers of each class. ASSUMPTION OF RISK: By participating in this regatta, each boat owner, skipper and crew agrees to sail and to use Corinthian Sailing Club s facilities and/or s facilities at his or her own risk. To the fullest extent permitted under Texas law, each boat owner, skipper, and crew unconditionally and irrevocably release and discharge Corinthian Sailing Club, and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, their officers and all other persons who lend boats or equipment, or who assist in maintaining equipment or in organizing and conducting races from all claims and legal liability for personal injury, death or property damage incurred in connection with the regatta and caused by negligence. 7 DIRECTIONS to From Lewisville - Denton: Take I-35E, Stemmons Fwy E, US-77 and go northwest for 10 miles. Bear right on ramp at sign reading "State School Rd. / Mayhill Rd." Turn right at light after exiting and go approximately 1/2 mile. Turn right on Mayhill Rd. and continue to Hwy 380. Turn right on Hwy 380 for 6 miles. Turn right on N Naylor Rd and go south for 2.5 miles to stop sign. Continue straight ahead on Yacht Club Rd and go south for 2.4 miles. From DFW Airport: Exit north to Hwy 114 / 121 and continue northeast on TX-121 for 14 miles. At The Colony turn left on FM-423 and go north for 7.4 miles. Bear left on E FM-720 and go west for 7 miles. Turn left on McCormick Rd and go west for 0.9 miles. Turn left on Yacht Club Rd and go south for 2.4 miles. From George W. Bush 190: Take Dallas North Tollway and go north for 4.1 miles to Hwy 121. Cross Hwy 121 and continue on N Dallas Pky and go north for 5 miles. Turn left on Main St. in Frisco and go west for 4 miles to light at FM 423 merge. Turn right at light and continue taking the left fork at the 720 split for 8 miles Turn left on McCormick Rd and go west for 0.9 miles. Turn left on Yacht Club Rd and go south for 2.4 miles. DIRECTIONS to Corinthian Sailing Club From South, West and North side of Dallas: Exit onto Loop 12, Northwest Highway, from I-35E, Stemmons Fwy, or US-75, N Central Expressway, and head east. Turn right (south) onto Buckner Blvd. Make a right at the second exit onto Mockingbird Lane and take the first exit to E. Lawther Dr. Turn left on Lawther Dr. and follow the lake to the Corinthian Sailing Club. From East side of Dallas: Exit onto Loop 12, Buckner Blvd, and head north from I-30, R. L Thornton Freeway. Continue straight on Buckner Blvd. Take the Mockingbird Lane exit which is several miles past Garland Rd. Turn left onto Mockingbird Lane and take the first exit after the overpass to E. Lawther Dr. Turn left on Lawther Dr. and follow the lake to the Corinthian Sailing Club.
