Featuring BannerSaver Bracket System Eliminate Wind Damage and Keep Your Banners Tight and Straight With Patented BannerSaver Preferred by municipal engineers Excellent for city special events, festivals, shopping centers & malls Spring loaded system Spills up to 87% of the wind Certified and installed on five continents Wind tunnel tested
The only true performance bracket Wind Tunnel Tested, Spilling 87% of the wind! Wind is a banner s worst enemy. Each day that the wind kicks up, your banners take a beating. With BannerSaver Brackets your banners remain taut as winds reach approximately 65 MPH. As this happens your banners tip with the wind in proportion to its speed. The more the wind blows, the more the BannerSaver brackets release saving your banners and light poles! Here s how it works: As the wind blows, your banners tip to spill the wind, keeping your banners and poles intact 0 to 25 MPH 35 MPH 45 MPH 55 MPH 65 MPH 75 MPH
BannerSaver Laugh in the Face of the Wind. Patented BannerSaver Brackets Make Standing Up to Weather a Breeze. Los Angeles, CA We did it. We designed a way to secure outdoor banners so when the inevitable happens from a 25 mph breeze to a 70 mph storm banners and poles can shrug off the wind and survive intact. Our secret: The new, exclusive BannerSaver brackets that allow a banner to flex according to wind speed and direction. Instead of catching the wind and tearing, your banners bow briefly to let wind spill safely away. When the wind dies down, banners and poles return to their original position, remaining taut and readable the entire time. Simple. Brilliant. Patented. Cleveland, OH Our customers rely on BannerSaver to promote events and generate ad revenue on outdoor light poles pretty much everywhere from public streets, parking lots and stadiums to golf courses, shopping centers and campuses. In fact, BannerSaver is the only pole bracket approved for use in many U.S. and worldwide municipalities. Have a special challenge? Tell us about it and we ll do whatever it takes to transform your problem into an exciting product advance. Gone with the Wind? Not with BannerSaver! London, England Eliminates damage to banners, brackets and poles from winds up to National Weather Service tornado specifications Speeds banner change-outs Cuts maintenance to a bare minimum Reduces light pole liabilities Keeps banners taut and looking terrific Protects everyone s banner investment and image Makes it easier to attract advertising and sponsorship to build revenues Proven: certified and installed across the U.S. and worldwide The only outdoor pole bracket allowed by many cities Five sizes, for banners from 9 sq. ft. up to 30 sq. ft. based on wind load Backed by customer support like you ve never experienced before!
BannerSaver BannerSaver Is a Product of Our Imagination. Now, Imagine What You Can Do With It! At MSB, every customer problem becomes an inspiration for new product design. So when we saw the damage everyday winds can cause to banners, traditional fixed brackets and light poles, we leapt into action and devised a solution that everyone can afford and everyone wants. Keys to BannerSaver Performance Spring-tensioned assembly. BannerSaver s exclusive spring-loaded mechanism responds to winds quickly according to speed and direction, rotating with the wind vertically and horizontally to dramatically reduce wind load on banners. Simple physics. BannerSaver s change in angle spills 87% of wind compared to less than 25% for standard bracket systems. Fits any banner width Two-piece cast aluminum base. BannerSaver is easy to install with standard tools. Powdercoated finish is available. Five-year warranty Available in five versions. We ll help you select the model you need, depending on your banner size (min. 9 sq. ft. to max. 30 sq. ft.) and wind load. Please note our largest model requires the use of heavy banding and install tool.
BannerSaver London, England London, England Today, BannerSaver is keeping outdoor displays beautiful on five different continents. No more flapping or tearing BannerSaver makes pole-mounted advertising feasible and more profitable for everyone. Walk along the streets of London or Beverly Hills and you ll see BannerSavers at work, standing up to winds and making sure banners always look their best. Ever heard of California s Santa Ana winds? They re famous for their incredible force and destructive power. But with BannerSaver on the job, banners are safe and secure. As a matter of fact, BannerSaver-XL units have successfully withstood Santa Ana winds since 1999! In addition to BannerSaver brackets, you can turn to Main Street Banner for banner design and printing. We provide a turnkey solution that ensures quality and cost-efficiency.
BannerSaver Wind Tunnel Test Report Introduction BannerSaver is a patented light pole bracket which utilizes a spring tension system to keep banners in place during normal conditions and allows them to rotate as wind speed increases to reduce wind-load forces and light pole liabilities. Independent tests, developed by TranTek Drive Systems of Traverse City, Mi., were conducted to determine how much windload is transferred to a light pole using a variety of banner mounting devices including BannerSaver, a flexible bracket and a fixed bracket. The test apparatus simulated a light pole and was equipped with sensors to detect banner deflection and pole forces. Known wind speeds were provided by Behr America, a subsidiary of Behr GmbH and Co. KG, in a calibrated wind tunnel. The nozzle was set at a midpoint condition of 8m2, and banners were positioned 12 feet away. These conditions assured consistent air distribution to the entire profile and allowed wind speeds up to 100 mph. Forces were measured by a very precise load cell with a normal range of 0 to 500 lbs and a linearity specification of ±.0025% of full scale. Post-test wind speeds above 10 mph were certified by Behr as accurate to within 1%. Diagram A Summary Wind tunnel tests performed using BannerSaver and two 30 x 80 banners showed that the wind-load never exceeded 200 lbs at wind speeds in excess of 90 mph, while other bracket systems yielded loads in excess of 500 lbs under the same conditions. Test Procedure Record Static Conditions - Diagram A Start wind tunnel and record base wind speed, force on banner pole, and deflection.wind speeds were held for two minutes while increasing wind speed at 10mph increments. Repeat procedure on comparative brackets.
Main Street Banner BannerSaver Test Results Test results clearly illustrate BannerSaver s advantages. The most obvious and unique characteristic of the device is its ability to limit the force to the pole by spilling the wind away. In the test (see Diagram B) this spilling occurred between 42 and 52 mph. As the wind force overcame BannerSaver s spring force, the banners changed direction. They started out perpendicular to the wind, then billowed and turned such that at over 70 mph the middle of each banner became partially hidden behind the pole. Calculated Reduction of Area Using the drag equation for air, derived from Bernoulli s equation, the theoretical force at a given wind velocity can be calculated and directly compared to the measured force. From that comparison the reduction of banner area can be derived for each bracket. Diagram B Example: At 90 mph, the theoretical force on two 30 X 80 banners is: F = (90)2 * 33.3* = 690 lbs The following table shows, by comparison, the reduction of banner area: Flexible Fixed BannerSaver Force 545 lbs.(avg.) 530 lbs.(avg.) 90 lbs.(avg.) Reduction 21% 23% 87%
BannerSaver Installation Guide Installation Steps: 1 Mount top and bottom of bracket to pole with metal bands. Secure metal bands with screw driver. The BannerSaver bracket is easy to install, move and adjust. These step by step instructions will provide the necessary information for any installer to install the perfect light pole banner program. It is highly recommended that you install the banner at the same time you install the brackets. Installing the brackets prior to installing the banner will likely result in necessary adjustments and incorrect measurements. We recommend a top-to-bottom approach. Necessary Equipment Two BannerSaver Brackets per banner Banding (three per bracket) Zip Ties (two per banner) Lift Truck Electric Screw Driver with 5/16 nut driver Tin Snips Plastic Snips Duct Tape 2 Install fiberglass arm and insert pin into nose and arm. 3 Insert zip tie through banner grommet and pin. 4 Clip excess ends of metal bands and zip ties. Installing the Top Bracket Position and fully install top bracket Use three bands per bracket, six per set Remember top bracket, spring on top! (Duct tape is useful as a third-hand while you secure the banding.) Install Top Edge of Banner Fiberglass arm needs to be 10 cm longer then banner width Insert arm through pole pocket and insert end with the metal sleeve into the nose of the bracket Finish with zip tie through grommet Tighten banding and clip excess banding and zip tie (At this point the top bracket and the top of the banner will be fully installed.) Installing the Bottom Bracket Move down the pole and install the bottom bracket and banner. pocket with the metal sleeve inserted into the nose of the bracket Insert the pin through nose and fiberglass arm Remember bottom bracket, spring on bottom! The banner is now fully extended and attached to the BannerSaver bracket. The BannerSaver bracket is now ready to be installed on the pole. Push bottom bracket against pole and install both top bands Remember, BannerSaver brackets have a one degree cantilever so the bottom of the bracket will stick out one degree. Push bottom edge of bracket against pole and install bottom band Finish with zip tie through grommet and trim ends of the zip tie and banding
BannerSaver Installation Guide Maintenance The BannerSaver will work well for many years, limiting banner damage and reducing light pole liabilities, but maintenance is important and recommended as follows: Return to the install site within 2-4 weeks of the first install to tighten bands if necessary. Check on banding once a quarter and/or after high wind storms. It may be necessary to tighten or replace banding from time to time. Banding and Other Considerations Important - Choosing The Right Banding Choosing the right Banding is essential for correct BannerSaver installations. Here are the points to consider: Standard Banding: Standard banding works fine for most installations when using the BannerSaver Small or XS brackets and in most cases the Medium. It can also work for some BannerSaver Large bracket installations but never with the BannerSaver XL brackets. Heavy Banding: Heavy Banding is recommended and is ideal for most installations and is required for all BannerSaver XL brackets. Heavy Banding for your BannerSaver should be considered when you have the following situations: Tapered Poles Square Poles which are 10 cm or greater on each side Double sided banner installations, especially square or tapered poles Sites with a history of exceptional wind damage Important! All banding of any kind, from any company, requires maintenance. Heavy Banding costs more up front but will reduce maintenance costs in the long run. Bolting and Wall Mount Installations The BannerSaver can be installed via a bolt instead of banding. BannerSaver XS through BannerSaver Large: Install with 3/8 Bolt BannerSaver XL: Install with 1/2 Bolt Wall Mounts: The BannerSaver will spill wind regardless of its mounting on a pole or wall. The customer is responsible for all wall mounted installations, and warranties do not apply due to the wide variation in walls. Zip Tie Fiberglass Arm Pin Spring Metal Banding Nose Recommended Install Height Minimum of 4.5 m
BannerSaver Installation Guide BannerSaver Warranty BannerSaver provides a ten-year warranty on the BannerSaver against product design, manufacturing and its wind-spilling capabilities as outlined in the BannerSaver Wind Tunnel Test Report and assuming proper installation methods. During this warranty period, BannerSaver will replace or repair the BannerSaver. This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is in lieu of all other warranties either expressed or implied for a period of five years from the date of purchase. BannerSaver will not warrant the following: SHIPPING; customer is to bear all shipping expense to return the unit to BannerSaver. LABOR; associated with the removal or installation. DAMAGE; caused by misuse, neglect abuse, accidents, alterations, corrosive environments and any other abnormal service conditions. This warranty specifically does not include product damage due to weather conditions rated F-0 and higher (65mph) on the National Weather Service Fujita Scale. Claims against the warranty must include: Clear pictures of installations, including proper banding. National Weather Service reporting based on the day of inquiry. BannerSaver customers recognize that performance related products like the BannerSaver require occasional maintenance including checking for loose banding and/or the replacement of bands. Britten encourages customers to remove light pole banners from poles when a known F-O or higher storm is expected. Engineers Favorite
