1 30 January 4 February 2017 Grenada Sailing Week is Grenada s major international keelboat regatta. Held annually at the end of January, this is an ideal introduction to the Caribbean sailing season for yachts that have crossed the Atlantic, and an excellent challenge for regionally based boats is no exception, and the regatta will commence with Skippers Registration and Welcome Event on Monday 30 January and end with the Final Prize Giving Event on Saturday 4 February. We are actively seeking sponsors for this event and appreciate your time in reading this document. Background Info Grenada Sailing Week (GSW) was established in 2013 to replace the keelboat regatta previously facilitated by the Grenada Sailing Festival. Over the first 4 years, registered entries have ranged between 29 and 36, attracting yachts from between 11 and 13 countries each year, including Antigua, Austria, Barbados, the BVI's, Canada, Carriacou, France, Grenada, Mexico, Norway, St Lucia, Singapore, Trinidad & Tobago, the UK and the USA. Starting in 2013 with 4 Classes, this sailing week now has 6 Classes, ranging from the more serious CSA Racing, Racer/Cruiser and J24 Classes to the more relaxed Cruising (Fun) and Classic Classes. The GSW Board together with committed supporters, remains strongly focused on growing this regatta into a top class international sailing event that will benefit the sport of sailing, the marine industry and tourism in Grenada. Grenada Sailing Week in 2017 For the 2017 edition, our aim is to reach a wider international audience, and to this end the GSW Board welcomes your support in the development of the Grenada Sailing Week and wishes to work closely with you. Sponsors of Grenada Sailing Week are able to promote their brand regionally as well as locally, as promotional items given out to the sailors travel with them throughout the region. This is a perfect opportunity for businesses operating in the Caribbean Region to come on board and begin the year with specific and targeted marketing to a discerning and affluent audience.

2 Our Sponsors We offer a variety of sponsorship packages to suit all budgets and in this section have outlined some of the current prestigious sponsors of Grenada Sailing Week. Our Title Sponsor is Island Water World this is their main marketing and sponsorship initiative in Grenada. They have sponsored Grenada Sailing Week since it s inception in 2013 and gain a huge benefit from the event in terms of brand awareness. Our Associate Partner is Grenada Tourism Authority Grenada Sailing Week is an exceptionally successful marketing and sponsorship initiative to showcase the Pure Grenada brand to a targeted and engaged international audience. Our Race Day Sponsors are: Mount Gay Rum they heavily promote the Mount Gay brand, which has been long associated with sailing and the limited edition Mount Gay Red Caps given out to sailors are a much sought after item. Mount Gay sponsors several events on the Caribbean regatta circuit, starting with the Round Barbados Racing Series which takes place just prior to the Grenada Sailing Week. Sea Hawk Premium Yacht Finishes an international marine paint company who have loyally supported Grenada Sailing Week since inception in They both sponsor and support the event through additional promotion at the international boat shows they attend around the world. Secret Harbour a marina located in Mount Hartman Bay. Secret Harbour has long been a secret and chose to support Grenada Sailing Week to promote their services as a fully operational marina to our international audience. We have 4 Race Days during Grenada Sailing Week and are actively seeking one more Race Day sponsor. We have a variety of other sponsors ranging from our Charter Partner, the Moorings, and Gold, Silver, and Bronze sponsors. We have an active social media campaign on both Facebook and Twitter and use Go2Fete for local marketing. o Facebook - We have over 2,000 likes on our Facebook page and during the event we had over 12,000 impressions of posts. o Twitter - Our presence is slowly growing and we have had a recent increase of activity as we are gaining momentum in this important aspect of social media. o Instagram during the event and event promotions we actively use the instagram platform to send out photos of racing, and sponsor activity. o We use the popular Go2fete team for local promotions in the lead up to the event. Go2fete has over 15,000 likes on their Facebook page and over 12,000 contacts and 21,000 mobile numbers to which the event is marketed.

4 Logo to be featured on the GSW Sponsor Backdrop/Race Banner, and on any official GSW AV Display run during the event Logo to be placed on Official GSW event T-shirt (Race Day Sponsor) Branded T-shirts for all frontline staff and GSW officials and volunteers (Race Day Sponsor) Featured in MC announcements throughout the event Access to the GSW Logo, for use in joint promotions Access to our skippers packs. o All skippers and our volunteer team receive a bag with regatta information and sailing instructions (Notice of Race, Courses etc) Sponsors get the opportunity to add promotional items into the bags to create and promote brand awareness. The most successful items are things such as keyrings, pens, hats, t-shirts, koozies, product samples, reusable cups and so on. These items are usually distributed amongst the crew of the boat (up to 10 persons) and some can be kept and used for many years to come, thus creating an invaluable sponsor brand awareness. Paper flyers or brochures tend to be thrown away. Grenada Sailing Week has signed up with Sailors for the Sea to be a Clean Regatta and part of this initiative is to reduce the amount of paper used during the event. To this end we are actively encouraging our sponsors to provide reusable useful items for the skippers bags. Branding at the venues and on the committee boats (depends on sponsorship level) Advertisement in our event booklet this has a print run of over 500 copies and is distributed to all participants and stakeholders before and during the event. Complimentary tickets to our Final Night Prize Giving (depends on sponsorship level)

Sponsor display of 4 Feather Flags at the race day venue and a banner/flag on the committee boat on their race day. Sponsor logo placed on two course markers. Sponsor to provide and sponsor official to present overall 1 st, 2 nd & 3 rd prizes and 1 st place trophies for each class for their branded race day at the official prize-giving. Sponsor of branded race day t-shirts for GSW committee members and frontline staff at venue Sponsor will receive two (2) complimentary tickets for the Awards Dinner to be held on the last day of the regatta. Friends of Grenada Sailing Week Publically supporting the marine industry and enabling GSW Board to be able to offer an international regatta in Grenada Logo featured on Friends of GSW page in event program Sponsor to be mentioned in MC announcements at the end of the event. Mention in final press release Friends Sponsor Fee US$185 (EC$500) fee to be a Friend of Grenada Sailing week.

10 Other Sponsorship Opportunities There are many other ways in which you can sponsor Grenada Sailing Week, depending on your business and your sponsorship budget, below are some ideas which we would be happy to discuss with you in more detail if you are interested. Sponsored flights into Grenada for our team of officials this usually costs around US$3,000 with most officials flying into Grenada from other Caribbean islands. VIP program Chase the Race a catered catamaran tour for VIP guests to watch the beginning of the races on selected days. This would commence around 8am and end around lunchtime. There would be complementary drinks, a light breakfast and other snacks included. Goody Bags for volunteers in order to successfully execute Grenada Sailing Week we rely on our team of volunteers who work tirelessly behind the scenes ensuring the event runs smoothly. We would like to thank the volunteers with a goody bag. There is an opportunity to either fully or partially sponsor this bag. Ideally it would contain some drinks, a branded reusable water bottle, a t-shirt, a hat, a lanyard, a key ring, sun cream, lip balm, etc items with your brand that are useful for volunteers during sailing week. Water / Land Taxi sponsorship we need to provide free water taxis from our event venues to yachts moored in the bay or at different marinas. As we will be using two venues in 2017, there is a need for a land based taxi service to operate between the venues on the change over day. Sponsorship of our taxi service would be an opportunity for your business to stand out from the crowd, providing an essential service to our participants. Entertainment sponsorship we have 6 nights of parties during the regatta and on each of those nights we need to have entertainment either cultural entertainment or bands or regionally based bands / entertainers. We are requesting sponsorship of one of these nights you would have exclusive sponsorship of the night (apart from our drinks sponsors behind the bar). This is an amazing opportunity to stand out from the crowd bringing attention to your brand. Lay day Activities After 2 days of sailing we have a lay day to give the sailors chance to rest and recover and plan their strategy for the remaining races. There is an opportunity to sponsor activities on this day and we would be happy to discuss this further with you.

Over 800 regattas, gams, rallies and cruises have registered as Clean Regattas. One part education, two parts activation, the program unites and mobilizes sailors by offering support and resources to help conserve and protect the ocean. We will be creating reusable signage; asking vendors at our events to use responsible dinnerware; practicing responsible waste management by providing sorted recycling bins at our venues; encouraging water bottle reduction by providing (through sponsorship) reusable water bottles to sailors; requesting our food vendors provide sustainable food options at our events; providing useful and long lasting marine items as race day prizes rather than trophies that sit on a shelf gathering dust and so on. Sponsors can get involved in our Clean Regatta program by providing re-usable promotional items for our skippers bags to cut down on paper resources, such as flyers that are read once and then thrown away. We are seeking sponsorship of reusable water bottles to be given to participating crews and our volunteers. The water bottles would be branded with GSW 2017 logo and your own brand, thus creating a long lasting item promoting your brand long past the end of the regatta. With your help in this area, Grenada Sailing Week aims to be awarded with the Sailors for the Sea Clean Regatta Silver or Bronze Certificate during Grenada Sailing Week 2017.
